When you define your validity on the basis that you have given birth to children..... people will then look for further flaws based on your own most declared and prized assets that make you a "successful" politician worthy of contributing to world politics. Unfortunately the families of politicians is flaunted to the media to increase popularity. They are manipulated as tools to manipulate the public. When you have Sarah Palin, a politician who is legitimately berated over her qualifications as vice president of the United states, the sheer audacity to have her as a candidate at all is an insult. I really resonate with you, Rabbi Smuley. Political views and disagreement have their place. Even while disagreeing with Sarah, one can have proper respect for her person and that is a healthy attitude. Then there are those who by attacking her family have some kind of hope of winning some kind of victory. One must question what that particular victory is that they hope to win by doing this.

I am not a fan of hers but I do agree that attacks on her kids are horrible and should stop. There's enough to disagree with her on policy without attacking her family. Raise the level of debate to politics and policy not family.

Oh come on Shmuley. Sarah Palin is a right wing, charasmatic, idiot - that is why a lot of people hate her.  As your first commenter said the population growth is the greatest stress and risk to our planet. Evolution is treading lightly and responsibly on your planet.

Believe me I have seen plenty of families with lots of children that can't take care of them. If you have seen families with few children that can't take care of them I am guessing it is not the rule but sad exceptions.

Emoguy9000 - Judaism does not demand women refrain from birth control, not at all. It is entirely up the the mother on how many children she has. Judaism empowers women in their reproductive rights. Alot of Orthodox Jewish women have alot of kids simply because their faith promotes the belief the children are a blessing to our lives. A beautiful point of view.
