  • if we diagnose the case as brain death it means brain stem death .. as the brain stem contain all vital centers .. so if there is brain death this mean no breathing no circulation , so we put the patient on the ventilator just to keep breathing and also the will beat as a result of vagal stimulation .. and this process kept for days or weeks .. and we do so just for if the centers are depressed they work again ..or for organ transplantation ..

  • Once you are taken off the ventilator, does your heart stop instantly?

  • @Goldenrod636 Nope, Death rattle occurs and I think LAZARUS SIGN.

  • I want to know specifically... a brain dead human or brain death... does the heart and the body naturally keep alive for days before they are artificially supported or do they have to get replaced by artificial support immediately or less then one day?

and when they replace a heart do they have to use artificiall machine for the circulation .. althought this one is more obvious

  • and for how many days can they keep this cadaver alive artificially?

do you mean that the brain is the thing that keeps the human alive?

sincerely can you answer these if your a doctor or someone who doesnt just "know"

  • @TheRogueMonk also when one is brain dead.. i am not talking about coma or any of the between.. i mean brain dead as in this video .. can you feed the body by intravenous under the aid of the machine? or wont the digestive system or the cell activity exist for nurishment under brain death.. (total brain death) as in this svideo

  • @TheRogueMonk also does this really mean that if brain funcitons are totally lost the body funciton sof organs are completely lost?

as i am pointing out i am speaking about brain death... can we conclude that humans organs are controlled by the brain? where as under brain death they are not?

or is just some organs normally under the passive and active control of the brain?

  • @TheRogueMonk "and for how many days can they keep this cadaver alive artificially?"-The video of the "animation brain death" goes into more detail saying that a person can last from 2 days to several weeks.

"do you mean that the brain is the thing that keeps the human alive?"-Yes, the back part of the brain controls everything, even the breathing and stuff. Without a functioning brain then the whole oragns shut down.

  • Is there anyway to stop or reverse brain death?
