we got lost on that road, 14 miles of pure hell, clings to valleys, very dangerous, not for the fainter heart. we got rescued by park rangers, thanks god to that !
@yourticketstogo I've been on roads a lot more hellish than that one, but I wouldn't want to run it with the wrong type of vehicle. Thanks for watching!
@michaelrossonline It's really beautiful down there. My 919 did get neglected this summer, but I took it out for a nice ride a few days ago, and there didn't appear to be any hard feelings!
@onejillion The time of the year, and being mid-week, translated into me having these roads and overlooks pretty much to myself. I love it down there!
Great video mate. Such awesome countryside to be riding through and a spectacular view of the valley from the lookout. It must have been really satisfying to finally get to ride the part of the trip you missed out on last time when you were on the 919. Thanks for sharing the experience and the views. Best wishes. Cheers.
@TKTex1 You're so right. The first time I showed up there on the 919 I was really bummed. That road was an integral part of the loop I had planned for the day, and it threw me a bit out of sync. Arriving there on the DR I was like, "hah! I've got you now!", and of course now I'm glad it isn't paved!
Wicked view mate !! be careful with those steps down to the overhang view lol my wife had butterflies in her stomach and that was just looking at your video hehehe she loves your posts too, thanks for sharing mate !!
Great video. I especially enjoyed the 919 segment. I own one and I have taken it down many of roads unsuitable for it. Not on purpose though. Lol. I'd ride it down that road too.
You can’t beat that N.C. scenery, that’s for sure. I’m amazed at all the out-of-the-way spots you are reaching. Do you find yourself riding much on major roadways as you do these excursions? Any major interstate riding, like I-40 or 26?
Made it to Asheville recently, but without the bike.
@Spacecoastz You've got that right! I do my best to keep the 4 lane action to an absolute minimum. The 4 lane total on my last trip was maybe 20 miles. I did shift bases from Bryson City to Marion NC in the middle of the trip, about 100 miles on the Smoky Mtn Pkwy and I-40, but that was with the bike in the truck.
Glad to see you discovered this area. Years ago, you could actually drive right down to the overlook area but they've changed it now. I camped there once and got to see the famous "Brown Mountain Lights" one night. Nice video DP.
@MAG315 I didn't know that you could drive down to the lookout at one time. It's probably a better experience having to take the short walk. A really nice spot!
I will swap you Tatham Gap and Tusquitte Gap for this one......where were you?

@SlooDon This looking out from Wiseman's View. It's about 4 or 5 miles south of Linville Falls, just off Old NC 105.

Thanks for sharing mate. That's some really nice countryside right there. Remember not to neglect the 919 or it'll get jealous :)

The mornings in the mountains are beautiful as the fog lifts. Beautiful view that you've found, DP. Such isolation!

@madwelshaber Believe me, I was definitely watching my step! Mind you, if I had managed to take a tumble, it would have been edited out anyway!

@studiogibson Thanks. I suppose I could have done that road on the 919, but I wouldn't have enjoyed it much!
