Welcome back to the official names of the the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). These titles have not been used since 1968 when the then Liberal government merged the Canadian Army, RCAF and RCN into one unified organization called the Canadian Forces striping the branches of their pre-1968 traditions and indites. The Cdn Army was called "Land Force Command", RCN called "Maritime Command" and the RCAF called "Air Command" from 1968 to Aug 16th 2011
@canadianmatt3 quite unfortunate. We are proud of our military not because of ornamental ties to a foreign queen across the ocean but because they are CANADIAN.
Long live the True North, Strong and FREE from any royalty.
@canadianmatt3 I just wonder how French Canadian military personnel will take it... the renaming is done just when we are facing a conscription crisis in Quebec.
i wish the best for our country, and if thats whats the best for her, then I'm behind it. But I don't think it is.
@hecdc To be honest I think that the Crown is an integral part of Canada's history, and personally, I see nothing wrong with us still being associated with The British Royalty. I'm glad the old names are back as well, as each branch, like Matt, pointed out has it's own traditions and it's own Identity.
@CanadaSavesTheDay You are right my friend, but I think the country has become rather too large to still consider its most important state organs as "Royal" ones. Her Majesty has very little to do with us, we respect and revere her only because of history, but aside from history there is pretty much nothing else going for us to still be related to the british royalty..
If I could please remind people to click the "Like" button if you do like the video, I have a lot of anti military and very liberal YouTube profiles who like to click dislike and such.
I was sworn in today as a vehicle tech.. Without Canada I would not have been born. I love this country and what it has done for my family. I will repay that debt. Thank you Canada.
I like Canada's anthem better than ours, we need to change ours, "star spangled banner" is so cheesy, I mean the lyrics are good, but the music that goes with it sucks :-/
Probably, one of the only video show casing the Canadian Military, without arguments in the comment section saying "Oh, I'm American and I can kill all of you with a wrench, with an apple pie on top."
