@RainingPeachRings I once had a chicken that was able to fly like a normal bird. Most chickens can't fly because they've been over fed which makes them lazy. There are some chicken flying videos on youtube.

My sebright bantam chickens are superb flyers and soar around my property flying past my house as good as any bird.

They are terrestrial birds but in the wild need to to fly to evade predators and go to higher ground. Some species of wild chicken can fly as good or even better than ducks.
