this was fabulous. that kid has an awesome voice. and i think the public is too hard on simon cowell just like america in general was hard on piers morgan when he was on the apprentice. you have to realize that they are being shown in certain lights to play to the audience. as well, everyone on this planet can be sweet or demonic. simon cowell is just a human being who happens to be honest when it comes to music.

I think Simon asked him to sing a different song because Simon knew the song the kid picked wasnt right for him. Simon knew he could do better with a different style of song. And he did. Simon knew what he was doing.

well.. I believe that Simon really did understand that he had something REALLY special in front of him.. Just looking at the way he is licking his lips and seeing dollar signs with this kid makes it quite obvious, that he needed to see how the kid would react in case he got blown of in his concentration.. I believe he did a check on the kid to see HOW for real and ready for the world he really is.. He and all of us did get the answer Simon was hoping for.. :)

People think this was staged...basically simon knew the song he was going to sing first (and his second song) so simon says "you've got this all wrong" so he can then say "what else do you sing"

it makes simon look good aswell.

The song was wrong for the kids voice. He has a great vocie , but that doesnt meen you can sing everything. No artist can. Simon did a great call , and really improved the kids chances

I more often than not always fast forward past the other judges on American Idol and only listen to what he has to say. Paula is sweet, but she has a habit of babbling. Though I don't always agree with him *coughRing of Firecough* .

The boy looked pretty comfortable at the stage, he had the vibe, I think Simon realized that. Simon saw the amazing potential, and knew that the song wasn't good enough to show Shaheen's real potential. Bu yeah, Simon took a great risk there, but it was so worth it!

So the thing is that we all have realized that al the fucktards trying out in these contests do not have any self awareness. so now when we are used to see people fucking up we only want to see Simon give them the finger. so that's why we are more tolerant with Simon's outbursts when it happens, cause now we know that he knows what he's talking about.
