I loved the Ghost Recon and Killer Freaks presentation, but WTF was up with the Assassin's Creed presentation? What's with all the talk about architecture, shading and multicore processing stuff?! I am the biggest Nintendo fan but that "3 to 5 times" thing is complete bullshit.

Nintendo has never been about graphics. This graphics is more of a catchup+ for the PS3. So it may be as powerful, maybe a bit more, than the PS3. But not much more.

I love Nintendo.

@crackkatt Do you know about the Nintendo business model that was basically created by Gunpei Yokoi?

Every 5-10 years (a console generation) technology moves ahead 2 or 3 generations. If you use slightly outdated tech then you will be able to make a cheaper device that consumers can afford.

This was the model used for the portables for the longest time and even to this day. Nintendo also used the same model for the wii.

Nintendo always has been about gameplay over graphics.

@Hamhark98 I know your comment is 2 months old here but are you aware that the ZeldaU Tech Demo was created with an underlocked dev kit along with overheating problems? Here's the thing tho ,when developers recently received the full/proper dev kit ,they claimed it was more powerful than anticipated ,imagine what can be done now lol & since Zelda games always turn out better than the demos shown ,imagine the end result for Zelda HD ,afterall "it may look very different when complete"

Big hype for a new realistic wii Zelda became Skyward Sword (not what was expected)

So chances of the next Zelda being photorealistic are slim to none. Miyamoto has said he does not like making realistic games and Aounuma is pretty much in the same boat. And I think thats great but many people want those realistic Zeldas.

@Hamhark98 Wind Waker was basically a filler until TP was released & as you can tell ,it looked miles better than the demo & so what if SS went with an artistic style again? LOZ TP had it's turn with a realistic style before didn't it? Besides ,Iwata said in a shareholders conference that Zelda Wii U WILL be about the graphics & that the big N is NOT afraid to pull out the resources needed for such software ,also Miyamoto said Zelda HD is VERY real cause it is their first HD console

HD does not mean photorealistic. Disgaea 4 is HD unlike Disgaea 3 but its still anime styled.

Most avid Zelda fans agree it continues to age MUCH better than TP ,I was just pointing out that regardless TP took alot more resources, which increased dev time. As far as Zelda HD goes ,there's one little tidbit you should know, lastly Aonuma mentioned that the demo we saw at last year's E3 was a "starting point" but may look very different when the final product releases,which tells me seeing as dev kits have improved,it will look better.

@gundum1o1 I wouldn't mind a realistic looking Zelda game if it looked like the Zelda HD demo. TP was a bit too dark graphically (in contrast Majoras Mask was bright graphically but thematically dark which makes it a much better game) but I didn't mind the style.

I do prefer when Nintendo tries new things and does what they feel is the best for the series and not what other people think is best.

WW would never have happened if they listened to the fans and WW is awesome.

Look why are people like you still hating on nintendo, nintendo knows what they did wrong with the wii so there improving their new console with better online and getting some big third party companies to develop games for their new system. In my opinion the new generation will be microsoft and nintendo competing leaving sony behind like the last gen.

@getsomegames well every link i found the specs are about par with them though nintendo its bad since it was a fairly costly system where the only thing they improved was an input method... thats all any one was buying was the controller which would of been easy to install on either the consoles. They charged way too much originally for the specs being really under par where it was about on a ps2 level. The graphics we got out today we could make a console that would be 2-3x better than the ps3

@lotussheath Actually, I haven't found any links supporting that, THAT ORIGINATED AFTER the announcement. There are a bunch of sites, talking about Nintendo's confirmed DRAM structure(designed by IBM after Watson), and the other details like processors.

Now as far as being 2-3x more powerful, that's not how this next generation of games is going to be. There isn't much beyond because Graphics development is really slow. We're not gonna see the jump from GCN/PS2 era to this era.
