Ok so basically I have this problem, I got a Wii in 2007, modded it, played a bunch of games, then a while ago I installed some new IOSes and wii version and was able to play a couple of newer games, however a lot of my older games stopped working, such as Super Mario Galaxy, House of the Dead games and lots of others. How do I fix this stuff without having to sacrifice half of my games? I'm running games from DVD btw, I'm sure they'd work with a USB loader, but is there no way to run it on DVD?

and from before, you dont go into the SD card menu/bannerbomb to load the cIOSrev13a installer. you just need the homebrew channel and to make sure the cIOSrev13a folder is in the apps folder of the SD card

Nope, 4.2 was principally designed to eliminate homebrew. I had many cIOS's and downgraded IOS's installed before i updated. All it did was revert the cIOS's back to their origional form so i had to reinstall them.

No but i do believe some firmware was left in its origional/modified state (a form that wasnt compatible with the backup launcher).

the 4.2 update will revert all the IOS's back to their origional form, modified or not

im no good with downgrades but id say that some IOS or cIOS you have forgotten about and thats why its not working.

Id reccommend you update to 4.2 as it will revert all IOS's back to their origional form and follow my other method

1. what game ISO were you using?

2. What type of DVD were you using?

3. What Backup Loader were you using?

4. What speed did you burn the ISO at?

Is all of these were the same as the video id suggest you try using Uloader to laod your games. You can find it if you google *Uloader 3.2*. click the first result (its on tehskeen forums). Download and extract. Copy the Uloader folder in the apps Folder Then load it up, click DVD and try again.

Hi all just to say ive been burning games with nero @ 2X speed, i was using img burner but sometimes it would take me 4, 5 attempts to burn 1 game with nero 1st time every time. For those of you experiencing similar problems.

Id say it would be your burner/processor not working properly with IMGburn as its never set me wrong (does sound crazy but ive never heard of anyone being set wrong by IMGburn).

get yourself WAD manager 1.3 or 1.4 ONLY AS A HOMEBREW APP and try it again. obviously you will need to have the HBC installed for this. It may work but im really not sure

I have tried softmodding and the far I've got is installing the HBC but it doesn't function very good still. I have software version 4.0e and my serialnr. is moddingable. When I try the above as soon as I go to my SD card where the boot file whould ask me to load the software on the SD Card, it simply freezes. I cannot enter the SD card.

That happened to me after i had installed the backup channel, apparently one of the cIOS' doesnt respond well with bootmii and causes it to freeze.

theres really nothing you can do about this, but i updated mine to 4.2 and it works fine now

this means that theyll only be uploading at 1kbs when there downloading, but once there finished, theyll start seeding at 20kbs

ive been lucky to get 20 kbs on these wii iso torrents before. and i try to be patient with it, so in a way, if it was consistant at 20kbs i would be ok with it

and what do you seed at then if its so important to you to be seeding at least ibps but you wouldnt go all out

if your interested i run my rate whilstr downloading at 15 and my alternative at between 20-50

if you want to run indiana pwns get yourself a copy of lego indiana jones and get the exploit from wiibrew. and follow their guide to run the omebrew

if you have updated, do not attampt to load any new homebrew onto your wii. the currently (as of oct 1st 09) is the indiana pwns exploit which works very similar to the twilight hack. but unfortionately, the bannerbomb exploit and smash stack no longer work (the twilight hack never worked for 4.0 and still doesnt)

so keep yuor wii's at 4.0 which is reccommended by the homebrew experts or 4.1 even. many exploits need to be updated to keep homebrew running.

ok another update. nintendo officially released update 4.2

DO NOT BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UPDATE YOUR WII TO 4.2 IF YOU RUN HOMEBREW OF ANY SORT.

nintendo released the update with the tarfet of homebrew and all its forms at the highest prority. it uninstalls the homebrew channel and reverts all the CIOS' to their origional form, making any other homebrew useless.

there is an update for the homebrew channel V1.0.5 which is safe against the 4.2 update. but updating still isnt reccomended

also, we tried getting the 4.1 update from a disk and we bricked our wii. we changed the system menu ios from 35 to 249 on the preloader and we got it working again. so if you intend on updating your wii, use the internet update because it works almost perfectly with it =)

i recently updated my wii to 4.1 and the homebrew channel and backup launcher are both still there and working perfectly.

i did however, lose the preloader. and there is no current way to get it back on 4.1. so i'd need to get that back before i do more hacking.

also i dont reccommend you try installing this on 4.1. it was designed for 4.0 and although it may work on 4.1, i'd reccommend it on 4.0

newly updated wii's (4.0 and 4.1) cant have homebrew installed on them with the twilight hack. they need either loadmii (as seen in this video) or the bannerbomb exploit. head over to wiibrew to get both of those.
