  • Its funny how the more that the democrats and liberals kept trying to push the health care reform bill through opposition is mounting.

  • wow. another sellout of public welfare to corporate interest.

honestly people, how much more are you willing to take?!

  • They still voted against it with the Pubic Option.

  • Universal Care Now! American Fraternity Forever!

  • democrats arent the same as when john f. keneddy was alive. there a new group of blood suckers

  • My My...our Dear Leader finds himself between a rock and a hard place.

  • Bingo!!

Everyone needs to say THEY WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY BILL UNLESS IT HAS A PUBLIC OPTION.

  • The Republicans won't say that they are all against Medicare even if it is "socialized medicine" actually a single payer system in essence or that they want to get rid of Social Security. Or privatize it like Bush tried to do because now more than ever people need those two things the most. Second of all with abortion they won't come out and say that they are trying to have the "stupid" government control women. They pick and choose when they want the gov. to intervene and it sickens me.

  • Weiner for president in 2012

  • I know Weiner is awesome. I'd totally vote for him.

  • The congressman is right if your only half hearted about it you may as well do a hatched job on the whole thing because otherwise it wont work and the insurance corporatist are just going to say i told you so which is a veiled lie.

come on Obama do the right thing and go all the way unless hes afraid for his young family with all those idiot rednecks shouting out their.

  • NO PUBLIC OPTION, NO VOTE!!

Life Liberty & Pursuit of Happiness?

    Without health care, no LIFE.

    Without health care, no LIBERTY.

    Without health care, no HAPPINESS.

REAL PATRIOTS SUPPORT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE!

  • France has the best healthcare system in the world! We are so behind, it isn't even funny. Why don't we look at outside examples that work and try to take best ideas we can, instead of trying to keep the insurance profits high and medical costs skyrocketing!

  • Audit THE FED

  • More members of Congress & Senators need to say they will NOT VOTE FOR A BILL UNLESS IT HAS THE PUBLIC OPTION.

  • Weiner is the fucking man! future president right there

    Weiner / dean 2016

  • Weiner will NEVER be POTUS for he is Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin will PWN Weiner after PWNING Obambi in 2012. After Palin leaves office in 2021, ONLY CONSERVATIVE WHITE WOMEN will become POTUS and VP! Liberals and DEMS will be EXTINCT and ALL of America will be CONSERVATIVE! Men, liberals and minorities need not apply for President or VP! ONLY GOP WHITE WOMEN! The only parties will be the GOP and the Libertarians.

  • More & More democrats & some Republicans need to STAND UP NOW and say they will vote against any bill that doesn't have a PUBLIC OPTION!

  • No Public Option No VOTE for ANY Democrat

  • Weiner is Sarah Palin's DICKLESS, WEINERLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin is a SUPERIOR politician and statesman than this phony balony charlatan jew! She is also MORE MAN than he is for Weinerless wears the skirt while his girlfriend wears the pants and has the Weiner in the couple!

  • OK OK we get! You jerk off over Palin every night!

  • hahahaha

  • Anthony Weiner kicks ass and takes names.

  • good to hear, hope u go thru with it

  • Weakened by the Town Halls, ObamaCare was no match for the GOP's big gun: Sarah Palin.

Forced to debate death panels, Obama had no choice but to order a full retreat.

This is his Waterloo and Palin is his Wellington.

  • The Republicans do what they always do- use fear to stop debate. Read Ecology of Fear by Mike Davis. He shows how the Republican party has used fear for decades to stop progress.

  • how is govt run health care progress? everything they run now is so in debt and cant be paid for!

  • and the democrats, look for the goverment to give them all kinds of stuff, they ask the goverment for free stuff, free this free that, democrats are to lazy to get a job and look and bow down to there master goverment for shit..... stop looking for the goverment to give u shit...... do it on ur own...

  • I truly hope this public option fails. Human beings are cruel fucks and don't deserve health care.

  • Good for you, Congressman. I would encourage anyone who lives in a Dem. district to contact their Congressman and let them know that a Public Option is a must. Screw this namby-pamby 'bi-partisan' co-op garbage that Obama is now considering.

  • I guess you don't count the wars as spending!

  • Living in a corporate-monopolized shithole might be working out for you now, but it won't for long if we keep going down this path.

I'm sorry you're too dense to understand why progressives do what we do, but in the end if we don't, there will be no middle class left-and 99% of the former middle class-will end up on the poor side.

We will become a 3rd world country. In some ways, we already are.

The rest of the world is passing us up and you don't realize it.

    Thanks for the stupidity.

  • Good. Let the progressives destroy Obamacare.

  • your comment is ironic because there is no "Obamacare" and the guy in this vid is complaining about that. There will be no destroying if this guy has his way, just creating.

  • he IS the next big thing, you all just watch. as long as he keeps his namesake in his pants.

  • I am a long time democrat...I still think Carter did a good job on many subjects. I will say this...if there is no public option, I will NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA AGAIN!

  • it all goes to show you that the politicians are in the pocket of the health insurers. if there is no public option nothing is going to change and we are all just going to be raped for health insurance like always. and if you have that pre-existing condition your even more screwed. thxs congress. time tell congress we are tired of paying for thier healthcare. if they don't want us to have it fuck them let em pay for thier own....

  • We need a constitutional congress in order to get anything to happen. Congress and Obama obviously don't have the cojones to pull this off.

  • Good for him! If there isn't a public option the entire thing is B.S. and there will be no fundamental change.

  • I'm glad to see the progressive wing is in a fighting mood.

  • search

world government control code project red pill

  • fuck yea

  • put bush back in! He was doing so much better.

  • WEINER KICKIN AZZ AGAIN

  • i totally want a strong public option and believe that max baucus and senate dems need to fricken grow a pair.

but fuck, i wouldn't send the whole thing down in flames over the public option.

  • You can't even call it "reform" without a public option. Also note that in public opinion polls, the majority of people, and the *overwhelming* majority of doctors want the entire system nationalized, not merely a public option. It seems the democrats are way to the right of the public, and only the progressives are standing up for us.

  • yeah, but wtf bra! where are the loud and the angry progressives that don't want our opportunity for real reform taken from us?

where are the cancer survivors dump by keiser yelling at blue dogs? what's up with move-on? acorn, etc? why are we yelling in town halls? why aren't we yelling at blue dogs and conservatives on cable? why are we bending the debate our way?

we need to wake the f#ck up or we'll lose to the liars, the corrupt, the greedy and the self-interested powerful.

  • max baucus and the senate dems owned by the insurance industry. the senate already has their bread buttered and eaten.

  • coupcoupTV: "the senate already has their bread buttered and eaten."

yeah? well we need to give our senators a dose of anorexia, stick our fingers down their throats and get our bread and butter back yo.

these are the finance committee dems running in 2010: kent conrad-nd-gang of 6, blanche lincon-ar, ron wyden-or, charles schumer-ny, maria cantwell-wa, bill nelson-fl, thomas carper-de

baucus-mt & bingamen-nm, the other 2 dems in the gang of 6 r not running in 2010-but they have phones!

  • Thank you Anthony Weiner! We want Public Option!

  • I fuckin agree with everyone of you wacko pipeheads. Yes, please run Weiner for pres. Run Weiners all over he country from coast to coast. Please!! If you have to drag the bastards outta every bar ditch in the country, DO IT!!! I'll help!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

This battle is over & you lost. You've been smoked!

  • About time we hear someone saying this. Go man go. The crazies are not a majority.

  • If they can't pass a public option I don't want them to pass anything at all. No point. Use reconciliation to ram it down their throats!!!!!

  • weinner for president! the man has soo much balls

  • You like balls, don't you?

  • so do you apparently

  • Well I should.

    I've got big balls.

  • What a gay thing to bring up.

  • I've got the biggest pair you ever seen, dingleberry.

  • I'm really starting to pay attention to Weiner. Unfortunate name or no, he really talks good sense and he doesn't back down. I like him a lot.

  • I was living in NY when he was running for mayor... he's a tough guy, I like him too.

  • He looks like a really young guy and as you say he's tough. He's got plenty of time to try again!

  • agreed! no public option, no peace. if the dems turn into republicans, the progressive should go green.

  • Why aren't the people making these rational comments ever shown on tv? Why is it only the paranoid idiots that get screen time???

  • Its entertaining = more viewering for it

  • ...because most americans have been conditioned to Jerry Springer like entertainment and these medias have and still is spoon feeding the public!

  • They will cave.

  • The Bill passed by the House of Representatives. has the Public Option in it....This Bill in the Senate has no Public Option...Now they'll have to hash out both Bills and come up with something Obama will sign....The Dem. Senators should grow a set of Balls!...I'm sure Weiner would show them how!

  • Without a public option, one would be hard pressed to say any reform will have taken place. The private insurance companies are killing Americans every single day. I, myself, have been denied prescribed medication, then dropped from two companies within months of them finally allowing my medicine. Their reason: they called the medicine too expensive. Apparently it cut into their multi-BILLION profits, profits my exorbitant premiums gave them.

  • right on!

  • I just hope America realizes that when we kick out these blue dogs, and half ass cowards-the solution is NOT to put neo cons back into office.

The answer is to replace them with REAL liberals, REAL progressives like Weiner.

Fuck these timid, center-right posers who put D's next to their names just to win elections.

  • Weiner is awesome!!!

  • Who bloody cares what the Retardicans think about this? Most Americans want a public option. If the Retardicans block this, there'll be hell to pay for them in 2010. Stupid insurance industry holding the American people hostage!

  • Weiner obviously wants to KEEP his seat.

    And he deserves to.

  • Yeah, fuck this bill if it has no public option.

Just give us single payer, tell the Bush-voting retards to fucking DEAL with it, and then let them show the rest of the country how stupid & insane they really are.

Anthony Weiner gets my vote for president whenever he decides to run.

  • If there is no public option, Obama may aswell open up that big window behind his desk and throw the bill out now.

He hasn't been able to dispel misleading details about the bill, which is a pretty big failure in itself.

Does he think that if the Republicans had 60 seats and 59% of the house, they'd be giving the Dems as big a voice and the Dems are giving the GOP atm?

  • nothing wrong with a bit of incrementalism. you can't turn a ship as big as the whole of the USA on a dime.

and with the Insurance Industry spending 1.4 million dollars EVERY DAY to misinform and foment hatred and confusion, I have great sympathy and respect for Obama trying to diplomatically push the righteous course.

But I don't deny some disappointment... yet I remain hopeful. the arc of history bending slowly toward justice, and all that.

    peace. ;-)

  • I love weiner!

  • that makes one hell of a funny quote, out of context.

    ;-)

Go your own way, weiner-lover! cheers.

  • If the dems cannot get a Public Option with all the dems in Congress: we are hopeless, completely hopeless.

  • Yeah, it might take a little longer for a total financial collapse.

  • @ eurohim

Well, when you see that 60% of US bankruptcies are because of healthcare bills there is a problem.

I'm not happy about it (the need for a public option) but we do. Ever see the movie Sick-o, darling? If not, then you cannot understand because you are both young and healthy.

Maybe 30+ years from now when you are in failing health you will appreciate what people are trying to do for you, today.

  • Actually, if it is anything like the UK's NICE system, they probably won't help me. The same sort of rationing is in the current bill. Pg 425 Lines 4-12 they'll see if I'm worth keeping alive. It makes sense since you have to ration it Pg 29 lines 4-16. I heard a number somewhere that if it cost more than 22k to treat you when you're a senior, you don't get treated. I'll take a free market system if they'll let us have it again.

  • Actually no; I've read the bill myself, and the stipulation you cited refers not to what the public option will mandate, but what it will financially cover.

If you don't like the specific points laid out in that subsection, you can simply retain your private insurance or move over to medicare (which is socialized in the best of ways already anyways), as if the Public Option is simply worse, the private insurance companies will obviously thrive.

    For fuck sakes guy.

  • I guess you have the choice to keep telling yourself these lies. If it makes you feel good then go ahead, but your know that it's bs what you just said. I've been checking the bill, i'm not gonna keep wasting my time looking for stuff that's not there, you're a liar bro !

  • The death panels are coming for your old and your retarded.

    Run, eurohim, run!

  • Death panels?

  • @ eurohim

I am blessedly unfamiliar w/UK's system. I am thankful that my family has no chronic health problems. For me, I feel that healthcare in the US, the way it is set-up today, says that 47 million Americans are ALREADY NOT WORTH KEEPING ALIVE.

The free market system let's these people die right now-- as I am keyboarding this to you!

  • if they were dying now under the free market they would still die under a single payer universal plan. the government can't cover every disease and every treatment. no system is perfect, you are either in need of money which you may or may not have or you are in need of time which you may or may not have. you simply trade one sequence of inequality for another.

  • Legion? What the hell are you smoking?

  • must be that Toronto cheeba

  • BULLSHIT.

rampant greed tips the scales against social justice.

Without healthcare, no LIFE, no LIBERTY, no HAPPINESS!

REAL PATRIOTS SUPPORT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE!

UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley has $744,232,068 in stock options. 2007 pay $13.2 mil; 2008 $3.2 mil.

CIGNA CEO Edward Hanway made $120million in last 5 years. Stock options = $28,881,000.

    Humana CEO Michael McCallister's 2007 salary was $10.3 mil. 2008, $1,017,308. Stocks total $60,865,194.

    BLOOD MONEY!

  • I am very clearly no patriot to your country nor my own. social justice is a pipe dream. it is a mantra to gather support to supplant the existing power structure with another one. power corrupts, and government with power over your health has more control over you. you know I have to notify the government if I intend to leave for any extended vacation or period of time in order to maintain my health care, and if I don't come back in time the government can deny me health care

  • OH NO! You have to inform the government. TYRANNY I SAY! Yeah, that's as bad as millionaire who want to make more money, even if it means your grandma dies.

  • so that means those that don't notify - the government can withhold any and all health care services. Leave for a mexican vacation and decide to stay for a year or two and you can get in trouble.

  • Political progress toward SOCIAL JUSTICE does occur, ie abolition of slavery, worker's rights, civil rights, women's rights, the Bill of Rights, health rights, environmental protections, etc Progress happens when there is a groundswell of dissent over status quo, & a leader to channel that potential, to educate, inspire, & catalyze the change. Today, that leader is clearly Obama.

To say that "social justice is a pipe dream" is not only to ignore history, it is cowardly self-fulfilling.

    peace

  • ok let me add a qualifier, modern notions of social justice are a pipe dream, and in some cases a nightmare. extending hate crimes protection to pedophiles is disgusting, I see that as social injustice.

Power to Obama to keep what he is doing up, but reality is a cold mistress, and delivering on everything can't be done without hurting some.

  • true enough Canada isn't so cold as to deny most people, but its just another element of control. This is babylon system we live in, you can love your masters and question nothing or you can be independant and and question everything.

    I made my choice.

  • "you can love your masters and question nothing or you can be independant and and question everything."

a bit too black and white, don't you think? false dichotomy. there is a spectrum in btwn, as well as other axes of analysis. The us and them persecution thing has SOME validity in SOME contexts. It's hardly one size fits all. The hard part about evaluating every circumstance anew is it required vigilance, confidence (and yet also humility), & a willingness to be the change you seek.

    peace.

  • it may be too black and white, or it may be spot on. I agree completely with regards to "required vigilance, confidence (and yet also humility), & a willingness to be the change you seek"

I simply see the political structure and terminally corrupt and devoid of integrity. As such I can't really back anyone, or if I do its with a qualifier

  • Excuse me, LeGioNoFZioN, but aren't you Canadian and this argument moot for you, anyway? But maybe you're lonely and need to tt someone.

See the movie, Sick-o? This is the broken U.S. system. It's not my job to educate you.

  • true, although our medical sector is seeking to legalize private parrallel service so that Canadians can get a better standard of care. hope they win that battle.

your broken system is like my broken system, and people fighting left and right are arguing over points as opposed to good quality accessible health care. If only you could educate your own people.

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

So you see the answer is obvious, do you not???

We shall combine both of the systems, yours and mine! People can go to the Public Clinic for stitches, or pay a bit more for instant, personal service. This would be utopia!!

How shall we get there? Baby steps on perilous ground, I would say.

But first we must pry the steel talons from the wand our insurance industry has held for 3 decades.

  • I'm not fan of your health insurance industry, in my mind that was a bad step, but too many want either just the public option, or no public option. the system needs an overhaul and that is not going to happen either way

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

I think it is only human nature to want the better end of a deal. Canada doesn't like the public system; US doesn't like the private system....

But here's where it all went wrong: corporations have the same rights as human beings. This is why corporate power is rampant (humans die and their power ends - corp can last hundreds of years amassing giant wealth and power)

Since President Nixon endorsed health care for profit in the 1970's the people have steadily lost out.

  • I appreciate your reasoned demeanor. and I agree that we are looking for ways to make ours better and based on the different starting points we are currently at, the solution is quite different for both our countries. I have no problem with profits in the health science industry as long as it is practisioners and not insurance companies making those profits. Doctors do deserve serious money, the only way to ethically pay them less is to cover their education.

  • And I have enjoyed my end, tremendously LeGioNoFZioN.

But truly, if people really cared about their health, then we must ask ourselves why so many of us are fat, smoke, drink and eat processed food with dangerous chemicals added.

Maybe it's time for new behaviors for each and every one of us; not just the policy makers.

  • again I agree with you, we are all responsible for the way we live and the life we lead. If we are serious about health we take care of our own by staying active and eating properly.

I'm amazed by friends who won't eat at McDonalds but turn around, smoke a pack a day and drink excessively regularly. eliminating fast food is a good step but it takes much more to maintain your health

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

As far as healthcare in my youth: It was considered "unethical" for doctors, lawyers and prescription drugs to be advertised. Today: it is TAX DEDUCTIBLE and these things have grown in cost like a malignant tumor.

This is why the corporation must have some type of leash, like a dog. We are getting bitten in the ass by them.

Young women are shocked to learn that my b.c. pills cost me $1.35 per month then, while they pay $60 per month. ( Of course, b.c. pills are not covered.)

  • good points, I think your tax system is corrupt as well, maybe even moreso than ours up here. another issue is education, the cost of becoming a doctor is insane and the post secondary schools have been doing piss poor jobs of educating us while their pay far outstrips the pay of K-8 teachers who do a better job more often than not.

In Canada I advocate for the government overhaul of pose secondary education .....

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

The U.S. has always been corrupted by money. After the Civil War (South didn't want to pay the debt racked up by the North) the nation really went to the corporation. The Slavery thing was added by Lincoln almost as an afterthought.

I did a video on Thom Hartmann's book, (Unequal Protection) as the story is so outrageous, but the book is hardly anywhere to be found and the public schools no longer teach Civics Class.

  • ... because if doctors ability to earn money is diminished by government ability to pay etc, then at the very least the cost of learning must also be lowered to address our doctor shortage. Alas the Unions put up a good fight, despite the high number of assistant professors teaching classes student pay to learn from actual professors. If people could get beyond left and right paradigms then some good could be accomplished. north Americans don't seem too keen on such an idea

  • again @ LeGioNoFZioN

It is my understanding the AMA limits the numbers of doctors. If it were allowed to have many, many doctors graduate - instead of just a few - the costs of education and such would be lowered, I feel.

  • that may be in your system but ours isn't regulated in terms of the number of Dr.'s. We have no limits in and ours hasn't changed at all. On top of that the vast majority of all of our post secondary schools are public, not private

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

So it would appear part of the U.S. problem is scarcity of doctors graduating, the extremely outrageous awards making Malpractice Insurance-- a large cost that is passed along to the patient.

-Combine this with the giant TV, Radio & Newspaper advertising for prescription drugs, which is bundled into their costs, adding even more expense to the patient.

I doubt any Healthcare Bill will deal with these issues, but I am speaking out about them to the editor of the local paper.

  • good stuff, keep it up, thats waht you need people discussing the real impact and the real effect of the health care bill. its only with pressure that your media can hold the government to doing a good job.

  • Thanks, LeGioNoFZioN

The papers didn't print my last letter I submitted about Walter Cronkite (said that real newsworthy reporting was as dead as he) and I figured they wouldn't-- so I put it on my Facebook page last month.

The sad news is, the media have been purchased and do the bidding of their owners. There is no such thing as "objective news" anywhere in the U.S. What my letter was about. This is why Americans are seen as being so stupid; people are watching our news programs!

  • I have to agree with you there whole heartedly. I find it funny that so many bitch about foxnews when in reality its bigger than just fox, all of your networks are in somebodies pocket. at least some of you recognize this

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

Really what happened, is the corporation pays off the Congress, who screws-over the people. It's been going on so long now, there is hardly anything left to steal. That's why we are doing generation-theft now. How can people not yet born, defend themselves? I say to my grown kids, "please do not have children; they will be enslaved by these bastards and this is no way to live."

When I came along in the 1950's the US was strong, but now it is an empty shell, crumbling....

  • I agree, and I am fortunate, because as much as some of these same things go on up here in Canada, my parents came from a third world west indian country. If things get real bad, or even if freedoms are curtailed to the point I don't want to live here, I have the option of easily leaving. its sad but I find visiting the caribbean that they have more freedom than we do up here.

  • @ LeGioNoFZioN

I have friends who have left for Costa Rica. How I envy them, but my husband refuses to think about learning a new language and country at this time in his life and it seems too late. But, if I was 20 years younger I would push harder to go.

It all came to an end when they murdered JFK in broad daylight in front of millions of people in 1963, with the final nails in our coffin under Bush. Obama is the grave digger.

At least the Romans gave their people pot; we arrest them.

  • costa Rica is nice, but I'm with you on the new language thing. I could, but I enjoy speaking english. I can't imagine what it must be like for a person who has lived through the crushing defeat of Kennedy's assasination, and through to all of this crap. left or right our politicans are constantly screwing with us. its almost like there is no good answer.

  • @ LegioNoFZioN

Nope. You got that right, no good answer. What I do is write, do activities to feel I am taking positive action. Otherwise I would go crazy; smoking a joint helps dull my angst when I can find it.

Living next to Fermi Lab helps. Particle physics, the thought matter is simply energy, slowed. Takes my mind away imagining subatomic particles.

Then I make metaphysical arguments and get flogged by people who say I'm nuts... Something to do!

  • we all do what we have to in order to cope, and not go crazy. and of all the things you can use to help, herb is one of the standouts.

we do what we must, cheers!

  • beautiful.

  • no vote? what the hell...... i would love for them tio do this for free, money just corrupts!

  • Nice :D all I have to say, about time you see someone speaking out and saying they want the public option. Let's just hope the blue dogs doesn't oppose to the point that it's going to take too long to get through

  • Damn right!!!!

No public options means NO CHANGE!

Insurance companies and the health industry need incentive to drive down premiums and cost...the only way to do that is with REAL competition.

Democrats have control of everything. PUSH THIS THROUGH!!! It's what we voted you in for.

  • If there was 1 republicansenator Obama and the dems would let him write half the bill to be BIPARTISAN! Hey I voted for Obama but he needs to get a spine. His poll numbers are droping because he looks, is. weak.

  • He IS weak-and this proves it.

  • This is why we need Sarah Palin as President for she will be the STRONGEST and GREATEST POTUS of ALL TIMES! She will put all male POTUS before her to SHAME for they are ALL her DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCHES and PUSSIES from Washington to today!

  • Sarah Palin for president. Ohh man now THAT will be funny! All I can say is that actually I hope she does become President. Cruel America will be getting EXACTLY what's coming to them with Palin as President.

  • And here I thought you only trolled TYT videos.

  • Obama doesn't have the balls to push this through. He's too busy kowtowing to the Republicans.

  • I really wish I could disagree but I can't. He is like a teenage girl who is fixated on the one dude that doesn't like her and is losing her dignity chasing him. This is sad.
