English is in many ways more complicated than Chinese. That said, you cannot just blindly compare languages like that. It just doesn't make any sense. You should think again about why everyone learns English.

We can't just say which language is more difficult when comparing Chinese and English. Both languages has its own complexity and varies in different ways. Like English, it's more difficult when it comes to grammar stuffs like that. Chinese do not require grammar however it does complex when writing. When it comes into writing Chinese is indeed much complex compared to English.

Try writing this out >>> I love You >>> 我 爱 你

English is much easier in this sense.

Dude, what are you talking about? Of course Chinese is harder than English. The writing in extremely hard, and the tones make learning how to speak it hard. English is just plain out easier. I can't even think of a language harder than Chinese. Even Japanese seems a lot easier compared to Chinese at lest for me it is.

@nitsujj2007 English pronunciation and spelling are much harder than Spanish ones, for instance. Chinese has a very difficult writing system, but other languages are more or less at the same level when it comes to difficulty. English grammar may be a little simpler but the ridiculous spelling makes up for that.

Just want to say, this guy's Chinese is just so so. Tones sometimes are off and speech sounds unnatural. When you're someone of European ancestry, the Chinese require less of you speaking perfect Chinese but you're treated like a celebrity. When you're someone of Asian ancestry, you're expected to speak perfect Chinese and the locals don't care how good you are, no matter how long you've learned it.

perhaps a little controversial in the sequence of the food but maybe true -some students like to eat noodles and dumplings very often-but it is also because we like it or we do have a low budget to live in here

...and honestly I didn't like the reporter showing off inviting- a huge meal in a fancy restaurant-to these foreign students- right-just after showing them eating a simple meal of dumplings (which is considered to be a really low cost food-in China)in their local mini restaurant... hmm the rest is ok - showing us how foreigners study and enjoy Chengdu

Interesting in how it seems so familiar in style. Basically it's a human interest story with seemingly (at least I didn't understand it as such) little discussion on why or how the students are learning zhongwen. The chinese instructor is given a brief appearance and then it's asking the foreign students to tell the camera how much they like studying in China.

I hope to heaven btw that they aren't being taught Chinese as the Chinese are taught English.
