I love how he politely says "Excuse me" to the pimp instead of just brushing him off. It's such a small thing but really defines the character of Superman as a true man of the people.

I was a theatre manager at the time this was released. At the SOR invite-only screening (It wasn't common back then to have those) the entire audience broke into applause when he opened his shirt and revealed the big S.
