store brand computers are a mess.. custom builds are the way to go .. check out ncix dot com they have locations in ontario. you can get a new ps/2 keyboard fairly cheap .. or get a usb keyboard and a usb to ps/2 adaptor... I really wish I wasn't on the other end of the country so I could help you in person Bill
Just looks like a ps2 connection. Just get a usb keyboard. Start like $10 US and up from there. Unless there is more dickerness to the computerization mobilizations
And about the keyboard: you could just replace the cord if the plug is dickered. or search the net if you can enter the restore-thingie with a normal keyboard.
Always do (multiple) backups of important files and maybe go get some surge-protectors and UPS-thingies from APC. Here I've got two APC-SmartUPS-devices, one (APC SmartUPS1000) with 1kVA and the other (APC SmartUPS1500) has 1.5kVA and those thingies always make sure no power-disturbance crashes my computers :)
