  • Its funny, Tyson said Ali was the best p4p mainly because at heavyweight he was 70 pounds heavier and was maybe even still faster. Just made me wonder..

  • the best ever.

  • The great LaMotta said it himself--Sugar Ray Robinson the greatest p4p.

  • But remember SRR didn't fight because he loved boxing. He said himself that it was strictly business, and that he didn't like it. So don't start rewriting history as if Floyd is the first fighter to be all about the money.

  • never realised he went up to light heavyweight... no fighter will ever be as good as sugar ray robinson. ever. he would destroy floyd mayweather, and manny pacquaio. i have no doubt in my mind whatsoever.

  • @inbr33d as of today I agree sugar was and still is the best.pacroid and mayfraud don't even come close.

  • @BoxingProtege he is the only reason i hope there is a heaven. so i can get the opportunity to meet him.

  • God, Imagine a fight between Sugar Ray And Muhammad Ali, jesus christ, two best fighters that will ever live.

  • Is it true that Robinson never got Kncoked out and was only dropped once in over 100 fights?>

  • If God ever said make a fighter a perfect fighter the closest he could ever come to is Sugar Ray Robinson.

  • hands down still the greatest of all time

  • This man had it all. A good chin, power, speed, great footwork, and can take any blow. He is truly the greatest, not mayweather.

  • the desire to win, the hard work, the natural ability, the dedication are fundamentals of all great champions but this man to this day is in a league of his own. an icon

  • They are all sugar daddy.

  • Can any one tell me why they call them selfs Sugar? robison. leonard, mosley

  • @Boxerjunaid Sugar was just his nickname. All the other Sugars are paying tribute to Robinson.

  • @Boxerjunaid because they are sweet fighters, sweet like sugar but ray robinson is the original

  • @Boxerjunaid leonard called himself it to be like his ideal robinson. Robinson was given the name sugar from his manager n the name ray robinson wasn't his it was his friends name that he borrowed to start fighting coz he wasn't the legal age. shane just copied i think lol

  • ray robinson is my 5th favorite fighter ever

  • I hate to say it but the 8 people who dislike must be rascist or something I dunno but I can't seem to come up with any other reason

  • Greatest p4p ever. Had everything a fighter could want. Mayweather may have the best boxing "skills" but courage, heart, and power have been lacking or untested.

  • Look at robinsons record only 2 losses in like his first 100 fights and then most of the losses came when he was in his last years, consider 18 rounds and he fought till he was 44 or sumfink and without the science now , it was even harder back then. Ray robinson was the greatest boxer that lived fact, mayweather is a chump compared to him.Pacquiao will dismantle floyd.

  • Why hasn’t Hollywood ever made a biopic about Sugar Ray Robinson? He was a interesting person that led a fascinating life, not to mention he was the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time, I don’t get it.

  • @laparka1138 They need to. Does anyone know where I can find a good biography or autobiography about Sugar Ray Robinson? Also, is there a way to view all of his fights?

  • @laparka1138

i agree, they make a movie about fucking micky ward? and not sugar ray robinson?

  • man i wish someone had the story of how joe lewis the karate fighter got him to be his boxing choach thats a story i would to hear

  • The true king!

  • @TheFourTint Troll harder pactard.

  • OVERRATED!!!

  • @TheFourTint If you think Ray Robinson was overrated you must think Rocky Balboa was the greatest heavyweight that ever lived.

  • @TheFourTint your a dumbass

  • When you ask most people who the greatest fighter of all time is they say Muhammed Ali. Well I seen an interveiw once where Burt Sugar ask Muhammed Ali who was the best of all time and Ali even said we he says hes the greatest he means greatest heavy weight. He even said Sugar Ray Robinson was the best ever. And I've also see a interveiw where they ask Roger Mayweather an ex fighter and champ himself, Floyd uncle and trainer and guess who he said is the best of all time. Ray Robinson hands down.

  • I used to box and am not the biggist robinson fan but he was p4p one of the best ever. And the man that will fight on sept 17 2011 better hope he wins with ortiz . And what zab did to him in 4 rounds pernell sweet pee would of did for 15 rounds to him. His name should not be on the same fucking sentence as robinson . Robinson was an assain in the ring.

  • Sugar ray robinson had over 200 PRO fights, and something like over 300 Amateur bouts, that people is a true fighter..fights anyone any where anytime and any amount of times! Mayweather is little over 40 PRO bouts n maybe 200Amateur bouts MAX!!! No comparison im afraid!

  • Mayweather beat Robinson... that's plain ridiculous! Sugar Ray Robinson is the best boxer that ever lived according to pretty much everyone who knows boxing.

Mayweather is a crybaby idiot and the most annoying boxer that ever lived.

  • At 2:58 IS THAT TURPINS FUCKING EYEBALL???

  • @banofee999

    Mouth piece

  • Robinson is easily the best ever. Style, Hollywood good- looks, one punch power, speed, footwork, granite chin, endurance, could fight going backwards or forwards. Legend.

  • To say mayweather would be Sugar Ray is just wrong. Mayweather won't even fight Pacquiao right now proving his inability to prove himself a truly great fighter. I am sure he would pull the same garbage against Sugar, avoiding him at all costs so he doesn't lose his self made reputation. Fighters now avoid good opponents and have maybe 50 fights when the retire, this man had hundreds... he kept fighting.

  • @Disburden don't kid yourself into thinking Pacquiao would have stood any chance against Ray Robinson either. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao are great boxers. It's particularly sad for Mayweather, who is easily one of the most skilled fighters of all time. If he would just man up and fight Pacquiao win or lose.

  • @Disburden I don't think Mayweather is afraid of Pacquiao now. After that embarrassingly close performance Pacman had against Marquez.

  • @zk92000 Manny lost to Marquez, it wasn't close.

  • @bolder2009 that's right

  • Believe it or not boxing hasn't evolved all that much over time. Its all about the heart and physica ability of one man verses another. All the other shit is just for show.

  • @linxkiller1

    THANK FUCKING YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry its just stupid these ignorant young fans of today

  • @linxkiller1 so why does someone who just starts boxing get their ass whooped by someone who been boxing for 4 years, they both have heart and good physical ability. it has nothing to do with skill?

  • @jesse23021 If you actually read the post I said it comes down to heart and physical ability. Skill would be included in the physical ability part. When I was 8 my dad took me to a boxing gym to learn to box. The head trainer put me in the ring with a kid that was 10 who had been training for 2 years. Of course he beat me up and bloody my nose but I never stop fighting. And after that he agreed to train me because he said I had the heart to fight he could teach me the rest . True story.

  • @linxkiller1 yeah but you obviously did not get anywhere.

  • @linxkiller1 absolute rubbish its changed loads

  • @TheUKConman Well explain to me how its changed. Beside the fucking performance enhancers some guys are taking. That's why boxing is such bad shape now. Because all these so called fighters think its some new technology to fighting. Boxing has been around hundreds of thousands of years. And it still comes down two one guy verses another.

  • @linxkiller1 I know regardless of what your reply is you have never boxed nor know very much about boxing. Boxing has changed loads and loads that is why loads of fighters will say you should never compare fighters from different eras. The stance was quite a bit different the gloves were usually smaller. The whole technique is different look at mayweather for example his defence is a new breed of technical excellence.

  • @TheUKConman actually I have boxed and was an amateur golden gloves champion so unless you can say the same I'm wasting my time talking to you.

  • @linxkiller1 I box professionally. The point im making is that boxing has changed loads just loo, at the old fighters like jack johnson its completely different

  • @TheUKConman of course its changed. If you read my post I didn't say it hasn't changed at all I said its changed very little. If you compare boxing to any of the other orgamized professional major sports boxing has changed the least. Its just the nature of the sport. And I don't care to care this conversation any futher because the original debate was about Suger Ray Robinson.

  • @linxkiller1 And the money

  • @linxkiller1 true that mma is evolving and it would leave boxing behind unless they pull something out of their ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJaquio79 SRR was a MUCH bigger man than Mayweather and a HUGLEY bigger man than pacman! But I still say P4P SRR is better regardless of the era!

  • Comment removed

  • Suger rays better than almost any modern day boxer! Wish a was there to watch him do work!

  • Prime SRR vs Prime RJJ is my all time dream matchup.

  • I would love to see robinson teach pacquiao n floyd a boxing lesson lol pac would get KOED in round 9 n floyd would surive coz of his defence

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 floyd wouldn be out before 6. if old mosley can get throu mays defence and then gass out..... then ray would do it not gas out and finish floyd

  • YOU SEEE FLOYD HAHAHAA THE BEST OF ALL TIME (SUGAR RAY ROBINSON) A REAL FIGHTER , A REAL MEN NOT A PUSSY MOTHERFUCKER AS YOU ARE, HAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 Boxing is dead.

  • i would love to have seen him fight mayweather!

  • @DEUCEDIMETV Mayweather would duck him.

Instead, he'd want to fight my little sister.

  • @123gwf lmao

  • @123gwf did you hear? Mayweather is fighting Pacquiao. They signed the papers. Bobby Pacquiao starts camp soon

  • @TheJaquio79 come on dude, there is no way sugar would beat either of them. look at the video, fighters back then lacked defense, put their arms down, swung slow, wide, and wild. he'd be too slow for pac, and to open for mayweather. i even think guys like cotto, margarito, martinez, mosley, they'd all beat him, he was the greatest of his time, but fighters are too sophisticated, or evolved if thats the right word for robinson

  • @roush26 In my opinion he would have beaten them both. Boxing has not developed as much you may think. If you think that todays fighters are fitter. Then lets see. Fighters then fought twice a month, instead of 2 a year. 15 round bouts, instead of 10 rounds. The use 6oz gloves instead of todays 10oz gloves. Referees not stepping in like they do today & lso the extreme rasicim WHICH meant you had to knock your opponent "OUT" to get a decision as you sure were "NOT" going to win on "Points".

  • Robinson vs Ali who wins??

  • @TheJaquio79 - Just read and take in what this gentleman has left in his comments. All of these comments are true. Remember he fought more world champions then anyone in boxing history. He is also only one of the 6 men in Boxing History to have over 100 knockouts.

He could out punch the puunchers or out box the boxers. Every one thinks that Tommy hearns Right hand was something else. Remember Sugar had the same power but in both hands!

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJaquio79 my point exactly, he would've knocked out overrated pacquiao with ease

  • the ref is so bias its too funny

  • "you were in terrible trouble if robinson was on one knee looking at you " what a fucking compliment

  • I WOULD PAY TO SEE THIS IN COLOR

  • @angelo171 just be glad we have video...think jim thorpe no videos

  • Mayweather isnt even the best boxer of his generation never being better than Robinson.

  • I think he took PEDs and steroids.

  • @ikawpipa why would sugar ray take PED does he look like a gorila like pacman took take PED?

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - maybe only Xylocaine.

  • @ikawpipa floyd uses Xylocaine but pacroid uses steriod what why he turned down 40 mil just to not take a blood test and that why he went crying behind his laywers loooool

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - can I take your blood sample?

  • @ikawpipa NO

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - now you know how Pacman feels, thanks... ciao !

  • @ikawpipa yea i feel like a big coward for turing down 40 mil just no to take a blood test :( nowone will like me now only filipinos but nowbody else im gonna start cyring to freddie roach and fill a lawsuit on floyd mayweather becouse i need the money i don't get paid enough for beating up old guys and i'm gonna fight fight timothy bradley after bradley losses to amir khan LMAO loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 -- don't forget to sign your name on the Letter of Apology to Manny.

  • @ikawpipar tell manny to stop hiding behind bob arum and to fight young hungry fighter's lol did you like the two marquez fight's lol it must be sad seeing ur gay idol pacroid get his ass whooped and getting exposed lol pacroid is an overated bum pacroid might iswell fight roy jones coz pacroid like beating up old guys lol roy jones is 42 years old that wuld be a good fight pacroid lol u obiously have no life just like floyd mayweather accusing athete's of taking PED loooooool LOSER.... PEACE

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 -- do you know somebody who was born the same time as Manny and also a Champion in boxing ?!? How stupid can you be ?!? How can they fight at the same age ?!? ... you need to talk to Dr. Phil.

  • @ikawpipa. Whhat the fuck are you talking about??? U retarded filipino lol u need to go to the mental hospital

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - Manny beating old Margarito at 32 yrs old. What do you call Floyd at 34 yrs old? How about Martinez at 39 yrs old? ..... I suggest you watch Olympics if you want to watch young fighters... or better yet watch the Special Olympics so you can understand each other since everybody is a retard.... Don't forget to talk to Dr. Phil.

  • @ikawpipa. Manny pacquiao is beating up old guys like shane oldsley snd bums like david diaz, clottey and margarito so shut the fuck up and go to ur mental hospital u fool :) lol

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - u forgot to take ur pills again..., Dr. Phil will get angry and you'll end up like Amy Winehouse... you took off your strate jacket again... we need to replace the foams in your roam so you wont hurt yourself .. OK? ... I'll try to register you on Special Olympics as part of your rehab.

  • @ikawpipa. Manny pacquiao is fighting bums like david diaz, clottey and margarito and old mosley lol so stop changing the subject in to some next dr phil shit lol loser:)

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - Do you know why Manny is fighting bums ?!? .. Because there's no more Challengers !! AHAHahahaHAH!!! .. even Klitscho will look like a bum infront of Manny !!! AHAHahaha.... Manny should fight 2 at the same time to have challenge... AHAahah..

  • @ikawpipa Well manny is realy fighting bums. He through these years he proved that welterweights are too easy for him. Why he's not fighting Sergio Martinez who thinks that he could whoop pacquiao easy? and prove everybody wrong once again instead of letting everybody think that manny became another gayweather who won the title ant started cherry picking his opponents?

  • @KravaLLT - If Sergio will go down to 147 lbs, i think Manny can fight him tomorrow afternoon. If you can give me one good reason why Manny should go up to 160 lbs just to please you and Sergio, I'll tell Dr. Phil to stop your medication. In the meantime take your tranquilizer so you will not imagine things. OK? ... don't forget to drink your milk.

  • @ikawpipa xDD what a retard grow up you skinny ratfaced philipino kid...

  • @KravaLLT -- Dr. Phil should increase your dosage of medicine. You should take pills every hour so your imagination will not go as wild. Maybe a handcuff is a good idea during afternoon.

  • @ikawpipa I said nothing offencive in my 1st message and you started bitching about whatever... The only thing I said is that Pacquiao is done with welterweight division and he should move up or retire b'coz he's already tarnishing his legacy by picking fighter over the hill to fight

  • @KravaLLT - Over the hill? Margarito was 32 when he fought Manny. How can you possibly arrange a fight where everybody is at their "peak" ? The boxers were not born at the same time. Floyd is 34 and turning 35 next year, what do you call him ? .. You are idealistic, there's no way they can all fight at their peak. -- Then you are mentioning Sergio Martinez, do you really know how small is Manny? .. even Floyd will never imagine fighting Sergio.. Manny has fought the biggest possible fight.

  • @ikawpipa Margarito was a bum and his age had nothing to do with it - everyone knew that he's gonna get outboxed like that and pacquiao shouldnt even fight that bum being a p4p just as Mosley just as Marquez III. There are a lot of good fighters in their prime who deserve a shot and Pacquiao is standing here kinda looking like an idiot, fighting old guys who are ready to retire and acting like he fought the best...

  • @ikawpipa.

    Timothy bradley

    Victor ortiz

    Amir khan

    Sergio martinez lol

Pacquiao is affraid of them lol............coward

He also had a chance to fight underfeated berto but he decided to fight a bum like clottey lol whos a future hall of famer..LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL :)

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - Wait,, are you talking about Manny or Bobby Pacquiao ? ... Berto? ahaha... Bobby Pacquiao can whoop your boxer's list.... Dr. Phil should check you everyday to avoid another crazy guy on public places... You should have a nurse 24 hours to give you immediate medicine in case your imagination goes wild again... You should avoid watching boxing matches as it tends to damage your brain when they get hit. .. this is just friendly advice.

  • @ikawpipa im talking about filipino boxers they overrated look at donaire hhahaha all he does is fights bums most of his opponents dont even have a wikipedia haha lol and bobby pacquiao whos got about 20 losses lol and manny pacroid who fights bums lol ducks the best LMAO go to the mental hospital that where all u filipinos belong lol

    1.black americians

    2.mexicians

    3.puerto ricos

    100000000. overrated filipinos

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL:)):):):):

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - Blace americans use steroids, xylocaine, and PEDS.. they are drug addicts with criminal records and cannot cook that's why they just punch each other... Mexicans are all crazy except Oscar Larios ... Puerto ricos are exposed Ivan, Juan ma, .. filipinos dominates boxing and MMa and Kung Fu... if you mess with them they will make you look like Roger Mayweather.

  • @ikawpipa and filipinos are bunch of retards who beg for money on the streets LMAO and whats happening to ur country? they are gatting invaded by china lol :)

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 - don't worry 100 years from now, everyone will look alike... what makes you think you will not die ?!? ahhHAAHHHAHahha....!!! ... you will look like your neighbor and the rest of your countrymen, bones and skulls.... aHAHAAHhhaha..hAAA... Invaded by China ?!? Who cares ?!? they can get as much minerals as they want ... someday they will also die and leave everything behind ... AHHHAaaHHAAA.. !!! .. so you think you are smart ?!?

  • R.I.P champ :)

  • All you faggot ass pussies who don't know anything about boxing need to shut the fuck up. Ray Robinson is one of the greatest fighters who has ever laced on the gloves. He fought and beat more hall of famers than any other fighter in history. Enough said. 175 wins 19 losses and 6 draws with 108 kos. Don't be mad Ray has more kos than times you jack off in a month.

  • yes these video showned that fighter back then aren't equal to today's fighters. wins don't mean shit if fighters ain't good.

  • @tainle fighters back then were better you stupid idiot u know nothing about boxing get a life y u comin on sugar ray robinsons videos n saying stupid thing u damm fagggooottt

  • @FilipinosAreGay he doesn't looks good as today's fighters. it just not skillsful as i expected. so overrated i am sure most people would say so

  • @FilipinosAreGay i don't see it sorry, it just your opinions. you can blah all you want.

  • suger ray is not overrated!

  • Overrated as fuck. This video looks pathetic - overblown baloon

  • @KravaLLT. How is he overrated?

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 They say that he could beat any man in history of boxing. Thats not true... He has 200 fights and about 150 of those were against some bums... He never knew how to shoulder roll, how to technicaly slip and avoid punches and I'm not even mentioning that stone age counter punching...

  • @KravaLLT i belive he can beat anyone in history

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 Boxing has evolved A LOT since then, I dont think that he could take care of a great defencive fighter like mayweather (I'm not mayweather fan)

  • @KravaLLT i agree. SRR was a legend & it's often blasphemy to pick against him. but mayweather would be too good, IMO. SRR fought white dudes and most of his opponents had records like 30-30 20-30 18-19, etc. Just a different era. Mayweather IMO, has the most complete skills in the history of boxing, including ALI, Sugar Ray leonard.

  • @lighterbuds James Toney has better skillset than Mayweather. To have a musclutature of a middleweight and punk these heavyweight champions like he does, no one has ever done that + Toney is ranked as the greatest super middleweight ever

  • @KravaLLT Toney does have a great skllset, BUT IT'S NOT BETTER THAN MAYWEATHER! Be real dude, now you're being dumb. I understand you don't like mayweather the person, but you can't deny his elite skills. You guys are such haters and it blinds your judgement.

  • @lighterbuds I think it's you who are making blind judgements based on what you said... Go watch Toney fight against Tim Littles, Iran Barkley, Michael Nunn.. Those guys were superior fighters in fact Michael Nunn was p4p of that time... Mayweather couldnt even hold his own against a real pressure fighter like he did against Castillo who won the fight against mayweather 116-111.... Everyone can look good against bums and act like he fought the best...

  • @KravaLLT nobody in their right mind will rate james toney ighter than mayweather.i mean, be real with yourself dude. i know you're just a hater, so i dont' dislike you, but i disrespect your opinion.mayweather has superior countering, defense (ya i know toney shoulers rolls too), jabs, hooks and pot shots and feet work. toney lost to RJJ in his prime, enough said.i've studies literally 1000s of hours of film as a pro.mayweather>toney. dont' be stupid. toney has skills & he's a hero of mine.

  • @lighterbuds You can say whatever you want but boxing experts call toney greatest super middleweight ever and they call mayweather another failed statistic just like Rocky Marciano... = perfect record loaded with names of bums. Toney had better shoulder roll, WAY better counter punching, WWAAYY better chin, enormous courage and is not called a fucking coward on TV and in public...

  • @KravaLLT i've seen toney beat on a lot in the face. he doesn't have floyd's defense. sorry. get off toney's nuts, he wasn't that great. he lost a lot and lost to RJJ in his prime. enough said.

  • @KravaLLT bums? ezzard charles archie moore jersey joe walcott joe louis. watch the jersey joe walcott fight tell me that guy was a bum, toney fought bums better chin? ur crazy rock had a great chin its like saying pacs better than valuev hes better tecnique fitness movement ext but they fight at different weights. heavyweights are better than any other weight simple.

  • @MrLukedanger marciano fought all of them before their retirement and I think you are the only person that count this

  • @KravaLLT marciano was 30 ezzard was 32 thank you come again.

  • @MrLukedanger So what... after several fights Charles retired because he already reached his downfall even before marciano fight...

  • @MrLukedanger sorry mate but no heavyweights are not better than any other weight. for example on ring magazines 80 greatest fighters muhammad ali HEAVYWEIGHT is 3rd henry armstrong FEATHERWEIGHT LIGHTWEIGHT AND WELTERWEIGHT is second. and robinson who was at his best at WELTERWEIGHT and fought alot of his most famous fights at MIDDLEWEIGHT even whent to light heavy. YOU OBVIOUSLEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BOXING IF YOU SAY HEAVYWEIGHTS ARE BETTER SIMPLE AS CUS THERE NOT.

  • @banofee999 heavy weights would wipe the floor.. thats why there is weight divisions.. why are klitschko brothers so dominant because there bigger.. lighter weights are better P4P but someone like foreman would murder him in the ring.... i know more boxing than you. another arm chair fan thats never seen a live match or laced up gloves fuck off.

  • @MrLukedanger Actually i have laced up gloves before i do it all the time and i have seen live fights. also you say you know more about boxing than me, clearley not if you say that heavyweights are better. of course the klitschos would beat someone like paquiao because of the size difference, but if they were the same size (if pacquiaos natural weight was heavyweight for example) then he would rape the klitschos. thats what i mean if they were the same size. u probs have boxed you pussy

  • @MrLukedanger Actually i have laced up gloves before i do it all the time and i have seen live fights. also you say you know more about boxing than me, clearley not if you say that heavyweights are better. of course the klitschos would beat someone like paquiao because of the size difference, but if they were the same size (if pacquiaos natural weight was heavyweight for example) then he would rape the klitschos. thats what i mean if they were the same size. u probs have boxed never you pussy

  • @banofee999 you just agreed with what i was saying.im pro babe so suck my dick u hazza

  • @MrLukedanger actually it was a typing error i put another comment up with what i meant to say. and no i didnt agree with what you said i said pac would beat the klitscho's you fool. also you must not be that good a pro fighter if your saying the klitschos are better than sugar ray robinson and you spend your spare time trolling on youtube. :L

  • @banofee999 why do you think the sport has weight divisiions.. klitschos are 6'5 and 6'8 250 pound beasts. sugar ray was 140 to 168. sugar ray wouldnt be able to reach them. there not better p4p or tecniqualy there bigger stronger and thats why they barely loose. you think 5'6 paq would beat someone with 100 pounds and about 1-1'2 feet on him. your in a dream world. big beats good everytime.

  • @MrLukedanger well no because if they fought they would be the same size u fool. also.... no big dosent beat good how do you think pacquiao beat antonio margarito. BECAUSE HE WAS BETTER. your in a dream world m8 need to wake up lol

  • @KravaLLT it's just so funny how the only thing you haters can bring up is the controversia fight with castillo. for the record, every great fighter loses. it's just shows how great mayweather is, when you put him down cause of ONE POSSIBLE LOSS. haha. it's just funny, do you guys even listen to yourselves?

  • @lighterbuds everyone brings that loss just because he's building himself as "undefeated" thinking that the undefeated thing makes him the best... He's not great, he's not undefeated and "money" is not the reason why real boxing fans watch boxing. He's a disgrace and he's bad for the sport

  • @lighterbuds mayweather sucks, and you need to stop watching boxing because you know nothing about mayflower sucks

  • @3232rams i should stop watching boxing?I think you should look in the mirror.I grew up in boxing gyms, be careful who you're talking to. I still box. You should study the sweat science more. Just because you don't like mayweather, doesn't mean you can deny his skills. I understand if he's a jerk. But you know what? Half the people hated ALI, and half the people LOVED him.Same with Tyson.he is truely a great.Watch all his fights (which I know you haven't) and I dare you to say he isn't good.

  • @lighterbud I boxed for 11 years sparred with terry norris, pete ranzani, randy shields, and many other good fighters. todays fighters suck 32 divisions 5 champions per division in the 1970,s and 80,s mayflower would have been every top ten fighters bitch, just like his daddy was. same with manny he would have been a sparring partner for gomez, sanchez, arugello, duran, pryor, leonard, benitiz, hearns, palomino. no disreaspect to you but mayflower is not that good.

  • @3232rams you don't know what you're talking about, sorry.get out of the past. that's blinding you. i bet you've never watched all of mayweather's fights several times then. in fact, i guarantee your one of those fans that only watched him against DLH and that's your only view of him. mayweather was 148 on fight night against DLH, DLH was 163 on fight night. i agree there is many weight classes and such, but you can't diminish what floyd has done. he's been champ for over a decade & never lost.

  • @lighterbuds

IF he is so skilled then why does he avoid the top pound for pound fighter right now? He should be proving himself the same way SRR did and all the fighters did back then. He's a joke, he will never have a 100 fights never mind a few hundredlike SRR.

  • @Disburden he's not avoiding anyone. pac is avoiding drug tests cause he's scared or dirty. plain and simple. 100 fights is the old days dude, wake up. NOBODY does that anymore. Fighters nowadays only fight 40-60. Fact. Tyson, SRL, FMJ, all of them. SRR is overrated IMO. We can agree to disagree, but if Mayweather fought someone with a 25-32 record he'd be attacked by everyone. That's what SRR fought mostly. Different era, accept it.

  • But wait -- I thought that Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he is twice the fighter that Sugar Ray Robinson was?

  • @123gwf He said that ... but no one who knows even a little about boxing believes that. The greatest determining factor for assessing a fighter's place in history is not his record, but his opponent list, and how he faired against those opponents. Robinson fought, and defeated, Henry Armstrong, Randy Turpin, Kid Gavilan, Jake Lamotta, Bobo Olson, Fritz Zivic, Rocky Graziano, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, and others. Had he not collapse in the heat, he'd have beaten Joey Maxim too. Fuck Floyd!

  • FULLMER WAS KNOCKED DOWN BEFORE ROBINSON,YEAHH BY ARGENTINIAN FERNANDO LAUSSE,THAT'S THE TRUTH

  • sugar ray robinson is the greatest even my grandafather said that hes also a witness of srr greatness

  • Cont:3

So they can fight for more Catchweight tiles instead of "Cleaning up their respective Weights" & become undisputes champion of that weight. So now in todays age we have 4 world champions claiming to be the true champion at one weight class. We have fighters today that only fight 2 times a year. Fighers like Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather would not have been allowed to fight in certain places in the Usa in the 1940's. Look what happened to Joe Louis & Sugar Robinson in that time.

  • @redjam40 its gettin worse look at sergio martinez hes the wbc silver champ now to me hes the undisputed champ and that silver belt means nuthink

  • @lee1990lee - Well at least you see what I was trying to explain all along. Do not be fooled by this mega hype on Manny or Floyd. They are good, and good for this present decade, however as both of them being rated as the greatest of all time. No way. Both of them fight in a time that sees none wanting to become Undisputed champion.

  • Cont:2 If anything today modern day boxers are not as talented as yesteryear boxers because the talent pool is not there or as prevalent as 1940's, 1950's 1960's & 1970's.

Everything in boxing today is easier then 1940's upwards. We see todays boxers fight less rounds, we see Referees jump in much earlier if they see a boxer in trouble. We see boxers of today use heavier gloves so as to protect their hands, we see Boxers of today not wanting to become Undisputed champions of their weights.

  • Everybody think that Mayweather is the best Defensive fighter of all time. He maybe for the is era, but not for all time. What about Wilfredo Benitiz, Sweat Pea, Zora Folley, Herol Graham and the greatest of them all Willie Pep.

Just because the whole world has the ability to see Floyd Mayweather via World TV Networks doesn't mean that he was the best defensive fighter for all time. Willie Pep went a round withot even getting hit & then winning that same round without him throwing himself!

  • robinson was always favoured since he 'carried' the sport afterall. and since times have changed since then, his record counts for every fight hes been in. which is equivalent to fighting sparring sessions nowadays. i know for a fact that robinson was chosen to be 'the greatest' cause he worked more than anyone did. every sport needs a symbol. robinson wanted to be that man. with the sport so evolved and scientific nowadays i'd give Robinson a fair chance at any all time great. but not g.o.a.t.

  • @shundymagundy you can only be measured against people in your own era. compared usain bolt to runners from the 50s. its not a fair comparison. greatness is different from being the best.

  • @wade2bosh yes. that is why the skill level today is far harder than it was back then. robinson was the first.. doest mean hes the greatest or the best. you must understand that some fighters were 'chosen' and accepted as the best. thats how the business was in that era. there are many fighters with undefeated records just cuz they were managed that way. its about money. but to say oh he beats everyone who ever lived is nonsense.

  • @shundymagundy, boxing is not, in any way, shape or form, better than it was in Robinson's day. If you think that Pacquiao has a skill set which can even remotely challenge Robinson's then there's no hope for you. There are great technicians in any era, today is no better nor worse in that respect. However, there are FEWER today as numbers in boxing are down. The fact that limited fighters such as Williams, Margarito and Froch have been so near the top in recent times shows this.

  • @iljn1988 haha boxing is not better than it was back in Robinson's day? Don't even try to spew garbage you just shat up out of ur ass there. thats the biggest joke ive heard the entire month!

boxing has EVOLVED so dramatically since robinson, u dummy...

any fighter nowadays has cloned the robinson work regimin to the point of common sense!

in any way shape or form...? gtfo here! LMAO

  • @shundymagundy, as I said, you think that Margarito, Froch & Williams are more technically skilled than Robinson, Gavilan & Moore? I see you ducked the question. Can always tell when someone knows nothing about boxing & has never put on the gloves when they start talking about "evolution." If you knew a jot, you'd know that boxing training is largely the same now as it was in Jeffries' day. Boxing has been around since 3 BC - you think 50 years is suddenly going to result in massive evolution?

  • @iljn1988 u have a funny sense of judgement then LOL. i ever said margarito froch & williams were more technical than ray.

    U did.

    ducked what question?

yes theyre exceptional fighters that come along every generation or 2.

but your argument means boxing has remained the same since the cave man days. lol!

more technological progress has been made more in the past few decades than in the past few centuries.

but i see you clearly missed the concept.

what argument are u getting at? how different?

  • @shundymagundy, you implied it with your stupid statement that the skill level of boxing today is harder and more sophisticated than it was in Robinson's day. Thanks for making my point & contradicting yourself - you say anyone can do what Robinson did through "common sense" now, but then admit that his rivals were more skillful than some of the top fighters now. As I said, when someone talks 'evolution and technology' in boxing, it's a clear sign they've never even pulled on a pair of gloves.

  • @iljn1988 how is that contradicting myself? the part where you added "his rivals were more skillful than some of the top fighters now" part yourself?

again, you just stuck that in after i made my point so.. no need to thank me.

when someone talks about ray robinson and claim that nothings changed since then, its a clear sign they've never even stepped inside a ring. haha!

im not here to praise ray as a god. unlike some nuthuggers who've never done any roadwork to understand

  • @shundymagundy, don't claim to have boxed, you clearly haven't. Otherwise you wouldn't have made the moronic statement that "technology" has impacted boxing. And yes, YOU stated that fighters today have a higher skill level. I asked you rhetorically (if you know what that means) if Margarito, Froch and Williams, as a result of this so-called "higher skill level" were better technically than Robinson and his rivals. You then said they weren't. THERE is the contradiction.
