You look fabulous! My 16 almost 17 yr. old daughter will go through Orthognathic surgery probably in July (she got metal braces put on last month). She has "Excess Verticle Maxillary" and her bite cannot be corrected without it. It is very encouraging to see how well you did, how happy you seem & how beautiful you look! All my best and thanks for sharing this in order to help others.
@MilanJ2010 Our oral surgeon told us that the recovery is less traumatic than after having wisdom teeth cut out. That's, of course, minus any complications, but this made my 17 yr. old daughter & us, the parents, feel much better!
HI i'm Macarena from Chile! i made almost the same surgery a month ago..Iwant to know if you recovered te sensibility in you low lip and chin, because in my case i stiil have almost no sensibility at all .. that estresses me a lot =(
hiya you look fab, well worth it,im getting mines down in march, cant wait but a bit scared, did you loose weight after it with not been able to eat much?
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved
I find that my nose looks totally different. If you look at my previous video, the bump is much more prominant before surgery and I hardly notice it after. I'm very happy with the results.
congratulations...you look great! I bet biting into things is a lot easier as well as your speech. I have an openbite with a slight overjet and I am scheduled to have jaw surgery in about a week! Do you have any advice on the recovery process?
i just had this surgery october 21st 2008 and i just now got everything off december 11 2008 i had to be put under genral anestesia for about an hour to remove my top and bottom arch bars and my plastic splint and it took my surgeon an hour to get everything out
what alll devices did you have and did your surgeon and dentist communicate?
I had a plastic splint as well that was wired to my upper braces. My surgeon and orthodentist definately communicated, and the orthodentist took over once the surgeon took the splint out. It went quite nicely I thought.
My wife has the same issue and difficulty chewing her food too. She is 29 now. Does anyone know if there is a way to have insurance cover this? I have not investigated this yet as I want to be better informed. Please help!
such a nicer profile!! Has your chewing ability improved much? Are you able to bite through things with your front teeth better?
you have gone from class II (chin too far back) to class I (normal) occlusion.... I had the opposite problem and had jaw surgery to go from class III (upper teeth behind lower teeth) to class I. It is an amazing transformation!
Thank you so much. My chewing hasn't really gotten too much better as of yet as the orthodentist has a lot of work to do since the surgery. I can bite through things with my front teeth way better now than before my braces went on as I had an openbite. The braces got rid of that and the surgery fixed the overbite. I am happy with the results, especially now that almost all of the swelling is gone.
How long did you need braces????
