@Vestanine That's a leather strap. I'm pretty sure it's the Levy's Leathers M4 Model. Also check out the MSS2-4 model, in my opinon it looks and feels better.

The strap might also be by Italia straps. Not sure.

Gorgeous tone, splendid execution. Those claiming this is a dub need to listen to Jaco's original again. They're probably just confused because of how deliciously crunchy yet smooth your tone is. Fantastig!

i disliked this video, not because your not a talented bassist, you are, but thats one of my points, it sounds like you dubbed this over with the original, because it sounds exactly the same, even in the pauses where he doesnt play i recognise the feedback sound, but then again you might be the best bass player alive and this was spot on 100%, but im not sure.

@mantekka in the meantime, doubts about authenticity of this recording are the biggest compliments I can get. This was played 100% live, no overdubs, no scams whatsoever.

I mean, was Jaco's bass out of tune, as my bass in this video clearly is? The mistake at 0:45 also tells you i'm not miming to the original.

I don't know how I've missed this. One of my fav Jaco pieces which really demonstrates what a bass can do.

To me it's sounds pretty flawless but I'm no Jaco expert.

Great job dude. Probably the best "portrayal" Ive seen. I still havent found a cover which the player really hits that last harmonic and makes it sang (beautiful) but amazing job none the less.

@StarflareLegionaire it's because Jaco has overdubbed that last harmonic chord several times to get that natural chorus effect. If you listen to him play that in his 'instructionnal' video, you'll hear that he doesn't sound any better...
