SSCS have not paid 700,000USD to Mr. Pete Bethune overdue about half year.
As you know, Mr. Pete Bethune need to pay big ransom for accident during establish world record. Therefore he needed to sell "Earth Race". However SSCS tried to forget nearly half of the price. And Paul Watson asks Mr. Pete Bethune to boarding Japanese vessel. Paul Watson want Mr. Bethune to be arrested in Japan because keep him out SSCS not to ask payment and make new subject to get donations.
@edwardNakan It was an admitted tactic by the Sea Shepherds to make the Japanese set him free, and guess what, it worked. Pete Bethune is now home in New Zealand and intends to continue his anti whaling efforts in the future.
Violence begets violence.
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, America attacked Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Japan hunts the whales, the Sea Shepherds hunt the Whalers.
Similarities? Both are absolutely fed up with Japan's immorality and refusal to give up an already lost fight.
Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas.
The guy who said, "whales are intelligent!," is actually a hippie scientist by the name of John C Lilly, who was also a drug addict. Nobody believes in this scientist into alternative culture.
Whales are intelligent and live long lives in family pods. They communicate and show emotions. The barbaric practice of whaling kills whales by firing a harpoon with a cannon after chasing them to exhaustion. The whale doesn't die immmediately. It thrashes in pain while the whalers fire bullets into it with high powered rifles. It can take over an hour to kill these magnificent creatures! The Japs get away with this under the guise of research! That's a lie! SAVE THE WHALES! BOYCOTT THE JAPS!
You're just regurgitating a line (or rather, a lie) straight from Sea Shepherd.
The Whales usually die within seconds. When they don't, they try to hasten their death. It wouldn't just be barbaric to let a whale take minutes let alone hours to die, it would be idiotic. Stress gives meat a bad taste.
Watson also has a seething hatred of the people whose livelihood he threatens. Hes an elitist who, despite his upbringing among maritime fishermen, has no sympathy for those who make their living from the ocean. He begins his book Seal Wars by calling Canadian sealers the uneducated and the institutionally unemployed, barbarians, and piss-drunk on cheap booze.
if you want to see the actual NZ law about a citizens arrest check out my page. basicaly it says that he has no powers of arrest but the cant charge him for trying
Then why is he being domestically prosecuted? Because it involved their vessel, but wait they broke maritime law when they destroyed his ship, so why aren't they in NZ serving attempted murder charges?
The Japanese broke no law when they "destroyed his ship" because it was accidental and the Ady Gil crew was attacking the Japanese when it happened. That in no way constitutes attempted murder.
ACCIDENT MY ASS, THEY DID IT ON PERSONAL, and accident or not they're still liable, if a car runs your car off the road they still have to pay for dmg. same thing here.
You're completely ignoring the part about the Ady Gil being in the middle of ATTACKING the Shonan Maru when it happened. If you're chasing me, pelting my car with beer bottles and I accidentally run you off the road, honestly, who's side do you think the police and courts are going to side with?!
It's cultural discrimination and imperialism. No one has the right to tell Japanese people what they may or may not eat. Especially since the whales they hunt are not endangered.
it doesn't matter if there not endangered even if they were'nt fin whales are endangered and why it does'nt matter that some whales aren't endangered is because of a ban on commercial whaling but obviously u don't believe that and believe its cultural so you believe that its legal because o its been going on for a long time sometimes we have to end cultural things because they are wrong! we get over it
The facts that whales aren't endangered and whaling isn't illegal put Sea Shepherd in a position no better than the animal rights protesters who attack people for eating meat or wearing fur/leather. You're trying to force your ideology down other people's throats. So tell me, how long before you end this cultural thing of wanting to attack people in defence of animals? That's wrong too....
can japan stop fishing in waters that arent theres ,why dont your salmon boats stay off our california coastline, maybe we should go off your shores and take all your bluefin tuna, oh yeah you guys already wiped them out thats why you have to raise them in pens, why dont you guys just kill everything, selfish
The self-styled ecologist OZ supporting SS are now the BEST performer as global warmeing! Under the motto "all for whales, whales for all" they have finally overtaken the former BEST earth polluter US 2009!
Now they're providing more space in the sea for LOVELY whales by rising the sea level and aim to rise the global temperature to 2C.
So low-lying island like Tuvalu and the Maldives will disappear, but that's no issues for OZ to abandon the UNLOVELY human being like them!
My question is... If Japan stop hunting whales, what will SS do next to protect whales? Japan is not the only one, hunting whales. Will SS go after Norway, which is also engaging whale hunting?
Why SS attack only Japanese ships? It is really about protecting whales? It looks all about attacking Japan using whales as an excuse. If Japan were White country, SS would never attacked it.
@NRen2k5 So basically your saying, even though what the whalers did was COMPLETELY ILLEGAL AND AN ACT OF MURDER, you'll side with them for the sake that you don't like SSCS, that's sad.
He won pretty good in Norway, they actually skip years of hunting and aren't hunt nearly as much as they used to, or nearly as much as Japan, so going after ICR is a good decision.
You neglect to mention that they skipped years of hunting BEFORE Watson ever showed up. He showed up when they RESUMED hunting and they've only INCREASED their whaling since then.
You're damn right it's weird. You're living in a total fantasy world.
The numbers I'm looking at say otherwise. Mind you, I'm looking at Wikipedia, which is supposedly showing me the official numbers from the Norwegian government. What are you looking at?
Yeah, but look at the Norwegian numbers on a time graph. The numbers were going down before Watson ever showed up, and went UP when he came on the scene.
You implied that Watson had something to do with reduced Norwegian whaling. That's plainly false.
@NRen2k5 they didn't skip hunting, they weren't allowed because the whales are in extintion. they still are, but they "can" whale becuase of a hole in the iwc laws of whaling
@muttyta Those whales aren't "in extinction" (obvious from the fact that there are still some there to hunt). They're not even endangered as far as anybody knows. Caught you lying.
@NRen2k5 I guess I didn't specify what kind of whales are in extinction or arent. Eventhough there are "enough" minke whales, doesn't mean Japan or any other country can just go there and kill them ti make money out of them. Fin whales are in danger however, and so other animals. There's a lot of information online to get involved a little bit more about this.
Actually Norway still does hunt whales, just not as much as in the past. Watson didn't move on because he accomplished anything there, he ran away because he was getting his ass handed to him.
Togo deprived the registry of ship on Bob Barker. This causes it possible to make inspections of the ship on high seas without the consent procedure from flag state.
Netherlands is carrying forward a revision to the law for the deprival of registry of ship on Steve Irwin. The Consul of NZ embassy visited Japanese Foreign Ministry and talked with Peter Bethune on phone. He has a prive room, is well fit, and hopes to be sent to Japan by Shounanmaru No.2.
Japan is following International Law. (international whale fishing member association)
However, the international whale fishing member association was expelled by a crime as for seashepherd. The one not scientific is seashepherd

SSCS fired Pete Bethune because of bringing bow gun. SSCS said it is not in line with "Nonviolent" Policy. However, SSCS used many firearms.
1980: 3 magnetic mines, to sunk whaling vessel
1986: Using rifles to police
1986: explosive device in co-operation with ALF
1991: Sea Shepherd crews were armed with rifles
1992: Sea Shepherd crew shot at fishermen with bullets containing a red substance
1993: Paul Watson orders the crew to open cannon fire at a Japanese vessel.
