It was made mostly in the basement of the LV. After the success of the pilot, NBC ordered a full season and subsequently the production built sets at a different location.

This is a brilliant episode. I remember thinking so when it originally aired. But the funny thing is, medical professionals are NEVER supposed to use the words "everything will be fine". It's an invitation for a malpractice suit.

Even I like all the 15 seasons, I liket this pilot episode particularly. The speed of actions in ER is more real than the last seasons. And all doctors have experienced such nights so often... :)
