Is it normal to find white powder in the cavity of you electric guitar? I cant find the answer anywhere. I opened up my electric guitar to get at the wiring and I found a white powdery substance in the pick up cavities, I have opened up at least 5 guitars and never seen this before. Is it just powder from buffing and the maker doesnt bother to clean out the cavity? theres an awful lot of it in there.
i made a frankenstrat, but what kinda of clear coat should i aplie, it's really hard, i have apply one, but it make everything worst, and i have to start all over again, can you tell me a name of a product of clear coat please??
no . Before there is any stain/lacquer there is a nitrocellulose paste that is creamy colored and it is wiped all over the guitar to fill the pores after the last sanding . Then it is sanded again and sprayed with the stain and lacquer combonation and wet sanded 7 times and the last coats are clear coat once the desired stain is achieved . Thanks .
post whitch is first, for a guitar's wood alone: 1ª put on the wood a cream covers pores for wood, 2ª u put a laquer, and 3ª u put the the paint... please? thanks in advanced :)
the guitar is first covered with a nitrocellulose paste that is spread and then sanded to fill all the pores and then it is stained and lacquered at the same time .
What type of cloth would I use to hand-buff a laquer finish. I don't have those buffing wheels. How long would it take?

what would i use for the top coat if i was to paint a guitar, a urethane clear or a lacquer?

We'll with paint you probably would seal the guitar first with a wood sealer or you could buy the automobile paint that Pete uses .

@JohnnyTsak316 Does the auto paint affect the tone? I always thought Nitrocellulose was the way to go because it is so thin.

:)u mean, on the raw wood:
u create a creme-mix between the "nitrocellulose paste" & the "sand smooth's paste"(paste for cover the pores of the raw wood)...
and, now u STAIN the raw wood with this cream-mix?
