alright, I think I misunderstood your original comment, which lead to my over-reaction, for which I apologise.

I think the problem here is that we're using the term "social engineering" in different contexts, which lead to the aforementioned confusion.

I'm of course referring to it from an IT standpoint.

However, you mean it differently, am I correct?

I understood it from your IT standpoint, and just wanted to chip in from my standpoint, that's *all*. I wasn't trying to be vague or an asshole, but I was trying to 'post comment' about other meanings of social engineering. In a way, both are similar - ways of a select faction of people to influence whole masses of people.

1)You're an avid Halo player.

2)You're in school.

3)You're following trends, like the 'Dear Sister' parody.

4)You're using Youtube.

Almost everyone is screwed.
