i love this song. i remember first listening to it, my mom was singing to it,i was thinking to my self there is so much beauty one person can bring to our life if anyone knows what messages shes trying to send to everyone through her singing.when the song was over i remember hugging her and saying i loved her. she truly is an angel to me.P.S. I don't understand the darkness out of darkness imagery you are trying to indicate but nevertheless, who am I to say you are wrong. In my opinion, all it takes for the evils and wrongs (which are easier to just allow) to succeed, is for good people to stand by and do nothing. As I was reading your comment I listened to Percy Sledge (a man) who happens NOT to be white. He wrote one of the most beautiful song. His color or nationality never bothered or attracted me one second, only his SONGS. I know PERSONALLY NOTHING about Ms McLachlan, except the business appearances she allow the audience to see and hear and in that I see a classy and intelligent lady even if in one her song she used the F*** word (now changed).
