  • i used to play this religiously on sat nights San Diego KCR Radio SDSU. late 80s

  • they usta say-"no more fuckin rocknroll"- I have that tape

  • thas whas up

Man how I used to love this song back in the eighties, still sounds cool to me straight to my faves

  • dis nigga wack he ripped off og ice t

  • @SoCalLocsta no i heard ice t sayin in an interview dat schoolly d came wit this style 1st and he was heavily influenced by him. ice t said schoolly d was da 1st gangsta rapper. tbh i wuld say kgr was da 1st gangsta rapper and schoolly d was a precursor 2 gangsta rap but wateva

  • Schoolly D tells it how it is!

  • ironically enough... black performers were credited with inventing the rock n roll style ( chuck berry, et al )

btw, what is THIS clown doing now?? bands like Poison , Warrant, etc STILL tour..

  • Although its extreme I do like this sentiment as a rejection of the laziness and cultural dumbness that exists in a lot of of rock'n'roll, but much respect to the fresh styles within rock'n'roll that promote our evolution !!

  • This was back when wrestling was COOL

  • @tmundo ya blacks created rock n roll

  • If you compare today's rappers to Schoolly, they are all a bunch of pussies! I love Metal-Rock but what Schoolly was targeting was the sissy Hair Bands like Poison, even metal guys hated all those hair bands like Warrant, I hate them still! Today's rap is crap that's why I stay old school!

  • rAP MUSIC IS A VERY DIFFERENT CULTURE IT WAS CREATED BY BLACK PEOPLE AND PUERTO RICANS IN NEW YORK ROCK N ROLL IS JUST ANOTHER GENRE PEOPLE CAN CHOOSE WHATERVER THEY WANT TOI HEAR BUT OLD SCHOOL RAP IS DA BEST

  • D WUEVOSSSSSSSSS

  • This song is so badass. Schooly's "Welcome To America" has rock guitar on it. Schoolly is badass.

  • @MrChallenger2000 big white tits.

  • @jiggles11 Thanks, that interview is pretty ironic in retrospect. Rap has done exactly what he hoped it wouldn't do, there's no rawness anymore. All glitz and "swag" and bullshit.

If anything rock has become even worse. Christ, at least in the 80s there were still some decent bands going, like Maiden or AC/DC. Now all this emo/indie shit, ugh.

  • rock n roll has dramaticaly evolved since the 80's in where rap an hip hop has remained the same..but you dont hear any rock songs about how primitive rap music is..when rap music aquires different time signatures,or even expand beyond the verse, chorus, verse and cliche lyrics, then they can start talking shit. until then, its a joke

  • @TheGypsyaura lmaaao this comment is so incorrect I don't think I hould even bother trying to explain it you. Rock and roll has barely changed since the 70's* let alone the 80's, many artists nowadays are just 70's hard rock reincarnations. Hip hop has evolved so much its ridiculous, went from just hip hop to having like a million sub genre's. go on any rock song, say... stairway to heaven or something.. tell me you don't see legions of racist anti rap comments, do the same for hip hop, nothing

  • @enacra101

cmon due a million sub genres?

lets see there is gay rap, gangsta rap(RIP),ummm..... Wu rap?

umm...... i won everything rap? thats 3 and the only real one is Wu TAng so rap sucks today its all gay like the rappers themselves

  • @theaznlvr hip hop, gansta rap, alternative hip hop, rap rock, political rap, dance rap, pop rap, horrorcore, hardcore rap... f it theres too many but you get the point... psychadelic rap, hipster rap, it literally breaks off into rap from certain areas, grime(uk), west coast hip hop, New York hip hop, southern rap etc

  • @enacra101

rap sux now dude theyre are no more pioneeres just gay ass people in the uk copying the gay ass shit in the us niow

  • @theaznlvr you've got to look past the crap they pass off as rap on the radio bro, the underground actually has some decent up and comers right now, that aren't all about all that braggadocio bs

  • Mang, Schooly D really hated rock, this is like the 2nd song he made about that shit. What's his problem?

  • This song makes me fall asleep.Don't know why they're all whining about rock n roll. They must know shit about it, chill out with your bling bling and rappelidoodilidoo, 'gangsta' and whatever, I don't care. Only pisses me off to hear 'hatesongs' like this. I'm rather born to be wild. Freedom to all.

  • of course a bunch of hip hop negros would rite this this song blows ans so dose rap

  • You're a fucking idiot.

  • Go back to school

    -Cold Phonic

    *Free EnTyce!*

    *LoveLife! GetMoney!*

  • Well all music came from the same root. A caveman hitting a rock against another rock and shouting.

  • que mierda es esto?? l

  • It's weird because African Americans created rock n roll.

  • Oh, and in his song "We Don't Rock, We Rap" he sampled Billy Squire's 'Big Beat' so he must like rock music to sample it.

  • This is so shit.. Rock N Roll for ever it will never die out and will always be remembered! Rock N Roll #1

  • lol

  • Amusing how he used rock on his Welcome To America album

  • music is a gift....pandemic amongst humans....

  • Hip hop music was inspired by jazz, fusion, disco , blues, soul, funk, reggae rockers, 60 poetry and yes a little bit of rock and roll. DJs like GM Flash, GW Theordore, Bambatta etc... use to mix cuts like Aerosmiths "walk this way" as a break beat long b4 Run DMC made a song and video to it in 85. Alot rappers did the same thing with other breaks beats when they made songs in the 80s. I beleive Schooly D was addressing Run DMCs songs, Rock Box, and King of Rock when he made this cut.

  • Rock and roll is still here. Where the fuck is this clown?

  • funk, soul, jazz...

  • No more rock n' roll? where would rappers get their samples from?

  • funk, soul, jazz, blues, classical, disco, electronic music....

  • he talking about the long hair faggots that was comming out at the time the poison's and the slaughters, rocc and roll use to be networth, then them bastards start making it about "look i have a guitar and i can swing my hair around" fucc those bands yell

  • I doubt he knew the difference between them and other bands.

  • you are correct! i am listening to hiphop for about 20 years.... i believe that schoolly just wanted to start a little controversy, and with songs like this he would be in foccus of the media.... schoolly started a little beef campaign with the rockcircus! he uses a lot of rocksamples back in the days.... remember johnny the fox?!?!?!??! he uses the sample on "how a black man´s feeling"!!! there are really, really a lot of great rock tracks from back in the late 60 to end 70is! oldschool rules!

  • dumbest comment i read in a while bluecollarman2007. hahaha

  • doesnt he make rock

  • He's just mad because he got sued (successfully)by Led Zeppelin for trying to rip off Kashmir Road! Plus, music that requires playing an instrument is always a threat when all you know how to do is talk to a rhythm. The white guys playing in this video are punks. I'd like to see him in the ring with a marine!

  • Schoolly Is the shit fuck you

  • word

  • he released more songs proclaiming his hate for rock before led zeppelin sued him in the mid 90s

  • I Hate Rock Too. Hip Hop 4ever.

  • what the fuck?. old school rap and old school rock are true music, examples like eric b. and rakim and pink floyd. and nowadays rap and rock, that are very fagget and fake like 50 cent and my chemical romance. real rap and real rock rules.

  • This is ignorant. I like rock.

  • Nah Nigga, u be ignant.

  • I feel bad for the kids born in the 80's

  • some of the first hip hop beats were taken from funk and disco. the rock influences didn't come until about the mid 80s. Schoolly D was influential though...if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have the line "6 In The Mornin'..." Ice-T used that line in a track baring the same name. he claimed that he bit off his flow from Schoolly D's P.S.K. which in turn ended up influencing Easy-E in "Boyz In Tha Hood". So check yourself before for you wreck yourself.

  • OMG, is he doing "The Crane"?

    BWAH HA HA HA!

  • Schoolly D sucked even back then! He was the little Wayne of his time!

  • No Sh*t! W/ out Rock there would be no Hip Hop. Run DMC pretty much proves that.

However, it was taken over by a bunch of drugged up, subliminal message sendin', loud & screamin', devil worshippers!!

My name aint James Vance, so I'll take Busta Rhymes over Judas Priest ANYDAY!

  • @ParadigmShift302 YALL BOTH IDOTS rap known as hip-hop music started of the Bronx NEW YORK i dont belive any of the hip-hop pioneers like kool herc n africa bambataa listen to rock n roll , i mean get da fuck out of here lets be serious, if anything ROCK N ROLL stole from hip-hop later on!! how bout that

  • @ParadigmShift302 the blacks invented rock n roll if I'm not mistaken

  • @ParadigmShift302

drugged up, subliminal message sendin', loud & screamin', devil worshippers!!

    wow * rolls eyes*

  • lwts go back into time! without black music, there would not be rock&roll! what cha sayin about that?

  • youg ot it all wrong and this goes to alll the people who think rap came from rock and roll rock came from jazz rap came a lil bit from rock and roll but it really came from jazz get your facts right

  • @XsmashthescilenceX

umm and what music did rock come out of?

since you dont know ill tell you it came out of blues/country/r & b

rock stole from them 1st dude

  • @XsmashthescilenceX hahah the whole point of this song was to get rock and roll fans like you mad, and because of you, you let him win, its just a song, im sure even schooly d likes rock n roll.

  • @XsmashthescilenceX at lest he can make a song stupid damn fuck

  • nice

  • Sorry! This is titled "No More Rock N Roll". That means this is for the B-Boys. We don't want to hear (crack) Rock.

    Be easy!

  • i know him!!! hes my moms friends neighbor

  • if this a lyrical battle, then surely rap will win. Well it actually depends on the rapper itself.

Fuk this souljatoy, and little wayne. They just killin hip-hop. Please, for the sake of working class people, someone REVIVE IT!

  • This guy is a fuckin' clown in any era!

  • funny i was watching a show about schooly d on one of my satellite channels, he was in fact a very huge fan of rock and roll, it just made him mad how you can go from having these talented great artists like zeppelin, hendrix, the stones, then to some 80s hair flashy faggots that just want groupies and money, kinda like how hip hop went to the new rap....very weird....

  • 80s hair flashy faggots?

  • Its like they say, Rap is the new Rock

  • This is where Run DMC got their most of their style from, along with Flash and Cold Crush.

  • are you fucking kidding me? pffffft!!

  • This is an ironic name for a song from a group that borrowed the riff from Led Zeppelin: Kashmir.

  • which one of his songs borrowed from kashmir

  • Signifying Rapper

  • thanks

  • Anyone have any videos of live shows with Schooly D and Scram? They toured together in 1988 - the first time in history a live band was backing up a rapper!

  • little punk bitch ass motherfucker

  • your father ?

  • you bike stealers suck

  • 60th & Lansdown Ave ( Hilltop ) West Philly All Day

  • didnt schoolly D write the theme for aqua teen hunger force?

  • yes lol

  • RLMFAO

  • @newmanguy73 yes

  • Schoolly D is the man. Damn was this from "Smoke Some Kill"? I haven't heard that album yet.

  • Cheeba Cheeba y'all

  • why doesnt he like rock im black rocks pretty cool

  • black people create rock n roll

  • How old are you, kid? Have you ever heard Saturday night with Schoolly D? Guess not! Don't be ignorant, just appreciate the pioneers of hip-hop.

  • Soulja Boi, probably not. Twista, most definately!

  • he does the athf theme

  • A lot of old skool sounds dated but a lot has aged real well. And this is no exception. Fresh and raw old skool straight in your face.

  • nice mang, but how did you get this rare video and end up spelling his name wrong?

  • "you long haired faggots get out of my face..."

  • did anybody notice the spandex lol damn you'll never see rappers in spandex again. I don't know why people diss the 80's rap period. That's stuff you'll never see again. Rap has gone to the dogs lol

  • i mean i was expectin' ta hear somthin' crude.. no disrespect but damn ! i know cus could've came harder than that on the anti-social tip ...i mean this shit sounds like a mad fresh prince.......

  • by the way besides that, didn't he know that rock n roll had it's roots with black folks...?...the video was somewhat funny but the beat gotta go...over-all it kinda sucked... how can it be that he's a founder of g-rap...? i don't know someone outta research this a lil bit better

  • either he never came across all the bad rock garbage...or he was just lashin' out at whitw- style rock. cause c'mon man there was some fuckin' raw shit back then like led zep, etc i guess that was a good way to break trend while releasin' frustration...above all i think he was bieng more sarcastic than anything.....

  • School D RUUUUUUUUULZ

  • isn't this guy doing life in prison?

  • i didnt think id ever see a schooly d video, now theres 3.nice one lads!!

  • cant even hold a beat... this is horrible!!

  • this is classic! rap music in the makin'.aint nuttin' horrible.... except maybe the hair cuts.

  • Hey CreepX this is the radio version of the song and you're right, it's kinda raggedy. The original version with the R-rated language is crisp and tight as can be, BELIEVE me.
