Bring back the 2nd gen shuffle. I had mine for 3 years and it just crapped out on my yesterday. I don't like this newer one at all. I've gone through 4 sets of headphones with my old one. Also the Voice Over feature is beyond unneccesary. I don't need a Speak n Spell voice telling me what song is playing. It's my iPod, I know what song it is.

you can't connect the stupid thing on a car aux port because of the stupid remote, then if you must connect you have to buy the stupid belkin adapter which is cheaply made and unreliable.

I agree with Andrews701. I was about to say, this is a financial move on Apple's part. If you use or break the headphones, you have no choice but to buy new headphones from them. I'm willing to bet that the headphones are expensive.

You can use any earphones you want you just cant change the song so you just plug in the earphones with the remote set to shuffle or play in order and then switch the earphones you just need to turn it off first for about 5 seconds when changing earphones
