  • I'm very lucky I guess to have seen Lizzy with Phil in Manchester England many times they were just incredible live. I've seen many other great rock bands and seriously none of them were as good as Thin Lizzy live. This song is amazing still . Phil Legend Paris Lynott.

  • It's sad that Phil wasted his life on dope. He was very talented...

  • scotts les paul is a 59, desert burst.he replaced the 74 deluxe with this model.

  • @droow It's Phil at 1:15

  • oops 1.28

  • thin lizzy awesome is the only words to describe them-still make your hair stand on end listening to them

  • I have seen two concerts with Thin Lizzy, and I`m proud of it. Lynnot rules

  • I really love Scott Gorhams and John Sykes guitars.

I´m one of those Les Paul fans so can anybody tell me if Scotts guitar was a gold top or did he buy it in that finish ? Because its a very pretty color and the tiger stripes are just killing.

  • It's definitely not a goldtop Les Paul. It's a '59 Les Paul - not sure what you'd call the finish on it though...

  • Yeah I know but I´ve heard that Scott bought it as a Gold top and then he got it refinished to that sunburst. I don´t know if It´s true but so I´ve heard.

  • It was a goldtop, a '56 with P-90's. I asked the guy who sold it to Scott on the les paul forum.

  • Thanks for posting this Waddock!

  • Long live Philo xx The sun went down a long time ago. Lizzy now just can't compare. Thank you for being my hero and my inspiration. Eternally out here xxxx What I would give to see you on stage today?? Money can't buy..........

  • u brought a tear too my eye no one could have said it better thank you

  • It´s not Thin Lizzy without Phil!!

  • its a roland bass made by ibanez with all the midi stuff removed apparently

  • Really? I thought MIDI was a couple of years away in 1983..?

  • Anyone knows what kind of bass he use here?

  • Possibly a fender percission

  • a peavey

  • What kind of bass is he playing....it is no name onthe headstock....

  • peavey

  • yep the brown has well kicked in/big shame.lovely guy!

  • Love this song...Love Lizzy.

  • Thin Lizzy RULES, one of the most underrated rock bands ever...and Phil is a great singer/frontman!!

  • @DJOPITZ How are they under rated... lokks like they made it big time to me..

  • @lordnewry

Because they don't get the credit they deserve. They influenced so many of the bands around today, yet they somehow still aren't in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. All you ever hear about is The Boys Are Back In Town, and maybe Jailbreak. At least here in the states. They are vastly underrated.

  • Thanks to Scott for warning me about the perils of the music biz and DRUGS in the '70s, this message from got thru to me ...pass it on ...and do somethin' about your life

  • phil/god

  • I agree with all the nice things you say above my Lizzy brothers and sisters!.Phil was a true musicl genuis and the rest of the band were ALL excellent musicians!.Let's give a round of applause for the most under-rated member of the band Brian Downey drummer supreme!!

  • @beagleheadfred agreed

  • OMG Phil, why why, we needed more of your music and we needed you. Your music will play on FOREVER.

  • Magnificent... and when I think of the garbage clogging up the radio today... thank-you for posting this.

  • I simply hate Philip died, what a shit for all...what a brilliant guy he was, at least we got all his albums

  • such a loss to the world

  • I saw this line-up in 1983 and met the band before the gig in Liverpool. What a great loss to music when Lizzy packed it in. If Phil was still alive they would have been back together and been one of the biggest bands around! I KNOW THAT WOULD BE FACT!

  • how come i can't find any "holy war" vidz?

  • Thin Lizzy timeless music, what a genius. Check out his solo stuff, brilliant if you can find it.

  • incredible

  • Majestic. You're a hero for posting this.Slightly better than the regal theatre version also on Youtube.Sykes' guitar is a touch out of tune with the rest of the band on that one.

  • sykes is such a legend.. its funny how his stuff with whitesnake is probably his least best stuff behind blue murder and thin lizzy

  • "its funny how his stuff with whitesnake is probably his least best stuff behind blue murder and thin lizzy"

I would've thought that would be inevitable

  • No word!

  • Simply the best...

  • I wish I was born 20 years earlier.

  • same here my friend

  • Imagine if this line-up put one more album?

  • They did, it was a live album. It sucked. Except perhaps for "Are You Ready". That one came out pretty well.

  • The sun may go down Phil, but you Phil, you stay above the rest. R I P Phil, love always.

  • awesome thin lizzy song rip phil lynott.

  • Outstanding.. Love Phil.. Man, what a great combo with John Sykes too!

  • awesome, thanks for this video!

  • Still the best band I've seen live
