  • gta vice city stories this was the perfect song for that game and dokken were one of the best rock bands of the 80,s so underrated

  • How you can not like this is beyond me...

  • Excellent song!

  • pilson is such a crack up

  • Great song even though only a few know about this great band

  • 1,113 PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND 13 "cunts" don't!!!!

    Frank DeAngeli$

  • @gothembadboy1 do what i do with them cunts,fuckem

  • Great solo from Lynch.

  • Dokken kicked the shit out of the 80's! Dam I miss the 80's.

Where's Doc Brown when you need him?

  • .LYNCH is dokken

  • @mdogg2011 Stop being a cunt. Don is technically "Dokken", literally that is, but Dokken isn't the same even without just one of them. Imagine Dokken without Don's voice, I wouldn't give a shit about their music. Don has an attitude problem, but fuck me, so does George Lynch. Check out their album cover of Shadowlife. Lynch did it just before the release of the album, without telling the others (coz he was a bit angry with them), needless to say they were furious.

  • If you TRIED you couldn't parody this any funnier than the original. What's with Don on the bed in a tunic with freshly waxed legs? I kid.. saw this tour when they opened for Krokus.

  • @jefgg good call on George's hair!! Best Dokken tune

  • they are going to be back together in 2012 ALL4

  • George Lynch had the same hairstyle as the guy from Kajagoogoo and was still a guitar god. Very few could pull that off.

  • Love the video!!!! The girl is soooo hot,not like what you see nowadays!!!! When I go out to a club, most of the women look like they graze on an open field, and they act like the "Neurotic Drama Queens" on the show Desparate Housewives"!!!! Too bad no one has invented a time machine to go back to the '80's,or I would go back there in a minute!!!!

  • Must break chains!

  • this is one of the best songs and videos ever. hands down. like what you want but fuck this shit is what i am about !!

  • nice

  • So cheesey it's actually quite awesome......

  • his guitar had chains!

  • Dokken kicks so much fuckin' ass... We miss you 80's !!!

  • Dude the last time Don Dokken saw George Lynch he was choking him lol

  • @glamrockcowgirl or spitting loogies on him lol.

  • IM ROCKIN WITH DOKKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 10 people didn't break their chains!

  • I want my hair back and i want my leather jacket back.

  • I was a teenager during this time. Loved Headbangers ball and Dokken. But yes this video was a little cheesy even for than. Why was Don wearing a shorty robe.?

Lol... Still loved them. Always will!

  • i have a question, this song appears on nightmare movie?

  • @TheLeocure92 no, their song "Dream warriors" on nightmare on elm street 3: Dream warriors. this is after Lynch left the group

  • @ECW5320 thank you very much :D

  • @TheLeocure92 no prob.

  • la metal...

  • honestly the only reason i like this is because the video is so fucking cheessy

    (or however u spell it)

  • Loved the band back in the day, but this video is so hilariously cheeseball horrible (then and now). Perfect to watch when I'm having a bad day. lol

  • @Jaserace1 Dokken said in an interview about the video saying he doesn't like it

  • Comment removed

  • sorry but I cant break the chains like you guys can=)

  • love the part where he accualy breaks the chains and starts playing the guitar , and then uses its magic to realese the others.

  • the greatest dokken song EVER!

  • I miss the 70s and 80s, with all the cool videos and great music. Plus, you could say "Hey, listen to this new song, it's awesome" and it would ATCULY be awesome! Why was I born in 1995?

  • gay video FUCKING GREAT SONG! xD -_-

  • Mr. lynch rocks hard!!

  • this song is defently 80's all the way baby haha but i love it :)

  • not to be trolling or hating. george lynch is a sick shredder. don dokken has amazing vocals but... they have some of the lamest lyrics in hair metal history :)) or maybe just this song at least

  • @aydooknow hahaha the video is definately one of the most low budget productions ive ever seen.....still a great song though XD

  • Thumbs up if you found this on GTA: Vice City Stories!

  • 1:06 hahahah breaking the chains...

  • I'LL COME BACK!!!

  • lol pure cheese, exactly what made the 80s fun

  • the audio is out of sync

  • Funny thing about this video is Jeff had never played this song once on his bass before doing this video.

  • yeah the video blows..BUT THIS THIS SONG STILL KICKS ASS!!!!ubut 1982 video what do you expect

  • This is probably one of the gay-est f$&@ing videos they've ever made but I still like the song. So Verse 2 kinda sucks but most of the song still stands the test of time. Especially George Lynch's guitar - genius.

  • Comment removed

  • The video chick is OK..You would think they would find somebody hotter!!..just saying..

  • Is it me, or when Don is chained to the bed in the white karate robe, he bears a slight resemblance to Willie Ames, aka Tommy Bradford of Eight is Enough fame?!? Insert bad joke here! :)

  • Looks like Luke Skywalker, Waldo, and Macgyver joined forces in that hallway. They tried hard to make Mick Brown look like someone but thank god we don't get a closeup.

  • Love the song but I think we needed the girlfriend on the bed for the crotch shot at 3:04

  • that solo is so fuckin awesome i love how he breaks out of the chains but it wouldve been better if it was just george instead of all of them lol

  • 1:04 guitar with chains instead of guitar strings!!!!

  • #17 -DOKKEN-BREAKING THE CHAINS- rompiendo cadenas yeahhhhhhh TU JOVEN METALERO escucha buena musica no porquerias que te quieran meer a webo esto es rockk"""

  • this song is so good that i have stuck in my head and play it every 20 minutes and never gets tiring

  • There was enough cheese to make a few sandwiches in this vid, but I remember worse from the 80s, the technology was still developing back then. Dokken is one of the most talented of the era, Don and the boys knew what it meant to ROCK; I really miss those days...

  • UAUAUAUAU

  • i remember good times with this song, my teenage

  • miss having my long hair.long live the 80s

  • EPIC Song

  • vice city stories =D

  • video is a bit funny :) but song rocks :D

  • i wonder why people give dokken so much shit

  • Hey all metal 80's fan i love this song but is there somewhere this video in better quality???

  • @glammetalfan7 Uhm...as in "better quality of the image" or in "better quality of the video" ? LOL...even Don Dokken says he cringes when he sees this video...the song is great, though...

  • This is the true music, the music that inspires and helps the listener to leave the negative things behind. I wish i was born earlier, when the music was real! Not autotuned , with meaningful lyrics and real instruments not MIDI! 50's -> 80's The Golden Age of True Music

  • Horrifying video...

    Kick ass song!

  • @Stranglethroat Dam you, you took the words out of my mouth.

  • DOKKEN \M/

  • ABSOLUTE CLASSIC

  • Damn! Don was cute back in the day! xD

  • Ok what can be beter then being bord and listening to rock and roll music?Nothing!

  • My favorite part is how the solo saves them all

  • they should replace the thumbs down button with a replay button. this songs rocks!!!!

  • This was the first video. Pilson, the bass player, was new to the band and did not even know the song yet. Watch his hands. He does not know where to put them.

  • @mcafeeyulia I always wondered about that. Wow.

  • this is the best dokken video i have seen

  • love the syncronised jumping at 0.56 :D

  • @XRKENT

i know that is cool. right when i read that i watched it and im like sweet

  • @ISelfMyLove Rokkendokken is my username. i like dokken. they rock!

  • I love these guys!I love this video even though it's a little cheezy!LOL!

  • I love Dokken!!!!!!!!!! This was one of the first "tapes" that I bought. George Lynch is one of the best guitarists ever.

  • I love Dokken!!!!!!!!!! This was one of the first "tapes" that I bought.

  • Amazing song

  • 0:18 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @3impersonators

I don't get it. I was looking and didn't see a funny part.

  • @cfcues Sorry, maybe I'm just amused too easily. I was laughing at the look Don had on his face just then. I thought the "huge eyes look" was funny.

  • Best song EVER

  • this song sucksssss. sooo cheesy. SOOO generic.

  • The only problem with this song is that it's too short..:(

  • "We all been living in chains for a 1000 years and we dont even know it or even see it at all"

  • his band mates were imprisoned, but George Lynch freed them with a chain shattering solo...awesome

  • Excuse me I am gay and love this music it's about mens freedom you straights are stupid these guys are cool wish music was like this now

  • Great riff, and Don Dokken had great phrasing.

  • ppl r stupid if u dont like the song dont lsten 2 it the 7 ppl who dislike this song r gay go listen 2 ur gay ass bieber cds losers

  • i saw lynch mob a couple days ago.

mr scary is now above eruption thanks to Geroge Lynch

  • It's a shame I waited 25 years to discover this band. After Burning Like A Flame, I became a Dokken fan.

  • 7 people didnt break the chains...weak

  • To bad these guys only had 1 song that made it only as far as #13 in the hit charts and at that time sold over 10 million records but failed over time down to 330,000 records in the 90's a band that had potential but had a ton of issues along the way .They went through tons of band members and lawsuits . Band Fail for a rock band . LED ZEPPELIN RULES

  • @Lotum4n

but didn't most 80's bands fall down the charts in the 90's? just the same as 70's bands fell down the charts when the 80's rolled around, etc.

  • @Lotum4n

    But Lynch kicks Page's ARSE!

  • heay

  • wasnt this chick on flash dance ??????? HAHAHAHAAAA

  • @scrotalot

HA.. surprised you pulled the grungy underwear off your head long enough to make a comment

  • WOW... 25 years later I am finally realizing just how good these guys are. I rocked out back then, but sadly only focused on other bands and really only thought of Dokken with Dream Warriors. They obviously have so many more great songs.

  • f-------- ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome video, awesome song, awesome band - DOKKEN !!

  • the quintessential cheesy 80s video, its amazing to see the later videos from dokken and see the difference

  • this song is awesome. Is it any wonder why Dokken stood out in a crowd of other bands? Their first record, Breaking the Chains, was freakin excellent!!!! The entire album is excellent. Its an "A+". Most bands beginning efforts were poor. Dokken's first effort was excellent. Anyone that thinks that Dokken sucks, can suck my balls. Don, George, Jeff, and Wild Mick were a complete and skilled band. Dokken's first 4 records are all exceptional in a crowd of other albums.

  • @tigerced73 100% agreed.

  • I love the cheesy guitar solo sections that all the videos in the 80s had. They are so entertaining to watch.

  • Dokken isn't even that HAIR metal-that's motley crue, poison, ratt, etc. Dokken doesn't wear much makeup. Theyre just straightforward metal

  • @666heavensdemon No they are hard rock with some glam influence.

  • i love like all hair metal bands have a great guitarrist

  • this is one of Lynch's best solos... so awesome

  • great song, lame video.

  • On Friday February 11th , The People of Egypt broke the chains of Tyranny and no one esle now can bind them , We thank everybody who supported us , And Always Rokken Dokken

  • this is 1983

  • Dude Don Dokken is the fucking shit!!..I was just lookin for a song to rock out to and I got more than I had a right to ask for with this song..Slammin riff, heart, and soul!!

  • @jhillst you must like beiber! we got a beiber fever faggot!

  • @NMmiguel93 No, I like rock bands that are known for their actual music and not what their hairstyle looks like.

  • @jhillst Yeah but I love the image!

  • @jhillst WTF dude this is the best ERA of metal eVER

  • @jhillst I Can't Wait Until The Era Of Rock And Metal Of Today Is Over!!! Everybody Screams Because They Can't Sing, But If They Do Sing It Sounds Like Crap!!! The Guitar Solos Today Have No Soul And The Drum Beats Today Have No Groove!!! Today's Music Sucks!!!

  • @jhillst Dokken was a players band. They didn't really care about all the other crap. They weren't posers they could play. If you're talking about the era of rock like Zeppelin or Hendrix being the best then that's cool. But you can't compare anything today to Dokken.

  • @GuitarArmy95 I just find that whole era (80s "hair metal") to be really distasteful. Poison, Ratt, Cinderella, Skid Row, Motley Crue, etc. etc...sure they could play their instruments well, but the way they were marketed and the things they glorified (dangerous drugs, partying, treating women as sex objects) IMO gave rock n' roll a bad name. There are plenty of bands today that can play good music without relying on image and endorsing the stereotypical rock n' roll "lifestyle."

  • @jhillst Dude it's about the music. And the music kicked ass. I don't remember Dokken, Iron Maiden, or Queensryche glorifing any of those things. Sure, the ones you named do and I know that. But Dokken made very few songs about that stuff. They did more ballads and love songs. Iron Maiden made "epic" songs and Queensryche made songs about the cold war and the negative effects, of drugs like cocaine, had on society. The 80's had their ups and downs.

  • @GuitarArmy95 Iron Maiden was alright. I like some of Ozzy's stuff too. I thought Queensryche's music was way too overblown though. What can I say, I like subtlety, and there's very little of that in heavy metal.

@thebichomaster: Playing fast and loud doesn't always mean "great."

  • @jhillst That's cool man. At least you see both sides of the coin. Most people are very "one way" with their opinions. You can carry a conversation.

  • do not hear metal when ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just never mind. plus your dumb and fat and also your dunmb wait i already said that your double dumb!!!

  • @jhillst Quit being a pussy, you sound like Tipper Gore....

  • @IndyBearFan88 I sound like Tipper Gore? Well shit, I didn't fucking know that.

  • @jhillst Although i like the music of bands that you've listed, i agree that most of the lyrics cover same topics in 80s hard rock songs, its like the exaggerated version of led zeppelins sexism-machoismo of the 70s. i think its generally had to do with 80s overall apoliticism, 60s generation was long gone in the 80s and social conservatism was on the rise.i need to say that still i prefer 80s apolitic love-party lyrics over the adolescent nihilism of death/black bands anyday.

  • @jhillst Way off! The bands who gave metal a bad name are the dirty fucks in thrash who had little talent and always glorifying violence and occultism! Glam/hair rock was well received in the eighties becuase it was uplifting, energetic, and all about having fun!

  • thank yyyyyooooooooooouuuuu

  • crazy good chorus, and amazing guitar solo not seen in todays shit for brains rap.

  • 3:09 Luke Skydokken

  • omfg chain guitar strings so f-ing badass.

  • 7 ppl couldn't break the chains

  • damn that mail is fast! got a letter in 1 day!

  • Apparently 6 people would rather play with Hummel figurines than rock like gods.

  • dokken is the best

  • George Lynch forever....

  • This video was so uber-corny even back then. To go from this, all the way to "Heaven Sent" and "Walk Away" a few years later is what I call much-needed progression. LOL

  • Chains, Broken.

  • If you wanna ROCK you gotta pay your dues! These kids I'm surrounded by need to stop crying and take action. ROKKEN WITH DOKKEN

  • DONS ALMOST 60 AND STILL ROCKEN

  • 0:52

now i see where Gus G. got his signature model

  • I would have banged alot more chicks during the 80's, but i honestly couldnt tell them from the chicks cause of the huge hair. Oh, well, they are all fat or dead anyways, so rock on bitches
