On the combination ambulances of the 1970s, what model was the beacon that detached from the roof ?....was it this model, or was it a another model ?....again, only on the combination hearses I am speaking off
They used two, three or four bulb. Just depended on which one you liked best. They used them in the 60's also. They were mostly two bulb in the early years.
Remember "Police Squad" and "The Naked Gun" openings?

This had 1 power wire only, but there were plenty of places to connect ground to.
