What I admire most about Coraline is her courage. There are times when she's obviously scared, but she never runs away crying. What a brave kid, and the perfect role model for girls.

I'm so very, very glad Coraline was not made in CGI. So much of the emotional charm of this film would have been lost without puppetry. I grew up with the Muppets and the Rankin-Bass Christmas specials, so it's a thrill for me to see how puppetry evolved and that it's not a dead art.
