  • This made me very nostalgic! I grew up in the Woolton area of Liverpool and remember the Quarrymen and early Beatles days very well. So thank you for posting this and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Liverpool.

  • I can't believe that they replaced the Strawberry Fields gates....that makes me so angry! And I know John wouldn't have wanted it.

  • Great video & song!

  • wow ! great pctures and video !!!

  • So I just decided while watching this clip that I will make the trip to Liverpool next summer. I've never been there but have wanted to go for so long, and I just realized I need to get on with it so yeah, next summer, for sure ^^

    Thanks for the pics!

  • thanx man. 'brings back some good memories.

the beatles are still bigger than jesus!

    strawberry fields forever.

  • @rainydayman1 Amen! Above us only sky.

  • #1 place to go before u die :)

  • pete!

  • I can only dream of visiting the birthplace of The Beatles,so thank you so much for this video. And thank you ,Liverpool, for giving the world The Beatles! I am grateful beyond words!

  • great video!!!! thank u for sharing!!! :)

  • MY pleasure and thanks for commenting.

  • @BitterSweetAle Кайфую от Битлз.

  • I have actually lived in the USA for 50 yrs, but I was born in war-torn Liverpool, England. Over half of my classmates perished in the Blitz. However, I am proud to be Scouse.

Our city has produced more number 1 hits than any city on the planet. As for soccer, we have the number 1 most successful club (LFC) and of course the number 4 most successful club (Everton) in the land. I am a Blue. I also love the fact that we are able to boast the tallest non-Catholic cathedral in the world.

  • Look! it's the Land of The Beatles...

aaah! yes, The Rock & Roll Holy land

  • Ah, Beatles Day now goes world wide this year that originally took place on July 10, 2008 in Liverpool--the year you went to England. Last year, Beatles Day also took place in other cities in the UK, China, Russia, and New Zealand. Perhaps, it will happen again in New Zealand in 2010? That would be awesome!

Wishing you many fond Beatles memories. Thank you for sharing your memories of your travels to England.

  • Thanks for that my good friend! They are wonderful memories I won't forget. Looking forward to Beatles Day 2010.

  • @yerblues1968 Is there a significance to July 10th?

  • @notnilccm The people of Liverpool decided that 10th July will be forever known as BEATLES DAY and that date was chosen as it is the anniversary of the Beatles triumphant return to Liverpool from the United States and the premiere of the film 'Hard Day's Night' in 1964.

  • @yerblues1968 Awesome. Thank you so much. Ive always been a huge fan but never heard that before. July 10th is my birthday!

  • @notnilccm Well, congratulations to you for having your birthday on a special Beatles Day worldwide celebration. So, you have a double celebration. Also, July 7th is Ringo Starr's birthday. This year he is touring Europe with his All Starr Band. He will celebrate his birthday in Hamburg, where The Beatles became very popular before worldwide success.

  • @yerblues1968 Good ol Ringo! May he live forever. Greatly appreciate the information and your enthusiasm mate.

  • well done its a great video most of the places i havent evan seen and i live in liverpool, thanks for sharing.

  • Liverpool has many faces and I guess I have only seen a little of these. Your comments reinforce this!! My pleasure!

  • Liverpool should be the best city in the world! :)

  • It has hardship as well, but so do many great cities in the world.

  • You did a great job!! I was in Liverpool in 1985 and 1986 and have a lot of the same pictures. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • Great memories for both of us!

  • Wow great video!:)I wish I could go there:)

  • Thanks for commenting! You can go one day for sure!! Remember I loved Beatles since a teenager but I did not get to Liverpool until I was already past 40!

  • Wow,maybe I will go there to study about them!:)That's what I always say!I want to write a song about them one day!Soon when they pass on.Well I mean sometime later maybe in 10 years!Haha...

  • What is the building at 131..?

  • This is the lobby of the Hard Days Night Hotel with other pics inside the hotel.

  • Did you actually go inside "Mendips"--That's something I have wanted to do for ages. I'd love to do the organised tour which takes you to both Paul and John's former homes.

  • I saw the tours and it is the only way to look inside. I was with my brother walking around but next time I would love to look inside both homes!

  • I keep dreaming about finally getting into those two iconic properties. I just hope to goodness that they don't do anything daft and shut them up for good--All the more reason for me to try and get onto that tour next time I'm home. If you take a look at the Tour of Mendips site, it has fabulous interior shots.. Well worth a look..

  • Thanks I will take a look! Compared to Geoge, Ringo and Paul even, John's Aunt/Uncle lived very comfortably in Mendips!!

  • Fab vid.Love The Beatles and Liddypool.

  • LOL Liddypool!

  • Gosh, I wish I could live in Liverpool :(((

  • You are not the only one!!!

  • ...what a wonderfull places!!!!the beatles live forever.,...

  • Gosh, I wish I could live in Liverpool

  • yeah, why not?!

  • yeah, i think i did everything that a pure fan is supposed to do.

I think i'll do it again sometime.

Next goal is Dakota building NY;)

  • Meet you there 8 Dec 2010 which is 30 years anniversary. We should start up Youtube group to visit lol!

  • Hi again, yes keep in touch if you or anyone want to meet up in Liverpool on 8th Dec this year i`ll be happy to meet you.

Coincidently many years after John died i bought myself a fairly expensive Lennon t-shirt (working class hero with glasses) and only wear it once a year on 8th Dec as my own little tribute! Can`t believe it will be 30 years this year though.

  • Would be great to share the 30th anniversary in such a wonderful city. From all accounts John was talking up returning to Liverpool for a visit.....nice touch with your T.

  • Im from Liverpool and the Beatles still rock after all these years - they will go on forever.

I was at Daokta buildings back in Feb09, spoke to the doorman but he wasnt that interested, suppose he`s heard it all before. I felt eery there though thinking of John !

  • was there on august 1st of that year

  • Did you get around most of the Beatles sights?

  • Thank you so much for what I hope is a preview of my own Beatles Liverpool Journey.

  • Thanks gitarman. Hope it helps you and you get to explore more than just the downtown Cavern/Mathew Street area.

  • Hey, just found this. Thanks for the tour most of us will never get to see. Nice work!

  • Thanks for compliment. It took me 30 years to make it to Liverpool!

  • Great tribute to my home town nzlennonfan - thanks wack !

  • Thanks for the tour. Yup, I'm going to Liverpool some day.

Do you think the airport should called "Beatles" Airport instead of Lennon Airport? I understand why it's Lennon, but with the passing of George, and sadly some day the passing of all of them, it just seems they should all be honored.

  • They do have other memorials to the Beatles but they have 'dedicated' the airport in memory of John. Paul has poured money into his old school to create the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and in a way this is a 'living' memorial for Paul in Liverpool. Maybe there is a memorial for George and I need to research this better. Your comment was interesting - thanks!

  • great video!

    (:

  • thanks for comment!

  • Excellent collection put to a classic track - loved the photo of the Woolton village fete as I now live in Woolton. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

  • I loved wandering through Woolton and the fact it was so close to John's house and I understood then the connection with John. It appears a nice place to live for you!

  • ha - I was in Woolton Village today, dropped me dad off at the white horse LOL !!

  • I was so amazed at the beauty of the place! I just loved walking from John's house past Strawberry Fields to Woolton Village. Just a great meaningful place! I am envious!

  • More chance in London maybe but it sure would be great to meet Paul one day!

  • it would be so interesting if you saw paul walking the streets out there...

but i have to admit that would be rare...but still very cool!!!!

  • Thankyou!

  • Very very well done

  • Very cool you include Pete, Stu. In a way, they are very much a part of what made the band! Wonderful video too! Love the mix...

  • Thanks for commenting on mix. Yes you are right and there was a big contribution from Stu and Pete to shaping of the Beatles.

  • I feel so ashamed to admit this, but I grew up in West Derby Village (just around the corner from Haymans Green), and lived there for 25 years, but never knew about the Casbah Club until NOW!! I guess all the other attractions and places obscured this from my knowledge. THANK YOU for letting me know, and for all the great photos and music! Superb tribute to the Beatles and the city.

  • Well done! It worked as a warm-up! I'm going to liverpool in November.

  • omg so many wonderful memories of liverpool , such a luvly city and so full of beatles!!!!

  • Awesome, ohh. It just started raining here
