As a side note, I am the Class of '77 and was a professional photographer living in Bryan at he time the stacks fell. In fact, I took the last known photograph of the stacks the morning of the day it fell. I will never forget how deeply that event affected the Aggie community. B/CS and the University was forever changed on that fateful night. May God forever be with the spirits of those who passed in Final Review.
25 seconds ago My aunt by marriage, her brother died in this collapse his freshman year. Michael Stephan Ebanks, was a second brother to me. I only knew him for 2 years before he lost his life on that cold november evening. @2:38 Michael will always be here in my heart.
I never LAUGHED so hard in my life when that bonfire pile came down on those stupid aggies.
My side hurt I laughed so much. Even more amusing was all of the crying, hugging, teary eyed tributes and all of that other sickening stuff after those idiots got crushed.
I can't believe you would actually say something so heartless. 12 A&M students died. They didn't get hurt, they DIED! I still can't believe someone would say something so horrible. Bastard...
To all of my fellow Aggie fans, this is most certainly a day we will never forget. Never. The Spirit of Aggieland is still strong, and it always will be. Those 12 fallen Aggies, will be in our hearts forever...
I was in my dorm room when I heard a bunch of girls screaming and crying and running down the hall.
It was then when they told me that the bonfire logs collapsed.
I looked out and saw the disaster....and busted out laughing!! Man...that was so funny...all the twisted bodies and blood and screaming by hysterical co-eds.
So funny....I wish they would bring it back so we could have another collapse. I would put it on You Tube...LOL
How the hell could you laugh at people dying from such a terrible tragedy?! What if that was a member of your family under those logs? That is just terrible.
Well done! Thanks for posting! I wish such a tribute weren't necessary. I was a senior at Texas A&M that semester and I can remember it so vividly that it's hard to believe that nearly 9 years have passed. Gig 'em
I was 10 years old when bonfire 1999 collapsed but watching an amazing video like this brings me to tears and makes me feel like I knew all of the 12 who died.
Thank you. I miss Tim and Jerry Don. I am glad that the symbol of undying spirit in Aggieland is remembered by others. It's a tragedy that the symbol is dying. Bonfire. WE WILL REMEMBER.
The guy at 2:36 was my mom's boyfriends friend :(

Lets not be a Hypocrite here.
How many times have you wept over a news report of someone dying in a car crash or being killed tragically in the war?
See what I mean. You could care less about those people. You care about your fellow Argie Cult members ONLY.

Something else made me remember this tragedy today, and I read the Wikipedia entry and watched your video. A lovely tribute - best wishes to you.
