Darn I was hoping I was the 800th !!! Am trying to get a replacement for that gift that never got to you from Shawn are you still at the same address....Rick Davis / Bangladesh !!
Being happy is my greatest objective as well, because what is life if you can't be happy? Later on this year I'm moving to Mississippi with my husband and I think that's going to be a huge step in continuing my happiness. I've been writing a lot lately, and that makes me happy as well. :]
Punishment: singing a song you detest in public. Or ask people on the street for food and then blenderize whatever you get.
One goal I've had in mind recently is to leave my mark, in a positive way, on the world or an individual's life.
In the long run, I could achieve that by finishing my major and becoming a teacher. On a smaller scale I would like to mentor someone one-on-one to pass on what I've learned in life or just in school. Daily, I can do this by just being nice/polite to anyone.
I am not sure that I can press my life into corporate identity terms. My goals change, and even when my goals don't change, my objectives sometimes have to change to achieve the same goals. Just for one simple example, I want to be a creative and contend person. Do I achieve this by sitting and writing, or do I achieve it by helping my kids with homework? Both have rewards, both neglect the other. Life is complicated...
Hapiness is a good one as it encompasess everything.
Specific things this YEAR would be to get my new business up and flying. Also to fix my total inertia and become part of the uploading community here on youtube. Would also LOVE to go to Vid Con for a summer holiday.
To that end, I was two things of this year: VidCon and an acceptance letter.
To get to VidCon, I need money. I can't get a job because I am busy with school work and extra curricular activities. So I would need to earn it through grade-money from my grandparents.
Getting good grades would come through doing my homework, which I am ignoring now.
The college stuff ties into the grade things. Huh. Thanks for making me think, Morgan!
My goal is to also be happy, and for my philosophy class, we had to try and answer a "big question" and mine was "Is knowledge necessary for happiness?"
I basically concluded that it will vary from person to person, and for me, it isn't necessary, but very helpful.
One of the things I brought up was is all this schooling needed for happiness. I think I answered no, but, as parents keep saying, it does make things easier later on.
My first objective I'm working towards is to live a sustainable and independent life (financially, I'll get into the other kind in a bit). I want to have a good paying job to support myself, and possibly a family.
I also want to be able to pay back my parents and help them retire, all of which requires money.
Also, i want to be able to pursue my passions, which also involve money and an education.
then my final objective would be to contribute back to the world. I can't leave without not giving back.
This is where environment comes in with $ and schooling. I want to live a sustainable life myself, then I want to teach it (unless the world lives by it by the time I'm older.... I can always hope).
I can't really narrow down things for just this year, other than graduate high school. I guess since my objectives themselves are vague, I'll spend this year discovering HOW to achieve them.
My ultimate goal is to be satisfied with all aspects of my life, not just one or two. The biggest milestone being finding a career job I enjoy more than just occasionally (like my current job :s) The second being finding that right person to share my life with. However since finding a good job is much more direct than finding that right someone, I'm focusing on that first, graduating with my BS by December; and not stressing about being single. I'm young, we've got time ;)
For a punishment, I'm suggesting you do an entire video in an upside-down position. Like handstands, or hanging off of a pieces of furniture. ... just don't do it for Cooking With Awesome, that's dangerous!
Pickle punishments are lame.
My first goal for the year is to start working on my oral storytelling, whether it's a personal story or some other tale.
I can understand that then XD! A friend of mine bought one of those HUGE Pickles at the fair D= I took one bite since she offered, and it was dripping allll over and it tasted rather bad XD
I love pickled asparagus, mushrooms, and other tasty foods XD
Pressed enter too soon. Mutter mutter Cursed laptop keypad growl snarfle snarfle growl.
The rainy bit at the end was actually very pretty. We had snow here today -- it was pretty, too.
I don't have a lot of BigWowGoals. This could be why I haven't accomplished much in my life. :-)
I do need to find a job. Working on that by watching YouTube videos. Heh. No, really, I'm re-working my cv and doing aptitude assessments and all that jazz. Can't afford to be home with my kids any more. Boo.
Finish my book. Breaking it down into 10pg objectives and then writing a page or two a week. I think that's pretty doable after experiencing Nanowrimo! Punishment: Taking a cue from the vlogbrothers and blending your favorite meal.
my goal this year is to get into school for a trade. i wanna some day work in, or own an automotive customization and fabrication shop. i need a frame welding ticket, so i might try to get into school for welding.
good to see another VWA video Morgan! i was going through withdrawls haha

My main goal is to move to SF. And there are many smaller goals that are associated with that.
However, my 'happy' goal is to finish the third and final revision on my novel. If I get that done this year, happiness be thy constant companion.

Morgan, if you insist on punishment, I must suggest one of the more nerdfighterial punitive staples: You must eat a blenderised gourmet meal.
HighKingTurgon 2 years ago
Also, fun fact: I love how your hair looks Rotoscoped.

Or a blenderized meal made from the list of foods around the kitchen Morgan asked us for a while back.

This year, like some people are saying, I want to get to VidCon. I need money, friends, transportation, plans, plans, plans.
A main goal in my life that I'm working towards right now is becoming a selling, artistic screenwriter and filmmaker.
Ideally, I want to be the female equavalent of Joss Whedon or Tim Burton, and I think with hard work and creativity, that's possible.
As for a punshiment: make a cake with twenty ingrediants, at least five of which are not for cakes, and eat it.

I want to be in a professional orchestra, or at least pursue some sort of career in music. Goals this year would be:
1. Not die in pit orchestra for spring musical. :D
2. Maintain first chair clarinet spot.
3. Find someone local to restart private lessons with.
4. Research good music colleges.
5. Get into Region Band/All-State.

I wanna be happy and paint for myself and have my own studio space short term i need a good job and a new place to live.
1. find a well paying job that doesn't kill my soul and has good hours. but first settle for anything right now.
2. by the summer i want to know where i want to move to with my already picked out roommate who is working towards the same goal.
3. don't stop taking art classes
you should be punished by making tons and tons of cookies and mailing them to whoever wants some!

I think you forgot two other important sub goals. 1) Make lists of things to accomplish in a notebook. 2) Scratch them off as you achieve them!
Both excellent goals.
I don't think you should punish yourself as much as set a new, achievable goal. How about three videos this week? :)

Ultimate Goal: Be successful. Not necessariy wealthy (although that would be a nice bonus lol) just successful.
1. Figure out what I want to do with my life. I'm torn between being an Interior designer and being a therapist at the moment.
2. Achieve a 3.5 or better consistently for ever semester of college courses I take.
