  • pero que le pasa a Hitchcock???????

  • This is the best saluting speech ever. You'll never find another more beautiful. You can like Hitchcock, you can dislike him, you can like or dislike Jimmy. But it is the best speech ever. It can be resumed in five words: all we need is you. The history he told before was the preparation. Perfect. Just Perfect.

  • Jimmy Stewart is such an adorable man

  • My favorite movie of Alfred Hitchcock's( who, by the way, was the greatest of the greatest film directors of all time) is "Vertigo". My favorite movie of Jimmy Stewart's( who, by the way, is my favorite actor of all time) is "Vertigo".

  • Alfred has the exact same expression that you'd find on a farmers face while listening to his cows moooo

  • James stewart not alfred hitchcock, hitchcock would be a great laugh as a grandfather lol

  • This is the kind of man you wish could have been your grandfather, lovely man

  • Hitch & Stewart's relationship didn't blossom at all. Stewart was promised the North by Northwest role which was finally given to Cary Grant. Stewart also criticised his first Hitch film "Rope" which bombed in the box office. He was also vocal about script problems in "Rear Window". I can see why Hitchcock doesn't look impressed. I think Stewart is swiping him.

  • @airza It's more complicated than that. Hitch and Stewart had a fine working relationship until the former unfairly pinned Vertigo's box office failure on Stewart, saying that he wasn't attractive enough to attract audiences anymore. That's why he cast Cary Grant in North by Northwest. So, the bad blood between them can't all be blamed on Stewart.

  • his voiceeeeee! haha

  • A great tribute by a great actor to a great director. Both James Stewart and Alfred Hitchcock were one of a kind and were truly icons of Hollywood's golden age.

  • Hitch has been considered as a brilliant person with Asperger's Syndrome, posthumously. That's likely why he's not smiling for the applause.

  • Hitch looked like he was just propped up there. I don't think he was much into it.

  • Stoopid ads

  • Hitchcock looks thrilled. I've never seen someone so happy before.. 1:25

  • One of the biggest and most wonderfull directors of all times - my personal tribute to Mister Alfred Hitchcock

  • He IS amused, but it's just his humour to look little angry. Just listen his speech, he's very funny and clever.

  • I think Hitchcock may have died in his seat but no-one noticed...

  • Jimmy Stewart was without a doubt the 40s 50s and 60s best actor ever

  • He is too old to smile or have any reaction, in fact he died months after this..

  • Hollywood treated him very bad. Why should he be amused?

  • @Reptilico I agree, not to mention that he should have received his knighthood long before he turned 80. He was a master showman and knew how to make movies and scare the stuffing out of people.

  • HITCHCOCK NOT AMUSED.

  • @RevanDuvalcane NO he was very unwell

  • Hitchcock looks like a piece of bubble gum right after you popped it. Looks bored as well. I'm 21 years old and I love Jimmy Stewart, definitely one of the best actors of the 20th century.

  • I want to have his charm!!!!

  • @JuanMacready Why do you think James Stewart was a racist? I would really like to know.

  • He may have been old and sick, but Hitch's acceptance speech, is CLASSIC!!

  • Mrs. Hitchcock looks less amused than Hitch.

  • in the shot of Hitch after Jimmy said he was articulate he looked anything but articulate

  • I love Alfred's face. "I AM DA MASSTAH!"

  • they ahould have done this for him 5 years earlier. ditto for his knighthood. hitch is one of those people who truly never got the respect and admiration they deserved during their prime.

  • Hitchcock was a bundle of energy that night.

  • Hitchcock is looking like a ''zombie'' because he was at that time one year from death. I think that's why James Stewart chose to salutes him, because he knew about his bad health or something. James Stewart died in 1997, 18 years later.

  • Hitchcock was a bit of a dick just sitting there like a boiled shite....

  • @niall29 : fuck you he was a directing king. He can sit the way he wants too. If you direct "Rebecca", "Strangers on a Train", "Shadow of a Doubt", "Rear Window", "The Man Who Knew Too Much", "Vertigo", North By Northwest", "Psycho", and "The Birds", then you can talk.

  • @captainkill1 As a viewer of all his movies i can comment any which way i like thank you very much. The fact is....HE DID SIT THERE LIKE A BOILED SHITE during the homage....that is beyond dispute. So your problem is what exactly? You are angry to the extent you tell me "fuck you" over that?? What age are you? 11? Cop on to yourself you idiot.

  • @captainkill1 And might i add from all the comments i have seen posted on your profile, by all accounts you are a hateful, racist, inbred little prick. So im not going to bother debating with scum like you. You are blocked. Asshole.

  • @niall29

Just sitting there? Do you realize how old Alfred Hitchcock was at this point?? Besides, Hitch had a face, an accent and an image to uphold. lol.

You do know that Al never won as many awards as he truly deserved, right?

  • @niall29 he was sick and dying, so please give him a break. I am sure he appreciated all the praises showered upon him.

  • All we need is YOU!

    Damn, that was brilliant!

  • Hitchcock should control himself, he's practically all over the place.

  • the 70s were amazing

  • what year was this?

  • 1979

  • @SammieB86 1979. Hitch passed on in 1980. He was born in 1900.

  • @uayfb1 it is not correct: Hitchcock was born on August 13th in 1899 in Leytonstone/England. He died on April 29th 1980 in Los Angeles.

  • @TheNepomuk83 Thank you for the correction. My bad.

  • Jimmy is classic.

  • Someday we'll all be as old and withered as them - let's hope we have some life's work to look back on like them!

  • jimmy stewart!

  • who is the girl at 2:38 ?

  • i'm pretty sure that's Jimmy stewart's wife Gloria.

  • UPDATE! Alfred Hitchcock blinks at 3:17. ..

  • @Interview1998 I do have to laugh at that, the poor man does look totally out of it. I only hope he got to enjoy his evening.

  • I like the way that they decided to continue with the tribute evening despite the fact that Hitchcock had passed on several hours earlier.

  • The animatronic Jimmy Stewart was also a nice touch.

  • Yes, but the CGI on Ingrid Bergman needs some work.

  • @Aueneye Haha great comment

  • hitchcock never lost his wonderful poker face :P

  • apparently at that time, smoking was ok

    2:36

  • @dannytong71 Smoking is still ok. It's just not allowed in many places but, it's a legal product for which we pay a lot of taxes.

  • maybe you got me wrong, what I meant was smoking was ok in that kind situation like the award conferring ceremony with thousands of people attending

  • You're probably right. I'm a smoker and get more than a little testy about political correctness. But let's not allow that to detract from this great Hitchcock story by Jimmy Stewart.

  • Actually I am a smoker too

  • @dannytong71 Smoke 'em if you got 'em. ;)

  • @dannytong71

didn't you know? smoking wasn't as bad for you back then >.>

  • Comment removed

  • I think my man was taking a dump in his depends.

    But seriously...brilliant direector

  • I shit my pants @ 1:26. His expression is priceless!

  • Oh man, look at his face.

  • I agree. Infact, Alfred Hitchcock would even say that James was way too old for the part after it was released to a lukewarm reception.

  • Sign my petition to stop Universal pictures form remaking The Birds!

The link is on my profile.

  • 1:26

Hitchcock expression translated to words: "It's that cocksuckin' Jimmy Stewart, again..."

  • Hitchcock was famous for being expressionless. It was his way.

  • hitchcock does not look amused

  • @SlothGunner he was really sick! died a couple of months later

  • @SlothGunner its the year before he died - he might not be well

  • Legends all around.

  • Alfred Hitchcock looks like a zombie lol

  • He was one year away from death. And that's nothing to laugh about. Especially when I think about those awful gossip surrounding this particular evening which dragged out in Biskind's book "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls".

  • what kind of gossip?

    gossip about hitch?

  • He is in his late 70's i think

  • Our splendid actor Jimmy Stewart. Amazing Alfred Hitchcock. I'd rather hear Jimmy's voice than listen to the London Symphany.
