I have the original Magical Mystery Tour LP on vinyl, and this is the version that was on that. Fake stereo. The British release has the one we are more accustomed to hearing these days.
Yeah, this is the mono version. I have the original single (true mono) and also the mono CD. The best part in the stereo mix is you can turn off the piano/drums channel, then turn up the midrange and dropping out the bass and treble on the other channel, so you can hear George's fantastic chunky guitar! The effects weren't included in the stereo mix because they went straight to tape in the mono mix... OH! I notice the recording does not continue with "Baby you're a rich maaaaannnn"
thanks for the post...i have this album too and unfortunately it is NOT take two but, what is called, an OUTFAKE, go figure...there is yet to be any other different takes of this gem recorded at Olympic Studios...remember the "true stereo" German MMTour LP? That used to be the only rarity of this gem...LOVE THE BASS LINE on the true stereo mix...
well this songs is from magical mystery tour ottakes. can be from artifacts the psychedelic years, but i've got this take from magical mystery tour outtake album.
@SuperBeherenow , well, the long ending (with McCartney singing Wooo!!) and this is a Mono Rpm Version, this is a 2nd Take from Olympic Sound studio, this song was recorded at the first takes as definitive version to the Beatles Single: All You Need Is Love/Baby You're a Rich Man.

This sounds exactly like the released version, just a slightly different mix. Still, I like it because it accentuates the sound effects a bit more.

What is the difference between this version and the released version? They both sound the same to me.
