dave is and was great. jack irons is underrated. matt is a great drummer too, he just has a different style than the others. nobody talks about dave krusen hahaha but why would they?!?!

I think if Dave left the band on his own accord, or even died of an overdose, people would be more understanding of his departure from Pearl Jam. He was unceremoniously fired and never really given a reason at the time and i think thats what people remember or know about the issue. I guess ideally Pearl Jam fans are expected to believe they were/are a band about being honest and having integrety about views etc and when they go and do what the did with Dave, it makes them look hypocritical.

This video is amazing as it starts with total sunlight and ends in darkness, capturing the sun slowly going down throughout!

So glad I found this video, I was at this concert and I remember the fence coming down as people were climbing over it to get to the show, and down the big hill they rolled! Best show I've ever been to, outdoors, perfect weather watching Pearl Jam in their prime during a beautiful sunset. So much energy from this band.

I am drummer who pretty much inspired to Dave Abbruzzese - who can be seen on this footage!

So... this is just a GOLDEN THING TO ME!

And also I'd like to say - This drummer should be recollaborate with Pearl Jam!!

This is the only way Pearl Jam to get back to type of Quality-sounded-bands!!

@nsotelo77 Far from Matt Cameron sucking. Quite the opposite, but I share AmazedDexter's views. Dave just had massive amounts of energy. Some 17 & 1/2 years on, I'm still bumed about Dave being fired. I should get over it, but thwn I can just watch this and see Pearl Jam at their peak - with Dave, rather than rockers aging gracefully under Matt. Each to their own. Thanks for the inspiration Dave. You will never be forgotten.

So how come this vid has barely over 2k views? Isn't the Pearl Jam community fairly tight? Why doesn't this vid have more than a million views??

I was at this show. Blind Melon open and Neil Young followed. Total chaos which the camera doesn't really capture. The Gorge didn't have the nice rounded grassy hill yet and people from up there came down the rocky cliff which caused a lot of problems for those below. Then the fence up front came down. The security was totally overwhelmed.

All that being said this will def go down as one of the best shows ever. Thanks for posting.
