@thisissoodd no, it was set just after. when monicas dad is shown dead, he is really seda. seda and sophia had monica as their child. this was one of the very few similarities between the 2 games

I'm pretty sure Seda is from ancient times and that was only 400 years before Toan. Ancient times in Dark Cloud 2 were 1000 years in the past.

well the second one had to come second because there are two moons in dark cloud one and at the end of dark cloud 2 (dark chronicle) the second moon ends up being destroyed so dark cloud 1 comes first

In the very beginning of the second game, when Monica runs into her father's room and finds Gaspard standing over him, look closely at the room and the body on the ground. You'll see that the room is the same bedroom where Toan tries to stop the Dark Genie from being born, and the figure on the ground is Seda. Monica is Seda's daughter, one hundred years in the future from Max's time and 400 years before the first game

@DenarianLord okay i can see how that can be possible. But i do have one thing that disproves your theory. In the second game, Sirus uses the second moon in the sky to save the world. and in the first game, the moon is still there. The moon people couldnt have just made another one just in case. If seda wanted to get the atlamatillia in the past and gaspard killed him, why would seda have time to raise kids? just something to think about of course ^^

@DenarianLord That doesn't explain anything. Why does the first game have two moons when Max and Monica witness the Second Moon vanish from the sky at the end of Dark Cloud 2? Moons do not magically reappear in thin air over the course of 400 years.
