  • Can't enjoy a beautiful, poignant cartoon illustrating the beauty and vastness of the universe without the Jesus-freaks crawling out of the woodwork.

  • The beging sound like Clasic music with some mexican style, after sounds a little bach, late sound like pink floyd, and then its repeat over again (y) great!

  • Jesus wasn't smart enough to be a quantum physicist, not even a family physician. He could of saved thousands of lives just by telling them to wash there hands. I mean walking on water is cool but... can you leave us a medical book rather than a barbaric Santa Clause tale. PS Horus wants his story back thieves, he was 1000 yrs before Jesus. GOOGLE IT. #Logic2012

  • The orderliness and beauty of nature? You are the people on the mountain top thanking god for that order and beauty while I'm behind you with a rattle snake and poisonous cactus. When the fangs enter your neck and the cactus penetrates your skin you won't be thinking beauty. I'm also gonna kick you off that mountain and hope you can fly, if not there is water at the bottom hope you can breathe underwater. Oh wait we puke, breathe, talk, eat through the same hole... stupid design.

  • Saw this as a kid in the 70's - today I wonder if it affected my philosophy back then or if I was already predisposed to this kind of "inner reaches of outer space" philosophising. Anyway, very glad to find it again...

  • Love love loved this as a kid. I used to show it at my birthday parties. I wasn't a very popular child.

  • @six66www why is this comment showing below the clip? The clip has no more to do with god than any other clip.

    now go away.

  • I remember seeing this when I was about 8 or 9. That cell that zooms in from 6:27-6:48 scared me. Doesn't it remind you of the Viacom V of Doom?

  • I know Powers of Ten!

  • This is a real blast from the past. I saw this back in the days where we watched 16mm film projected in our classrooms at school. There is another film (a little more scientific) with the same theme, called "Powers of Ten". Thanks for posting this.

  • It's a great idea! But for my taste it's a bit too long and for this slow development the single pictures don't catch me enough in their artistic expressiveness - but thanks anyway - still an inspiration

  • Can anyone work out the roman numerals? MCMLXVIII? I think that's 1968.

  • you are the void, we r the void

  • Blew my mind as a kid; blows it still today.

  • Blew my mind as a kid; blows my mind still today.

  • The first time I saw this, it had been included in an episode of a mid-1970s ABC kids' show called, "Curiosity Shop." Very memorable, even to this day.

  • That's one pretty big picture, yo.

  • I've been searching for this film for years based on a hazy childhood memory from the late '70s.

Thank you so much for posting it.

  • @TheGhostOfBarryEvans Me too! Same thing!

  • Shit! this video accelerates like crazy. I was holdin on to my seat to not fall of it.

  • @six66www Not sure this is a comment on the video...

  • wow,,,,,

  • I was beginning to think I had dreamt there was a film about a boy rowing and it turning into animation panning out into the universe then rushing back and into the mosquito on his hand and into the cell structure. I had looked for this for years but no-one I knew had heard of it. My son has just found it in 2 minutes, and looking at it I realised I was 4 when it was made. Watching it with him just now has been surreal took me right back to being that child. Finally I found it after 42 years!

  • @BreakRightIntoHeaven Yay! :D That's awesome. I know what it's like to search for something for so long then finally come across it again, so satisfying!

  • Wow, that's amazing.

  • It's no "Powers of Ten" but i like it.

  • Yderst godt eksempel på kosmisk zoom.

  • saw this when i was 10. loved it. haunted my imagination ever since.

  • @anton7580 - Exactly the same for me. Genius of its time - It needs remaking now though. Took me years to find this.

  • I saw this in 9th grade and it made such an impact on my life and now I have viewed it for only the second time - 34 years later!!! I am so thrilled to find it.

  • Utter genius. One of my all time favourite animations. It still kicks ass today.

  • Well done! Mind boggling stuff!

  • Great animation. Love this!

  • ok ... so those that mean we need to regret the bible and faith itself for our lives ? ... or vice versa ...

  • is this a joke??

  • amazing

  • kinda reminds me of Monty PYthon's Galaxy Song and the Simpsons couch gag.

  • is there another universe inthis black blood particle?

  • I was raised as a Catholic, Baptized and Confirmed. Soon after that I renounced my faith, why? Because there's no practical evidence of a God.

What you call design, I call evolution.

  • no offense but .. what about the bible and israel itself ...

  • That doesn't make any sense. There's no way of knowing whether there is a creator or not, and there is no evidence even supporting the theory of one, so why the hell would you believe in one? Do you believe that Unicorns exist? No! Because there is no evidence that they do. The body's basic function of consumption, digestion, and excretion is mirrored in every other organism on the planet, so there's no reason to believe that humans are unique and therefore created by a god.

  • Who the hell says we're designed? YOU? So we should all believe you? No thanks. When humanity believes there is a creator that no one really knows of definitely then different cultures for their different opinions and end up fighting and killing each other just because they are stupid enough to think that a creator is important enough to kill over.

  • Damn Canadian Centrists...

Ever notice how the great lakes spell out "TV"?

  • Хорошее видео.Микрокосмос,макрокосмос.Напоминает некоторые советские мультфильмы.

  • 3:49 I think I can still see the boy and his dog, lol!

  • Isn't it magnificently amazing that God, the Creator, cares for each one of us!?

  • @quiksilv3r

Yeah that would be awesome if a God actually existed.

  • The cells in our body is complex just as the universe is. A big bang theory says that it was made from nothing into something. If I were to take apart a hand-watch and its pieces, put it in a bag, shake it for billions of years. What is the chance of me forming a complete watch? Same thing with our complex body & how it functions. Big bang theory & Evolution theory is still........a theory. Schools teaches you one man's theory, Darwin's. You're putting all your trust into that one person?

  • @quiksilv3r

When people in the scientific community use the word theory, they mean a lot more than just a guess. A theory isn't a theory until it has been supported by the evidence and/or testing of many other scientists.

  • ...a theory is something that have not been fully confirmed and official proven, therefore, that's why it's still a theory...

  • the formation of a cellular organism is not the same as the formation of a metal watch moron

  • so dose that mean if i blow u up for a billion years and shake it around for billions and billions of more years that ill have a new organisim? yeah i thought not. think we,the universe is so complex that someone somthing had to create it. God made it

  • duh, everyone knows that. But where did the cell come from at the beginning?

  • you guys need to read up on your science... the cell wasn't the first biological entity... it all started in the "primordial soup" of molecules...

  • @quiksilv3r: It came from a conscious being outside of time, space and matter with nothing to be conscious *of* before it consciously *created* something to be conscious of. Naturally.

  • @CthulhuSpawn007 If God does not exist, how do we explain the orderliness and beauty in everything from the expansion and contraction of the universe right down to atomic structure? I refuse to believe that it's all a matter of accident, as accidents produce chaos and mess, not orderliness. No, having pondered this issue on and off for 32 years, I believe that creation reflects the orderliness and power of God, that we are made in the image of God, and that Jesus reflects the essence of God.

  • @CthulhuSpawn007 Nah, if God actually existed it would suck big time. Really.

  • vid like this makes u realise how small we are :X

    5/5

  • we were forced to watch this in one of my physics class a few year back.

  • You live in canada?

  • @Anna001007009 i had to watch something similar. like some guy laying down in a park then it zooms out and tells you all the powers of tens and how far they really are

  • yeah, thats the one I saw.

  • Then we saw some atoms! SWEET!

  • Great music, like in the cartoons of the time we weren't born. It felt sad though when the rowing-boat was turned to real life picture again. The colour turned dark and atmosphere slightly more dim. even though it was shining! :)

    -Tonight's Entertainment producers

  • intriguing

  • it would've been cool to start with the atom then gone into deep space. that would be so epic

  • Great!

  • That was really cool.

  • i want a camera like that lol

  • I want Google earth like that :P

  • Nice
