Isn't international law, with all its flaws, the only thing that stands between us and rule of the jungle? I believe we have no choice but to keep truing but am not very optimistic it will ever work.
It is extremely difficult to get a superpower to change its mindset. In Rome, the superpower of its age, internal reform was quashed again and again by reactionaries and look what happened to them in the end. When Julius Caesar tried to reform Rome, the reactionaries stabbed him to death and the republic was transformed into a military dictatorship where the rich victimized the poor with brutal force. Don't think that it can't happen again.
Come on is the a deference in the Parties? None, both parties are catering to the needs of a few. Obama took up where Bush ended on every issue that got him elected.... We are under one party rule.
