  • Ya right! We're here so that must be true even if it makes absolutely no sense at all.

  • Two qick questions:

    1) is there any evidence that matter, on any level (chemically) can or will organize itself, all by itself, even when energized?

    2) has a single cell ever been shown to increase its complexity (add information) necessary in its DNA (genetic code), to take itself to a higher level?

  • this is annoying bullshit

  • Lol....nice video. Oh brother....

  • This is not very illuminating. This is only one possible theory. I wanted some speculation on what could have caused the origin of life.

  • @sulljoh1 This is a poetic version of the RNA world theory, which is the best explanation we have.

  • @TheSelfishAltruist Very true. It is a beautiful theory, but the history of science teaches us that we should be cautious. Until Chemists have reproduced something more plausible or data is available from another origin of life or early life (perhaps on a Jovian moon) we should make it very clear that this is a theory in the speculative sense. Very different from the sense of evolution or the big bang as a theories which are well established.

  • @sulljoh1 Yes very true... although I think it is getting close to being able to safely say life started via a self replicating nucleotide (details will never be known). We know nucleotides can be made from simple molecules, they arrange into chains in solution, and that the right sequence of RNA can catalyse self replication, and if within a lipid membrane could be our first cell. Also DNA and protein had to evolve seperately.

Scientists created life by inserting DNA into a cell. All evidence

  • @sulljoh1 We also know all animals on Earth replicate its DNA via almost identical machinery, and that they evolved over millions of years from simpler life forms, and that we all share a common ancestor.

The problem with the idea of the Jovian moon, is there is nothing to suggest that happened. We should always assume nothing, and try prove it, and not assume something and try to disprove it. If we did this we could believe in an infinate number of hypothesis, like life was made from martians

  • @TheSelfishAltruist Of course the null hypothesis is the rational starting point. As for the origin of life, do you think that we will ever get to the point where we are almost certain what happened? There is so much uncertainty at the moment, I do not want to give up on a really good theory. Something that is just obviously the right answer, like evolution is now. Say that we observe a certain type of comet influencing a hitherto unseen chemical reaction that self-replicates, just speculation.

  • "irreducible complexity" is nothing else than giving up the research for a deeper understanding beyond apparences, naming all that we don't undestand "god". Imagine how we would be if this belief that nothing more can be understood had been steadily implemented in the last 2500 years!

  • The argument goes: Irreducible complexity, therefore god must have done it: No: we don't understand it yet but we will work it out. Just another god of the gaps attempt.

  • Is this a joke or?

  • @moonlightbateman ‘Evolution of Biological Information’, Thomas Schneider, Journal of Nuclaic Acid Research, Oxford University, July 2000.

  • @gamesbok Evolution is the creation myth of atheism. The truth is no one knows nor can they know the origin of life. Your article does not come close to explaining this. Sorry.

  • @moonlightbateman I think that's what psychologists call 'projection', but is known to the rest of us as hypocrisy. Evolution isn't a myth.

  • Great I loved it!! Its useful to remember all the terms and steps for my biology course! :) THX

  • Nice video. One mistake (perhaps intentional for comforting/explanation purposes) is the use of the language of intent and volition (e.g. a molecule 'seeks out'), when the process is more usefully described as chance- based. Humans are still generally uncomfortable with the hugeness and randomness of the universe. = )

  • Do you really think that some form of basic chemical evolution could make the simplest form of life by chance. The simplest form of life as we know it or even life that could have been from an earlier evolution of life is so complex that is a mind boggling as is the vastness of our universe. Nothing in nature has ever been seen as creating life or the complex information that runs it.

  • @1984tenpoundhole maybe in your mind, and yes it is complex, but your brain should be able to handle it, knowledge will help you

  • Another ignorant video, Common-sense is difficult in this time of knowledge, it's ironic.

  • Stanley Miller would like this :))

  • guyes relax. did you search up this video to complain about your religous ideas? there's no point! just enjoy the vid, or click the little x button on the window! simple as that

  • life n love is god

  • Well of course there is no God :)

  • @ThaDeToX Atheist morons need to learn basic chemistry and Homochirality if they life could happen by chance and time, first life by chance would be its own Paradox..and could never happen..science has reached a dead end..only stubborn atheist think it can happen purely by time and chance, even evolution scientists know simple chemicals cant make life..proteins will only use the LEFT handed variety of amino acids, the RNA will only use Right acids

  • @5tonyvvvv actually, I am an agnostic theist, so chill out

    Your argument is invalid.

  • @ThaDeToX How..why cant science get around this problem, this is why Miller failed back in 53,and almost no progress has been made..do u know something i dont..science cant assemble a single protein or one single usable amino acid

  • @5tonyvvvv what... you're so wrong

  • @5tonyvvvv I think it is a lot to ask to expect any man to easily put together their own form of DNA or simply put a new formm of life. The process is clearly huge and takes billions of years, what man has this kind of time?

  • @Mekiwyn Bullshit Dna and molecular machines.repair mechanisms..would never have the chance to form,,u have way more blind faith than someone that believes in God..u would rather believe in some chemistry unknown to science than an intelligence..so fuckin stubborn

  • @5tonyvvvv lol why you calling me stubborn? I made 1 comment to you 1 time. The chemistry that makes it possible is not unknown, it has been done, chemistry is capable of this and has proven it so. It's ok that you don't understand it, I'll take the insults. Enjoy your life friend, I wish you luck.

  • @5tonyvvvv J 1961 Mechanism of synthesis of adenine from hydrogen

cyanide under possible primitive Earth conditions; Nature

    (London) 191 1193–1194

    Miller didn't fail.

  • @gamesbok Miller did fail. Nothing was generated!!!, his experiment lacked Homochirality!!. like most people you have been indoctrinated amino acids need perfect digital code!!, information!!!

  • @gamesbok and "This engineered RNA" would break down do to the unstable conditions of it..similar to rats leaving a sinking ship..This artificial RNA..has ZERO chance of further evolving into a living cell.

Activated subunits are used along with templates taken from living sources..its not a geochemical relevant reaction.Intelligence created life not time and chance!!!

  • @gamesbok Atheists are so stubborn, they think this RNA research could happen on a primordial earth..HAHAHA

Synthesizing machines trained chemists controlling every step of the experiment, along with activated bases, which were not made from scratch.and controlled TEMPERATURES!!!! would all be found on a primordial earth???

Yeah this is undirected natural processes..LOL

  • @5tonyvvvv RNA research? What temperatures could not have happened on primative Earth?

  • @gamesbok Its beyond temperatures dummy, its called INFORMATION!!!! read all of my comment! atheists point out nonsense! when the whole experiments are complete failures! RNA is not being made! rearranging and borrowing code is not creating anything!! Activated subunits are used along with templates taken from living sources!!!!!..its not a geochemical relevant reaction. none of this would be found in a primordial broth!!

  • @5tonyvvvv You're right. It more probably had something to do with talking-snakes.

Laplace wrote a book on the formation of the Solar System, and Napoleon ask why he hadn't mentioned God. 'Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.' ("I had no need of that hypothesis.") Napoleon, greatly amused, told this reply to Lagrange, who exclaimed, 'Ah! c'est une belle hypothèse; ça explique beaucoup de choses.' ("Ah, it is a fine hypothesis; it explains many things.")

  • @gamesbok And yes controlled Temperatures don't happen on a primordial earth!!..a protein could survive in a Toxic soup?? ok LOL..with Tempertures over 2,000 degrees!!!!, thats why miller got a Toxic mess that could never be assembled into anything!!!!!!!!

  • @5tonyvvvv In the atmospheric electrical discharge, a leader of a bolt of lightning can travel at speeds of 220,000 km/h (140,000 mph), and can reach temperatures approaching 30,000 °C (54,000 °F), hot enough to fuse silica sand into glass channels known as fulgurites which are normally hollow and can extend some distance into the ground.[2][3] There are some 16 million lightning storms in the world every year

    Wikipedia.

  • @5tonyvvvv Now I'm sure even you can see the logical absurdity there, if you think about it for a moment or two.

  • funny...fits the funding

  • I love you, Susan Fisher. I'm glad I am conscious with you at the same time. I'm glad we're all conscious together. In many ways we are the same. The same Earth. The Solar System. The same Galaxy. The same Universe. From inside these bits of matter I call Mathew, I would like to thank you for everything you have learned of yourself and for everything you are teaching me and the rest of this World. Thank you.

  • The mind teaches itself to believe that life and spirit is something separate of matter and electrical impulse. The self is programmed by stimulations of electrical impulse of its surroundings.

  • Your seriously going to humor the theists with the Lightning striking a mud puddle concept!?

  • I wonder who of the 300 milions gods in Hinduism that was responsibly for this?

  • LOL, an occasional phosphorus atom bridges the surface of the pool that will one day yield something wonderful some thing living... An amino-acid reaches for one of its own kind... Is that for real?

    1 Corinthians 3:19-20

"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; 20 - and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."

  • @8i680085 - God prefers dumb people because the wise understand that he doesn't exist.

"Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear." - Thomas Jefferson

  • @hrd2imagin

There are never ending winds of doctrines in this world. I'll die you will die in the end if GOD doesn't exist this conflict of ideology won't matter in the course of the universe but if HE does exist.GOD doesn't prefer the dumb but the simple for the simple he gives understanding. Psalm14:1 - The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”- There is a moment of clarity that you may never find a moment when you look at your yourself, at the world in general and reason the existence.

  • @8i680085 - I have no idea what you just said, but I'm sure you think it's pretty profound.

  • "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and MADE FROM WATER EVERY LIVING THING? Then will they not believe?" Holy Qur'an [21:30] This surah clearly states that water is the basic component of life. This shows that the holy Quran is in complete harmony with science.

  • @syazwankhan

I came to realize that I was wasting my time in trying to make people rationalize about things and for as long as I tried I failed. People see whatever they want to see, they were blinded from the truth, so now i spend my time in reaching people who are humble. Daniel 12:2 "Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt." Here in this verse is the prove why they don't want nothing with GOD, John 6:44.

  • @syazwankhan "This shows that the holy Quran is in complete harmony with science" So because you can find a verse wich can be vaguely interpreted as something that isn't completely incorrect, you think you get to assert from there that the ENTIRE BOOK is in COMPLETE harmony with science?

    Are you on LSD?

  • WoW! This way is much more beautiful than any god could ever create! Wonderful video!

  • Dr. Fisher implies that the amino acids and cells had a desire to combine. I thought that evolution holds that everything happened at random. Why, then, does she use such language?

  • @Gideon74123 The "desire" that amino have to combine is metaphorical, but your idea "that evolution holds that everything happened at random" is false. Molecules have chemical bonds which attract other molecules. Gravity, electromagnetism, the nuclear forces create patterns, not at random, but not deliberately the way humans would do things to achieve goals, either.

  • @luvdomus the question is, what causes the force. how did it come?

  • @syazwankhan We do not know how the forces of the universe originated; perhaps someday we will. Whether there are some things about the universe which are ungraspable we don't yet know. It would be a mistake, though, to settle for a religious myths instead of looking for a real answer. All we have learned from nature points to impersonal forces and abstract relationships underlying all. That should not disturb you; if it does deal with that psychological hang up.

  • Comment removed

  • @luvdomus its not a myth. God is real. His signs are everywhere. "Most surely in the creation of the skies and the earth...are signs for people who understand, those who remember Allah...and who ponder the creation..."

    (Quran 3:190-1)

  • @syazwankhan You can repeat that all you want. In the end, we all know that such verses are entirely meaningless.

  • Beautiful. Millers experiments demonstrate life's basic chemicals can for from more reduced chemicals.

  • You do not understand ! there is no statistis in this, even if stat is good You don't put all required information ! it is life - way that all know mathematics cannot describle ! Mathematic is ideal, i mean i don't know the equation - in with You put the same data and have different result each time !

And there is very nice question for scientologist - how do creator / universal mind / was born ?

  • INCREDIBLE! If you want intelligence and knowledge go to my account 2knowfun2

2knowfun2 videos provide things that are fun and great to know.

Easy English (Simple English) is used in all videos. Complicated things will become easy to understand for everyone.

Also watch my other videos on my account 2knowfun2

  • Genesis 1:24: "And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."

  • Ooooooohhhhhhhh kay.

Don't you people have your own buildings? Why you gotta come screw it up for everyone else?

  • I am not, all I am doing is replying my disagreement with this video. For I thought this is still a public space and comments are allowed.

You see, in other videos when people gets hurt, or they see a girls dancing one person will say that's stupid or this girl is hot and other people will say this accident happened in my family before and it is not stupid and this girls is under age and she doesn't have any breast yet.

See public spaces for public comments. Disagreements occur.

  • Some parts of the Bible are nonsense. Your quotation is one of those parts.

And it isn't good enough to call it symbolic. If it is, then it is decidedly NOT scientific (or, to put it differently, it should not be regarded as fact).

  • "Some parts of the Bible are nonsense." You are right about it. I think some of the advanced math analysis I have to get resolved is the same way, completely nonsense. But I learn that once a person study the problem or when a person puts time to learn new things on a specific subject, the amount of nonsense start decreasing and the amount of knowledge and sense start increase, so if you think that the bible is a bit difficult to understand it is because you need to study it.

  • Are you really resorting to the whole "you don't know what you're talking about" argument? I don't see how an objective person could type that with a straight face.

Learned theologians have reprimanded men of Albert Einstein's character on that point. And it was no more valid (nor true) then than it is now.

In other news, Thunderf00t and Dawkins seemed to get along quite well. You might want to listen/look in.

  • I wish I wish I wish I could invoke Poe's Law.

It's amusing, to put it mildly, that you believe that crap.

Have you EVER seen conclusive evidence of Jesus' resurrection?

No, you don't need to convince me you have. You know there's doubt in your mind. You've never seen anyone else coming back from the dead; your rational mind cannot explain it.

There's no shame in re-examining the evidence, human.

  • My conclusive evidence of Jesus' resurrection is not only the twelve disciples living their wives and homes and everything behind to become homeless people just to preach as witnesses all the pure and divine life and miracles of the LORD and to die to let everybody know that they saw with their own eyes that Jesus did resurrect and went to GOD the father. I never saw nobody resurrect but I don't doubt that many people who did and lost their life in terrible ways to profess just a lie.

  • The last thing in my mind is doubt. I am the one who don't believe that a rational being with total mental capacity to think cannot see the truth and you all believe this scientology fary tale of science that all life came from a single cell and mixture of gas fusions and ground amino-acids... I don't mean to make fun of it but it is ridiculous a person cannot see a order design behind the universe law.

  • Scientologists leave their wives and homes and everything behind to become delusional.

Protip: So do the twelve disciples in that book you love.

Scientologists are horrible human beings. They are, amazingly, worse than you guys.

Putting atheists in the same category as scientology is pretty solid evidence that you've never fact-checked your rhetoric. Go ahead, parrot, keep spewing words you don't understand.

The God Hypothesis being rational? Give me a break.

    Obvious troll, 0/10.

  • Thanks for making me feel better for making the scientology people look worse than christians, but it doesn't stop the fact that GOD does exist without any little possible doubt. A normal person that would study the new testament would easily understand this simple truth, all it needs is a little of patience and rational analisys its simple as that. Science doens not have the answer for life it's all theory with a bunch of silly made up facts to support this ideology.

  • I wish you'd read one book that criticises your fucking holy book. Guess what?

    You're wrong. On all counts.

  • @Arcaani

Actually there is one called "The God Delusion" by, Richard Dawkins; I came across some pages of his book, very influential person, I think you would like it. My beliefs in GOD is not about HIS holy book alone. Is a series of life situation that you cannot deny the existence of a higher power, and the bible is not a lie if you start reading and understanding it you get in the reality of what was going on in its history. As simple as just read it and study it, you will know the truth.

  • You came across some pages? You didn't read the whole thing?

How the hell are you even going to know the context in which these pages were written?

And I have read it and listened to it, thank-you-very-much.

I'll handily deny that which is claimed without evidence. Theists present no valid evidence. In other words, I'll will deny the existence of a higher power.

The Bible contradicts itself on many subjects, how could it not be wrong in some places? The claims are mutually exclusive.

  • @8i680085 I've read the Bible cover to cover and it is obviously just a jumble of ancient mythology and inspirational tales written by primitive, ignorant people. It was never meant to be taken literally-- the literalism was invented by Medieval theologians and perpetuated by modern charlatans. The Bible contains no scientific knowledge.

  • @8i680085 SO TRUE!!!

  • @Arcaani yes and science also has its mythology and bullshit as well, if not more. And nobody said that the bible is a science book. If you want to learn atoms, thermodynamics, gravity, read a science book. Simple as that.

  • @HEC01 Science has its mythology and bullshit? I'm sorry, but could you clarify that?

  • @Arcaani You people say: "Hey, the bible has fairy stories" Ok, fine, but for example, by pure chance life started on the prebiotic ocean. By a singularity explosive moment, our universe was created. Ape became into man. Panspermia. Just a couple of examples.

  • @HEC01

"by pure chance life started on the prebiotic ocean." Ever more advanced replicating molecules may have originated in montmorillonite clay on the ocean floor, but we are not certain. It's better than "magic man dun it!"

"By a singularity explosive moment..." YES. And there are resources you can use to learn more about it.

"Ape become into man." Well, modern apes and modern humans are descended from a common ancestor, if that's what you mean. The fossil record is rich with evidence.

  • @Arcaani The fossil record shows a distint origin about apes and men. Your transition in reality doesnt exist.

"Ever more advanced replicating molecules may have originated in montmorillonite clay on the ocean floor, but we are not certain. It's better than "magic man dun it!"

Show an experiment that ALL 20 amino acids for life have been formed by pure chance. Fact, none of them have. Even scientists arent convinced themselves that life didnt start that way.

  • @Arcaani Oh and just for the record, the fossil record is important on the ape to man matter, why? Because in the REAL world there is nothing that supports that.

  • @HEC01 "Panspermia" is one hypothesis which attempts to explain how life on Earth originated. Meteoroids, asteroids and planetoids carrying some form of replicating molecule collide with the Earth, and there's your early life.

It is an alternative explanation to abiogenesis, your first example of scientific mythology/bullshit.

If you think the scientists have got these all wrong, explain why they are wrong in a scientific paper, and you'd win a Nobel prize.

  • @Arcaani Yeah, and how can you prove panspermia by direct observation, testable and repetition? You cant. and it is know that on space that there are hostile condition s for life have started somewhere else and then to have come on the earth.

  • @HEC01 And how can you prove that something you drop to the ground even falls down? You can try dropping it again but the situation will have changed, even if only ever so slightly.

It is SUFFICIENT to be able to repeat an action under similar conditions.

Panspermia is a hypothesis unnecessary to explaining how life originated. The conditions on the early earth were not as harsh as you seem to think.

I can only draw the conculsion that you base your arguments on Scripture. Shame on you.

  • @HEC01 ' When NASA scientists examined the camera back on Earth they were surprised to find specimens of Streptococcus mitis that were still alive. Because of the precautions the astronauts had taken, NASA could be sure that the germs were inside the camera when it was retrieved, so they must have been there before the Surveyor 3 was launched. These bacteria had survived for 31 months in the vacuum of the moon's atmosphere.'

  • @HEC01

  • Very thought provoking and poetic. Keep them coming

  • Ohio.

  • Comment removed

  • "before there was time" = oxymoron

  • I don't know about you but I would rather believe something that has evidence to back it up and that doesn't sound like a fairy tale.

  • Interesting video. People simply have to realize that this is just one idea about the way things were/are, and not necessarily the complete and irrefutable truth.

  • yeh true.... noone knows for sure as we wernt there, but we can use our intellect to come to some plausable explanations. This I find plausable, and probably close to accurate.. perhaps give or take a few details.

  • I applaud you professor, I enjoyed the video very much.

These idiots below me don't know their foot from their a**. This was very nicely made, I'm looking forward to the rest of the class.

  • Thank you for this offering. It is poetic and artistic and still communicates the theory for laymen.

  • So mud and lightening made intelligent life? huh, ignorant....

God placed life here. How it evolved can be debated....but the initial start is by God and God alone...

  • it didnt place intelligent life here. It placed a very primitive reproducing chemicals here. (google replicating chemicals if you dont believe they exist) that started to evolve. How did brain evolve? well just Google that as well and you will see. its ignorant to say you know that god placed us here (how do you know?) and to deny all the other evidence that is what ignorance is. Just because you dont know how it happened. It doesnt mean it didnt.

  • You obviously don't understand evolution with that ignorant sentence you made.

There is no proof of a god. None at all. Zero.

  • I know it well enough. There is no proof otherwise either.

To believe someone or something started it all is 100% logical. To believe that everything came from nothing randomly is ultimate stupidity.

  • Obviously not since what you just said has nothing to do with evolution. It doesn't happen randomly from nothing.

Ohh someone or something! That isn't what you were saying. Of course something started it all. The big bang. But right now we don't know what caused the big bang. But that doesn't mean a god did it.

The only reason people think a god did it is because they can't comprehend all the beauty that they say "randomly" came into existence. Which is ignorance of how evolution works.

  • So if it is stupid to say everything came from nothing. Which isn't even true. Than what is it if you think a magical being made everything out of nothing in 6 days and rested on the 7th (I don't know why god would need to rest) just to kill them cause they were all sinful except for noah and his family (even babies and children were killed) even though he is supposedly all knowing and could of prevented it yet he lets everyone suffer?

  • your religion says that everything came from nothing, the big bang theory does not start with nothing

  • No, religion says it all came from God, not nothing..

  • lol, so god had a big bucket of playdo that everything is made out of?

god used his own ribs to make all of the animals?

you and I both know that your fantasy involves god created everything from nothing.

  • I feel bad for you and your closed world mind..... so you have oblivion to look forward to and matter and time just always existed? lol..right..

  • You must be getting ready for all of the witches you are going to burn in a couple of weeks, and soon Santa will be coming down your chimney to bring you presents!

    Grow up.

  • No but seriously, when you die there is nothing..... YOU should grow up..

  • Not sure where you stand here (me not being able to read the entire conversation) but assuming you are calling someone stupid for thinking that there is nothing after death, my rebuttal is this:

Where is the evidence that there is something? You seem to start with the notion that there is something and then try to find proof that it's there. That's not how reality works. You find evidence and then draw a conclusion. With a 'heaven', there is no evidence. Therefore no conclusion.

  • Can you prove that after you die your consciousness just ceases to exist?

  • I was going to say no, but then I thought about it somewhat and decided I may as well have a stab at it.

Consciousness requires a brain. Brain matter deteriorates and decays after death. Ergo: consciousness cannot continue after death.

  • "Ergo, consciousness cannot....."

What? Do you think you are the Architect from the Matrix movie or something...lmao...

Tell ya what, if that's what you believe, I feel sorry for you.....Send me a postcard from Oblivion when you get there...lmao!

  • No, I don't think I'm the Architect. What the hell are you even talking about?

And fine. Feel sorry for me. But thank you for conceding the argument. Clearly you cannot prove me wrong, otherwise you would have done so.

  • I didn't concede anything, kid. You lost.

  • Exactly how do you come to that conclusion? You did not provide any reply or rebuttal to my statement that actually had anything to do with what our argument was about. Until you can provide a meaningful and on topic reply one could argue that you have lost. But you most certainly cannot state that I have lost - anyone reading this argument will clearly see that is not the position I am in at this moment.

  • I am not up to judgment of anyone else here so I do not care who reads or argument. Prove to me that a person ceases to exist after brain death.

  • You asked me to prove lack of consciousness, not existence. I did that. And all you did is reply ad hominem, and completely ignore what I had said other than to pick at the way I said it. What kind of response is that? Now, either you have a meaningful reply or not to my original argument. If you do, I will happily hear it. If you do not, I suggest you do not reply, as you will only serve to look foolish.

  • Can you disprove existence after brain death? No.

There is life after death, what it IS I do not claim to know.

  • But just because I cannot disprove something does not mean it exists. If I told you there was an invisible teapot orbiting Jupiter you could not prove me wrong. Similarly with existence 'apres-mort'.

Logic is a wonderful thing, but it doesn't always beat common sense.

  • You people are like broken records. Again with the teapot or the FSM. Drop it.

Fine, again, if you want to believe that nothing happens when you die, be my guest.

    Talk about illogical.

  • The only one being illogical here is you.

Since when NOT being able to disprove something automatically makes it real? What the fuck man?

Then if people out there believe that unicorns exist, fairies exist, ghosts exist, etc, we must consider they are right even when they dont present evidence?

No rational person WANTS to believe in something. Rational people believe in what is true, AS FAR AS THEY KNOW. Stop trying to be immortal by taking refugee in a fantasy were u think u can't be disproven.

  • your theology tells you, thatr ita very likely you are going to burn in hell for eternety.. ever worked on a sunday?

My 'theology' tells me I have one life, it is precious.. so I must enjoy it and make the most of it

I feel sorry for you to be trapped in this psychological dictatorship, that someone watches everything you do and judges you

I am free, I make my own choices and I urge you to follow me to freedom

  • no..you're an idiot that doesn't understand Biblical law. you can work on Sunday. Don't put work before Church or prayer....that's all.

Try educating yourself before saying ridiculous shit. An dyou are FAR from free, you are a slave to the fact that you will be in oblivion after you die and all the good memories you had in life will be erased forever. So if anyone is in a "hell" it's you..

  • Well nobody understands biblical law cause it can be interprted in any way u see fit.

Id rather live my life based on my 5 senses than live in the vein hpoe that there is a sky magician whos watching over you, and will welcome you into his club if your a good boy...

    Its a cellestial dictatorship!

  • it's not "any way you see fit". Man, you really don't know anything, do you?

Well, enjoy your memories now I guess, cause according to you, after you die you get nothing and your life and memories are erased......might as well just kill yourself now and just get it all over with...I mean what's the difference if you aren't going to remember it anyway....

  • I know it may be hard to handle for some people, like you,... but yes, im sorry to announce that once your dead, its game over mate. You will only exist in other peoples mids, so make sure you make a impact if u want to 'exist' after you die.

If the time on earth is just some sort of strange test, why dont you kill yourself now? After all, the fun starts after u die right?

Why do u get upset if people die, when u bleive that their all going to heaven anyway?

  • I get upset because I miss them while I'm here. Suicide is not allowed, so I won't do that. And why bother to make an impact on anyone else if they aren't going to remember either?!

    You make absolutely zero sense.

  • look, the fact is this... it doesnt matter how much god makes you feel 'better' it does not support the idea tha he/she/it exists at all.

Even if every atheist in the world was a pedophile rapist, it doesnt say anything about the acutal cliam that god exists.

I think u use god as an emotional crutch, because you dont want to die. Nobody wants to die, but I accept one day my life will end so I need to make the most of life. Earth is our only home, so needs to be looked after.

  • so what happens of you kill yourself?

burn for eternal suffering in hell... wow kick a man while hes down god!

and he loves us apparetnly..??? hmmmm, very odd.

  • also, if god does exist (which i severely doubt) than hes must be an amzing sicientist to have made all this. If he made us, than he made us to be skeptical and enquire... if he punishes me for simply living my life based on the evidence as opposed to all the tales in the hundreds of holy books, than that is just not cool.

Even if I accpeted god existed (which will only happens if he knocked on my door) than which god do I worship? zeus, mars, jesus, moses, mohammed?

  • Ya know, instead of bullshit excuses, rhetorical questions and sarcastic and cynical nonsense, why don't you go find out!?

Go talk to a Catholic priest, a Jewish rabbi, a Muslim cleric, a Buddhist monk......ask THEM. They aren't going to give you poison kool-aid and start chanting.

Maybe drop the attitude and go talk to a person in real life instead of just pissing around YouTube.

Who knows, you might actually learn something if you open your mind a bit.

  • I have a had a lot of experience with religion thank you. I was a a christian until 15. I went to salvation army church, and played for the football team.

Most of my family are religious, my best friends consist of a muslim, a buddhist, christian and atheist (we are one fucked up crew)

My mind is very open, and thats why I am not religious. U cant have an open mind if you believe in one particular set of religious cliams and reject the rest based on personal preferacne...

  • you were religious until 15? Ah, 15 ..the age of complete understanding and maturity. You're an idiot. But that's your problem. And please note I wasn't plugging for any specific religion. I simply said go educate yourself because it is tragically obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.

And why so defensive? Are you just pissy because you believe you'll be nothing more than worm food when you die?

  • 'You're an idiot'

    How very christian of you.

Why are getting upset? Is it because I have asked some awkward questions about your faith and made you think about it a bit. at 15 I learnt how to think properly, and looked at the whole thing objectively.. there iss absolutely no possible way you can look at religious claims objectively and stay a religious person.

I can see how you can believe in 'something' out there,, and a lot of people do, but I personally dont.

  • learnt? Really? Might want to go back and "learnt" some more..lol

And that "how very Christian of you" remark...check out the video I did on just that very subject on my page called "Not Very Christian of You" ;) right up your alley,,,

  • getting abusive doesnt help you to 'win' a discussion.

You can justify your unchristianess to yourself as much as possible. I find it amusing that as a atheist I feel my morality is vastly superior to many christians.

An atheist would never fly a plane into a building, unless he was drunk

  • Neither would a Christian ;)

  • And I noticed you didnt answer any of my questions, because you and me both know, that no trheologan can...

they always cop out by saying things like 'free will' or 'fallen creation' - If your convinvced by that, than your welcome to it but dont come on here demanding answers from me. Im not the ones with the magical claims, you are... I do not need to answer to any christian, and I find it annoying we always have to defend ourselves to you guys... the ones who believe in virgin births?

  • I see God as the ultimate answer to all our questions, rather than as an anthropomorphic deity.

  • Than thats cool..

I just cant accept virgin births and all that stuff.

  • @markgg1 excuse me, Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) is not a God.

  • but what about this question were did it

(god goddes or gods) come from?

  • nonsensical question. You are entry level in this conversation apparently....

  • welll... there is no evidence for that.

Everyone agrees bacteria are not 'intelligent', but they does seem to know what its doing. its all done at a biochemical level.. feedback mechanisms etc. Our brains are just very very complex versions of this. It responds to senses in a chemical fashion, action potentials fire around our brain, and we call this 'conciousness'. Looking at basic life gives us an idea of how this works, such as a worms nerbous system which we can study well

  • This is the unsubstantiated drivel that makes faith based reallity view soooo fucking dumb

  • Nice introduction, hope the course contains substance.

  • What the hell was this? Leave the God crap out of this. Jeez.. this is what happens with biology lectures try to please everyone. Train wreck!

  • God did it,

    Oops. Wrong God, dam Zeus

  • This is completely dreadful.

It explains absolutely nothing. It doesn't say how replicating molecules formed, nor the cell wall - nor even cells themselves.

And I really really hate the references to God, Zeus, Yin-Yang, etc.

cdk007 does this so much better.

If this is the quality of lecture at OSU then I think I'd want my tuition fee back ;-)

  • cdk007's video should be standard in biology classes.

  • Nicely done, we are so proud of our 2,000 old civilization - lol Mother nature probbly took million and million of years for change to take place

One thing we will get killed by commit strike or may be our sun will blow up or may be we will get hit by andromeda galaxy or another species will take over our planet -

Then Jues coming back form heavens

  • To much magic and god crap for me.

  • Personally I liked it...hard data is sometimes difficult to digest and by adding that poetic touch it makes the material more memorable. Nice job...I would take the class...peace be with.

  • I liked it. Scientific yet shows a poetic appreciation for the myths that came after. Interesting. :)

  • What TOTAL crap! This hyper-dramatized bit of nothing is part of a UNIVERSITY BIOLOGY COURSE?!?!?!

What's the point? "We give you plenty entertainment value for your tuition dollar!" ??

  • Oh no more God did it.

Oxygen was not on earth until millions of years of bacteria created it.

  • omfg this is so twisted and incorrect.....

This actually verifies Bill Stein! Seriously?

life was formed by simple lipids with monomers that had the ability to compete. Everything evolves from there....

  • God's own thunder ? Zues' lightning bolt ? A competition of deities ? Please.
