It pisses me off that irregardless is in some dictionaries, which serves to confuse the yokels even more, lol. At least my spell checker get it right :)
An "expert" Dr. (Phd, not MD) used irregardless on air the other day (major news show weekend morning), not a single person thought anything of it. Irregardlessness to his his year of disirregradfoollessness of speach while becoming a Dr. I word argue that at least he "got" his "moneys" worth. "I counldn't care less", but Mr Blair could have added some words to double speak, in his novel. As nice as it would be to not be overwhelmed, i suggest he add: regardlessness, disregardless, regardlessly
I hope that you guys realize that "aks" is an actual word that or once was socially superior to the version that is popular today ("ask"). "Aks" has been used throughout early texts, such as Elizabeth Gaskell's novel "Ruth" and it dates back even farther to Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales," in which he uses "ask" and "aks" interchangeably.
the customary manner in which a language or a form of a language is spoken or written: English usage; a grammar based on usage rather than on arbitrary notions of correctness.
I would have to disagree. Aks is in common usage, it's just not considered standard and people wrongfully associate stigmatized dialects with a lack of intelligence, when that's most definitely not the case.
Thanks to YTs wonderful new design, I can no longer find comments on a video to reply to, so I'll just post a new one. Here's my contribution to your definitions. Telling someone they are "hysterical" is really not a compliment. The word they probably intend to use is "hilarious."
Much betterer than I imaginated it was going to be, that was pretty cool at this time, you gets a 5 for learning us all to speak proper. 555, not that I needs it,I'm well endowed you know. love it. 55555. A sub coming up well done
I like that quotient better than the standard IQ numbers. The only thing that makes less sense than today's IQ numbers is the way American's score credit worthiness. It should be just a simple 1-10 or maybe 1-100. Instead it's something like 400-900...
And this stuff tells the sun, "Not today, maaan...."

Very interesting.
However, these days it's acts as a beacon to alert the listener that the user is under educated... outside of the Bronx anyway.
XD
Thanks for the comment.

Irregardlessly, it's not in common usage:
us⋅age /ˈyusɪdʒ, -zɪdʒ/ Spelled Pronunciation [yoo-sij, -zij] noun

I don't know how many times I've heard people say "AXE you a question" Makes me cringe.
In the NEWS, broadcasters, when talking about a missing child will say " They have GONE missing"
My grandmother, who was an English Teacher, would be rolling in her grave to hear how the language is being butchered today.

X-ualy I have heard they will ad 'nucular' to the dictionary.
They are still arguing about what the definition will be.
PuppyZwolle 2 years ago
I'm pretty sure... 20/20 is not IQ and is eye vision =3
bashscrazy 2 years ago
With my IQ I'm sure it's about IQ.
I even did the advanced IQ test. You need to guess if you got high or a low IQ and if you get it right you have a high IQ.
