  • Nice jam pal

  • People should post their soloing over this a video response

  • how its coled that first lic (he starts with it) ??

  • yeah!!! hell yeah!! my solo was mindblowin'....yeah you werent so bad too

  • I actually managed to nail the big moment pretty damn good this time :)

  • Such a sickkk blues shred sesh

  • wondering how you can also play these jamtracks on the spot i know the notes are in the key but when you go higher on the fret board and pick single notes how do you find those.

  • @bio49410 You gotta know your scales and pattern shapes well , then you know what notes to hit

  • If there is a song in E does that mean you can do either major or minor pentatonic scales or does it have to be specific to e minor or major key

  • amazing

  • LOL my big moment was horrible. I even read the comment too.

  • trying to jam along with an A Blues Harp.. am I doing this right? =D seems to sound good sometimes^^

  • @flubbablubba123 A is the correct key if you're playing in 2nd position (root is 2 draw) and then you'll be playing the harp in the key of E. Check Adam Gussow ('kudzurunner') on youtube for the best blues harp instruction you'll ever get.

  • @photosexual gonna do this right away! thank you mate ;)

  • Grande!

  • wow i never thought i could play blues but when i jam to this i was like wow where did i learn that

  • That was a fun jam.

  • i love you man :) i pay €30,- an hour for my guitar teacher and he didn't teach me half the things you did ..

  • how many youtube channels' do you have??

  • Awesome, added to favorites

  • Thank you, you're a nice person for teaching people free.

  • This is awsome! Thanks marty

  • we should start a band... but seriously your videos are amazing and are a great help and inspiration.. THANK YOU

  • For the life of me I just cannot get thea little trick lick you do with the third fret E string when you are doing the 12 bar blues bit, well thats the best way I can describe it as I don't get to play that often.

  • pause the video, play a song of your choice in the background, press 4&5 simultaneously on this paused video to watch Marty rock out

  • Awesome!! Blues with Marty Shwarts!!! Good Lessons, thanks

  • 4:19 <- [EPIC FACE mode] button.

  • Jamming with you is a blast!!! Been practicing scales for years and still could not solo. Didn't know what they were for. Til now. lol! Serious...Keep up the killer vids!!!

  • Loving the face a 4:20 Marty. Keep it up lol

  • Krwx

  • Krw

  • You have gotta love this guy.

  • 2:10

"Marty--you forgot to take out the trash!"

  • When you play your solo back and it sounds like shit, I guarantee you don't have enough spacing between notes. In blues the not playing is as important as the playing

  • @lonewolf1234512345 I always rush the blues. I knew I knew the scales better than that. Read your comment, chilled out a bit, and sounded better, thanks.

  • hell yeah, ive been playing guitar for 13 years, never had a lesson, but jammin with your videos has started to get me out of my "rut." I felt like everytime i picked up the ax, i was playin the same stuff and couldnt break through it, seems to happen every year or two - well im starting to progress my playing again. Thank you.

  • This has helped me immensely with my Blues leads. Thanks so much!!

  • love the blues / been trying to play since i was 10 that was 47 years ago / still learning // you are best teacher ive ever saw // just wanted to say thanks // please keep it going //thanks dale

  • Marty you are the MAN, best teacher I ever had.

  • Wish i could do that!

  • good god i just spent like two hours outside on my porch playing this on my laptop and jamming away with a legend

  • The head of that guitar looks like you made it at school-- Great lesson Marty love your style of teaching.

  • at 0:03 I thought the acid just kicked in watching the background

  • Marty is just toooo COOL.

  • As an intermediate-ish player I was feeling very stagnant in my progression and actually put the guitar down for awhile out of frustration. I have been playing again now for a few months and your lessons and jam tracks on here have really helped open up more of the fret board to me and have encouraged me to continue learning and practicing. Can't tell you how much I appreciate the time you take to help those of us who want to be able to express themselves through music. Thank you Marty!

  • Ohhh shit I cant fail now when I jam with Marty !

  • @tashman8 yea..got all nervous

  • @tashman8 every darn time i jam to this...lol. soon though....soon.

  • @tashman8 Aye I think I hit a total of like 3 notes... Stuttered a wee bit then fell silent until the music started again. What I can I say? I'm a baby musically. I still need a cradle to support me.

  • @tashman8 hahahhahaha not me, i really thought i would, but i pulled it off, so thumbs down i guess, i wont do it but, one peron out of 40 so far got it right...... some beers and real blues will do that to a man....... make him complete. his blues str8 from the heart

MORE MORE MORE lessons like this

  • SICK WICKED AND NASTY

  • I was laughing to hard to play anything at the end

  • i love how you stop at the end

  • Dude, I would totally buy a bloopers dvd from you....

  • Cool, Marty. Loving the progress I'm making. I just watched and learned that E run from E on the bass E to E on the 12th fret of the treble E and adding the pent on top of that. So, I've been playing it over this (above) jam with you. Thanks.

  • i created an account just to thank you

  • When you paused for the "big licks" I didn't play anything...it was awkward.

  • @Azzurae <------- Suffers from performance anxiety.. Relax and play your "bestest" licks all at the end!!

  • i love you marty!

  • Marty! Do my wife!

  • can you teach us the keys? and what they are?

for example, the key of E?

  • @hobodeath GOOGLE: 1, 4, 5 progression. It will show the What KEY (the KEY of the song) and 4th and fith.

Another def. of Key is that most Keys have sharps/ flats(except for C). To play the scale in a certain KEY you need to know where the sharps and flats go in the scale. This concept is better to see on a piano(when to play the black keys) E major is a major scale based on E, with the pitches E, F#, G#, A, B, C#, and D#. Its key signature has four sharps(Play the black keys for the sharps)

  • DUDE,YOU ARE THE BEST!

  • i just played my best improvisation i've ever played to this track (the techniques i learned from him of course)

  • A Marty u are one bad MF. I have learned alot from ur vid's. Keep it up pimp. I know u get all the ladys.

  • Marty,

I've learned more in the past 6 months watching your vids than in 6 years of guitar lessons as a teenager. You da man!

  • i think 9 people missed the like button...and by the way i jammed all the way through it, i love your blues lessons

  • 5:55 hahahahahaahahahahahahah

  • you and me just had a really good jam just a shame you couldn`t hear it:) Keep em coming:)

  • i loved that you should have more videos like that

  • i dont get it

whats the sence of this video?

what should i do with my guitar?

  • play blues in E!

  • @EverythingAndOther its a jam track.... you practice playing some licks over the top of what marty is playing. helps to practice keeping in time too

  • fuck to the yeah baby

  • Marty thanks for jammin' with me ;)

  • nice playin but can u teach jcb song by nizlopi

  • Nice basic track there! a lot of room for some leads.

  • Where do you learn this ?

  • by watching.=)

  • @TGROVE09 what about the chords..

  • its just a jamtrack. play along and then just pick around the e scale and a scale to get a blues sound. tune to open d or drop d and play some.

  • good stuff

  • This really goes along well with what you taught in the blues domination cd's expands of some of the things you showed us in there. its gonna be fun trying to figure out some of this stuff... thanks mary

  • Lesson please.

  • TEACH US WHAT YOU PLAYED

so i dont have to try and figure it out my self haha

  • Its for the most part just 12 bar blues in E so E, A and B, he is just spicing it up alot, which he covers in hison lesson

  • You make people feel your guitar playing while enjoying your showmanship. The world is a better place with people like you showing us how to play while giving us the joy of music again. Thanks!!!

  • @bb32456 only some people are prepared to share ... hail marty

  • @bb32456 Just imagine, we all are as talented as Marty.

  • cool!

  • Thank you sir. That was great!!

Since I can't jam with ya in person, this is the next best thing.

This really helped me practice my open blues scale and my open minor pentatonic.

    Dm

HIlarious!!! I've did that with a sneeze on during a screen shot.

  • speechless.....

  • marty u've made guitar a simple instrument for me.

    God bless.

  • smooth

  • dude you really are the best

  • 0:30 LoL

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick. love it when u do jam tracks....

  • damn I fucked up my big licks moment

  • you just making it all up as you go marty?

  • Probably yes, there are only really 3 chords in this whole track, if you learn a few riffs and different ways of playing the chords and practice it all building up your "blues vocabulary" as I like to call it, you'll be playing just like that, making it all up as you go along in no time. I've been playing guitar for 3 years and after a bit of practice this stuff is easy, i'm sure you'll get it in no time. Good luck!

  • Another quality vid marty. Thankyou!!

  • this video made me remember how much i freaking LOVE the blues

    rock on Marty

thank you for everything youve done for us

  • Thanks man!

    You made me a rockstar.

  • what are the chords in the first turnaround?

  • at apporximately 1:28, I think that's where you're talking about, The first turnaround starts with a B7, then to an A7, with a walkdown over an E in the bass, but you can just play either E major or a simple E5 (power chord) reverting back to a B7.

  • @ISS5731 Check out Martys "Land of A-7 You'll see alot of that going on here and things will start to make a little more sense...

  • oh ive seen those. I just didnt recognize the chord in the first turnaround, which i have learned is B7. but i definitely recognized that "land of A7" turnaround in there
