@AscariGood Whoa hey, a bass guitar is indeed a guitar, but there's no instrument called a lead guitar. It's just a guitar. A player may play rhythmic progressions (aka rhythm guitar) or plenty of notes with another guitar backing it up (aka lead guitar) depending on what they are doing.

Bass and guitar are totally not the same thing. They're incredibly different instruments to play. Are they similar in certain aspects yes but they are not the same thing.
