  • a roodoodoo! lol awesome

  • When I die, I sure as hell don't want to come back as a rabbit.

  • Violets gone.

  • The ROODOODOO!!!

  • Lols love how Violet is in the movie and gets picked up by a hawk, but in the book she's nonexistent...

  • Fiver's a creepy little shit isn't he?

  • @LizzieP865 Haha agreed.

  • 4:00 it's hedwig!!!

  • violet NOOOOOOOO!

  • 3:40 woahahaha that rat mess up with the wrong rabbit >:D

  • OMG a barn owl!! I just started reading Guardian's of Ga'hoole to! xD

  • The humans call them "assholes," but they're harmless.

    *ZOOOOOM*

    ASSHOOOOOOO...

  • 1:50 Well fiver was a bit useless here, the least he could have done was "HEY!, LOOK OUT A HAWK!"

  • the owl is like "WHAT-"

  • 3:05 Bigwig disappears for a frame

  • "See? It's not interested." VROOM!

  • So... does Cowslip look like some sort of dope-head to anyone else? (I thought he was supposed to be big and handsome and black. Here he resembles that of a chocolate-covered ragdoll...)

  • @NorthyXGuard Cowslip scares the crap outta me. He's just creepy.

  • 4:59 I've actually done that before.

  • I don't like the beginning of this video, It has been revealed to me, that painterly set pieces look much too more realistic compared to the characters & animation. They don't seem to match togeather. Don't get me wrong I am liking the movie so far plot-wise, but art and art direction is a very bad place for any animated movie of any kind to be flawed like this in. As for the drawing. I've seen done better 10 years before this one, heck, in some scenes, I can say movies 40 years ago done better.

  • Cowslip runs just like a welshman. Doesn't he run like a welshman?

  • They ruined the poem...!! "the shining circle of the sun, the sun and the rabbit."

That might be my favourite poem ever.

  • that was supposed to be a barn. not a cemetary

  • Why do I get the sudden feeling of cannibalism?

  • Convinient, violet, the only doe of the group, is now dead. One doe was all they needed!

  • Geez Fiver thanks for warning her. Seriously he could have a least shouted "look out!".

  • Sweet baby Jesus.

Hawkbit, Acorn, and Speedwell aren't even in this </3

  • @omarisnotaloosa They aren't? Yeah they are, aren't they? I saw them, I swear!

  • @xWalkthroughxGuru Ficking no. No Hawkbit, Acorn, Speedwell, Bluebell, Silverweed, Strawberry, Thethunninang, or Nelthilta.

    KILLIN' ME.

  • @omarisnotaloosa NOOOOO!!! THIS IS SO STUPID. You gotta be kidding me.

  • @omarisnotaloosa Well, I think that Hawkbit, Acorn and Speedwell were in the group. They were the ones wanting to go back.

  • @Neobunny14 But they didn't in the book..

  • @omarisnotaloosa Yes they did. It was just at the very beginning, when they were in the bogs. Three rabbits, the aforementioned ones, were uncertain of where they were headed and wanted to go back. Later, of course, everybody started working together and didn't question each other. :D

  • Rabbits will always need tricks!

Silly rabbit; tricks are for kids!

  • @Churchcantor It had a lot of positive comments. Make it so again!

  • Rudoodoo

  • Lmao the transcribe audio caption is funny it says random stuff like:

when we lived in an embarrassment

routed to it runs on it

Louise blotch look we cant go on my face gets worse and worse for for the we English business

    cuts before his women wealth

and probably get killed the warning captain holly and i was not officer

  • @TheCoco47 reminds me of a madgab game.

  • No, no it won't take any notice...Unless it happens to be my girlfriend driving and she kills us both swerving to miss you. Dick.

  • I hate Cowslip!

  • @mostpiousheathen movies were made different than the books to avoid lazy teenagers who-were-supposed-to-read-the-book-for-english-class just watching the movie, claim that "They read the book", and recite the book word-for-word as they saw it in the movie.

  • 3:57 My Ming vase, you fucking assholes!

  • take this movie... now show it to your children when they're four years old.

now make this into their favorite movie. I'm more than certain they'd turn out VERY "normal" lol

  • Where are you going stream?, far far away. Take me with you stream, take me on your Dark journey, Lord Frith oh take me, take me far away to the hearts of light. The silence, I give you my breath, my life... the silence...

  • I realise now that people are right... what was the point of adding Violet in when they just kill her off?!

  • @Fitzwilliamdarcy1000 Because death sometimes just happens.

  • @mushroommark but shes not in the book

  • HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! The rat's scared the shit outta me.

  • ZOMG, it's a rabbit on meth!!

  • The red car coming from the other direction scared the crap out of me.

  • aww good old Series 2 Land Rover.

  • Did anyone notice how Bigwig disappears for a second at 3:05?

  • Thank you for that, I stand corrected. I always assumed that any animal whose teeth continue to grow and will do so even without something to gnaw on was a rodent. You're right though, I've checked that out. Well said. ;)

  • That's not correct. Rat and rabbits don't have a problem with eachother. They're both rodents. Rodents of a different strain, but still rodents.

  • @101truthhurts Rabbits are not rodents, theyre Lagomorphs. they are actually in a class to themselves. :)

  • Are all these dang rabbits male? I havent seen the first female on the journey, besides all their names like violet are female hmmm weird.

  • @thehorsegirl93 Actually, the weirdest thing about this movie is what the rabbits call somethings; they called our cars "Rhududus". Isn't that kinda strange?

  • @SidRulz100 yah it kinda is lol

  • @thehorsegirl93 Violet was the one female and she was killed. One female rabbit would have been all they'd needed!

  • @TheArsenalgooner

Violet wasn't even a character in the book

  • 9:31, Cowslip suddenly vanishes!

  • Aw everyone is sleeping they're so cu-HOLY OH MY GOSH RATS!

  • Who the fuck is Violet? They're all males in the book! S'why they went to Efrafa!!

  • @TheFloatingBox They have to cut things in the film for time restraints. Watch the whole movie before making assumptions. :I

  • Someone should make a live action version of the movie.

"No animals were harmed in the making of this picture..."

    Maybe not.

  • thumbs up if you think ppl that jumped at the rats are pussies.

  • Friggen rats, SHUT UP *throws shoe at them*

  • See, is'not intrested! *car drives past* HOLY FAK!

  • They're called "Beep Beep, get out of the way asshole," But they're harmless.

  • I WAHNNA SEE SOME BLOOOD

  • Felidae was better..I saw the whole thing & I'm 12.

  • @2002tiif Read the book. Actually, I loved Felidae, but you really can't approach Watership Down the movie without reading the book. There are just some things the movie, good as it is, had to leave out. Is there a book for Felidae? Nein, ich denke nicht!

  • @Churchcantor Dang, actually I was wrong about that! There is a Felidae book! Guess I will have to read it then!

  • @Churchcantor I am getting the Watership Down book soon

  • @2002tiif It will be one of the most important books of your life. I'm sorry I was wrong about Felidae being a book, I will try to read it.

  • @Churchcantor Alright,I'm getting this book this saturday (I hope)

  • @Churchcantor its like a rule: when you make a movie out of a book, you leave half the book out. its mostly little details, but sometimes they leave big events out. And usually, when you see the movie first, it somewhat ruins the book, because then you keep waiting for the added parts to come in when they never don't.

  • Poor Violet, though I couldn't say that it weren't expected.

  • look, I think you should all stop arguing because every child is different. Some CAN handle heavy stuff like this movie, but I also know several who can't without getting nightmares. Lumping all kids together to decide what they should watch isn't fair, so just make sure to keep that in mind when your discussing the ethics of showing bloody rabbits to kids.

  • @Livin4TheKing316 Don Bluth had a philosophy that children can handle almost everything as long you attach it to a happy ending.

  • wow... i watched this when i was about 7 with my sister and i remember thinking , "Look at the bloody bunnies!! Cool..." Now I watch this and i'm like, "Where are the zombie rabbits???"

  • cowslip looks like a heroin addict

  • @StanSmithShoe no, scented markers. he keeps sticking his nose in the air like he's still smelling them.

  • @StanSmithShoe fiver's hopped up on the meth,,,,,...hopped hah...rabbits..

  • @StanSmithShoe yeah

  • the move is rated pg . even though plague dogs is rated PG13

  • this movie is for anyone and everyone i have no clue why everyone is going on about what age you need to be to see the movie. its a great movie, and im going to show it to my kids as soon as i think they will be able to grasp the main points of the plot. i think everyone should, and then they should read it later on so they can again appreciate it in a new way, being able to see the statement about human development and overpopulation, government, religion, etc.

  • I thought in the book that blackberry was a female

  • 0:00 - 0:27 best part ever! :D

  • fuck the rats' screech caught me by surprise! My heart almost came out!

  • do rats naturally hunt rabbits????

    thought they were both rodents?

  • @ugotpimp Rabbits aren't rodents but leporids. Rats eat everything they find & can kill. Rabbits are sometimes included on their menu.

  • @xxrobloxiaxx The story line is the same, but there's a lot of differences, some characters aren't in the movie at all, like Bluebell (he was supposed to be with Holly, he's the comedian in the book), Strawberry who joins them from the warren with all the wires, Blackavar doesn't die in the book, there's a lot more rabbit-mythos side stories. The book actually made me cry at the end. I'd hate to be cliche, but I'd definitely recommend reading the book, it's a much different experience.

  • This movie is a classic!

  • great film , love it , this'll sound crazy but i find the fact that there's blood and stuff in the film, makes it more interesting don't ask me why i just do lol, i truly think and believe it's not for kids

  • @RachelNo1mjfan88 yet almost everyone i know who read the book and saw the movie was a kid when they first saw it. i think its for anyone who can look past a little blood and stuff. its a story that shouldnt really have anything to do with age everyone should read and watch the damn thing.

  • This movie scared the shit out of me when I was 8 years old

  • Is Cow Slip gay ? owo

  • when was this made?

  • I love how they created violet just to have her killed! She wasn't even in the book.

  • Everytime I search for scary children's movies, this shows up on the list. I wish there were more movies like this.

  • Roodoodoo X3

I thought BlackBerry was a female?

  • @SunWhiteWolf Nope, Blackberry's a male. ;)

  • @SunWhiteWolf Blackberry was female only in the TV series. In the book and film, Blackberry was male.

  • is this a kids movie? cuz when i was like 5 i watched this. and i was freaking out. LMAO! (Btw awesome vid)

  • @MidnightWolf669 no this is not a kids film. But I think many kids wanted to see this just because it was animated and had rabbits in it.. and when the film went on the truth of the film got to them heh ;)

  • @Jefrma O_O really? this isn't a kids film? o_O

  • @LyricNyanCat the book was anything but made for small children, and here they didnt soften the story one inch. So no I really dont see why any would see this as an animation made for children of all age.. Btw- atm am reading firebringer, a book written like 20yrs after watership down. Some WD-fans claim it´s a pure ripoff but I tell ya, if firebringer would have been made into animation, WD WOULD have looked like kids film compared to that!

  • @Jefrma it was made for children though, if not small ones. the author told it to his kids thats how its started. I would say like 7 or 8 would be a good age to read the book and then watch the movie. really though i dont see why kids shouldnt watch the movie. i wouldnt let a 3 year old watch it, but it is a kids movie for the most part, that can be re appreciated later in life

  • @jthundercat23 ..I doubt adams told his kids the bloody and violent parts. Sure this is concidered a fiction/fantasy for young adults but 7-8yrs?? You´d have to be at least ten if not older to understand what the hec is even going on in the story! For a child under 10yrs I´d say it´s just too complicated.

  • @Jefrma yah but you wouldnt know if he did or not! maybe his kids werent a bunch of pansies..hahaha well i was made to read to it at (around) that age, prlly more like 8 or 9 though and your right i didnt really get all of it or anything like that, there were probably things that went over my head until i read it later, but i still loved the book, and i understood the basic plot. not saying everyone should read it that would be the youngest i would let someone watch the movie.

  • @jthundercat23 a kid that age not liking watching violence and blood floating aint a pansie, but a NORMAL kid. and if I´d find a small kid actually LIKING to watch such, I´d suggest their parents to remove all such games, movies and books from their house for a while, since such case would be not only creepy but also alarming. I might read my child stories of el ahrairah, and proceed from there by the time he/she gets older.

  • I've always wondered this, and never come up with a good conclusion, but what is up with Cowlsip's warren?

  • @ShroomyGurl Hello :) Just read that bit in the book. Cowslip's warren is so perfect because a farmer puts out food for them and grows them big and healthy, then he traps a few of them. He's farming them basically. But the rabbit's are living in denial, there is always food for them so they refuse to acknowledge the truth that they're being farmed and never speak about the traps or anyone who dies. Any help? :)

  • @GeorgeThoughts Yes, thanks. :P As a matter of fact, shortly after posting this, I got to the chapter where I found out that Cow Slip's warren is being farmed. I am really loving the book! ^0^ I'm halfway through it already!

  • @ShroomyGurl It's wonderful that people are reading the book for the first time due to the posting of the movie. It's the kind of book that can change one's life!

  • @Churchcantor It really is! :P It's showing me the english countryside in a new way; from the perspective of rabbits.

  • @ShroomyGurl That is a good observation; I have read the book several times, and professional critics make the point that one of the major themes of the book is the English countryside! (Seems maybe that comment was on the back of the book.)

  • @Churchcantor This is my first time reading the book, and I can't believe what I've been missing out on for all these years. :D

To be honest, I didn't really notice it until I read the comment on the back of the book; and then I was like "Oh yeah! :P The english countryside description is so vivid and beautiful!"

Richard Adams is such a genius~

  • @ShroomyGurl Me Churchcantor! So, I sing in a church! Go forth, and love the world!

  • Where are you going stream? Far, far away? Take me with you stream, take me on your dark journey. Lord Frith, oh take me, take me away to the hearts of life. A silence, I give you my breath, my life, a silence.

  • at 4:07 did hazel just do a backflip? HAHAHA

  • FUCK! The rats made me jump when i put it on high volume!

  • She's dead jim.

  • thumbs up if the rats made you jump.

  • @jacksobrooks its wasnt the rat that made me jump but the badger in the last video

  • im only watching this bc i have to read the book and rather see the movie

  • @NinjaOfTinFoil the movie is amazing. the book is a thousand times better though.

  • hrududu

  • I once heard an interesting quote. The quote was:

If I saw a rabbit in my garden, I'd probably shoot it.

    Who said that? Richard Adams!

  • why the hell didnt fiver warn violet instead of just staring?

  • Man! Do those rats have to be so loud?

  • This might be the most fucked up movie ever but it might just have the most epic and beautiful sound track ever written.

  • Fiver: Ah she's pretty.. A hawk... Awh shit...

    *Takes her*

    Fiver: We're fucked.

  • GO DENHAM ELLIOT!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Cowslip: an English fop, I mean lop.

  • if anyone here has seen animals of farthing wood, that hedgehog on the road died trying to get to white deer park.

  • @KatherineLP Oh shut up it makes no sense.

  • are you spastic?

  • @KatherineLP KALIMA.

  • @sauske119 XD Lol.

I thought of it more as "Sweet! All-you-can-eat buffet tonight!"

  • Fiver has panphobia!

  • "Rabbits will always need tricks!"

"Silly rabbit; Trix are for kids!"

  • @Churchcantor "You share!" Gotta love Family Guy!

  • @Churchcantor I did literally 'lol'.

  • @Churchcantor Lol, nice Watership Down/Kill Bill cross-reference. Made me lol. :P

  • :23 I swear to god, I thought one them was going to get hit by a car.

  • Does anyone else love Cowslip as a character? He's horriblly messed up but i love him

  • @outrayjess I love the way that in every incarnation, he has an evil posh English accent. XD

  • im reading this book in school! hahahahah

  • @mmirzzi a man feeds them while periodically taking them (for food or fur, presumably). The old rabbit wants to reap the benefits of a free meal while sacrificing the unsuspecting strangers...

  • @Arenicolous It's all in the book. The warren was originally a big one, then myxmatosis (sp?) came and most of the rabbits died. The farmer nearby decided to reap the benefits of the nearby warren rather than keep the rabbits on his farm. He shot all the elil (rabbit enemies) and put out food far away from the warren so that the rabbits would get used to going about the fields. Then he put out snares. The rabbits then forgot all rabbit customs, danced and sang, and made poems about death.

  • heyy, can someone tell me, i never understood why doesnt he tell about the others at 8:00 ?? and what the hell is going on there? :D

  • @mmirzzi, your comment is a month old but I'll answer anyway :D Cowslip will not tell Hazen n' friends where the others are because...well to be mostly spoiler-free, it's forbidden to ask where anybody is in Cowslip's warren, because if you don't know where they are, there's a good chance they're dead.

  • That scene in Cowslip's warren creeped the SHIT out of me as a kid.

  • Here I am, watching it again. Must have seen it twenty times. I've only read the book seven or so times! Best adaptation ever...

  • 0:24 Red car's registration number starts 'WD' - Watership Down?

  • 1:12 hazel-rah sonny moo.

  • HAZEL-RAH I KNEW IT

  • dude it's like fiver is schizophrenic or something...

his eyes change at around 5:25 omygod that fuckin freaked me out...

  • the roododo...

  • @MushroomAlice hrududu

  • @MushroomAlice actually it's hrududu. It's in the book.

  • *A hawk comes and kills Violet, the only female*

    Males- "...SHIT!"

  • HAHAHA thats a good one HAHAHA

  • @smartycat171

57 people gave your comment Thumbs Up - all morons.

  • @TheIntruders I can really give a shit if you think I'm a moron :D I just thumbed up his comment despite you!

  • Did anyone else see Bigwig disappear @3:05? I know I did.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the amazing Disappearing Rabbit!" lol

  • This film is traumitising! Poor rabbits :(

  • So, like, half of the travelers were left for dead by the rats and the owl? What happened to we're in this together?

  • cowslip looks like such a priss when he hops. also i <3 the rabbit word for car, Hrududu

  • I made the mistake of deciding to watch this at 11:00 pm.... In the dark.... Those rats scared the s*** outta me.

  • "What's happening back home I wonder? Think, back when we lived in our own burrows eh? Dry, soft.... warm bodies hmm hehe hmm BWAACK!!"

    lol

  • aaaah shit! I'm watching Watership Down the first time in my life, I have never heard of it before, I have no idea how it's going to end or what's going to happen, though after reading these comments I'm pretty sure it's not going to be anything nice and good....... I'm afraid to watch more <:D
