  • Napolianboo Hey, my suggestion to getting more views is this. While it is a little bit tacky it is one of the only ways to get noticed on YT. First, find a popular uke YT video that is highly rated. Like, Jake Shimabukuro while my ukulele gently weeps. and post this video as a "video response". That way this video is on a page uke fans go on, not to mention she is very good. Since both songs are Beatles songs that will keep it even more relevant.

  • But it's not as tacky as writing, "MUST SEE" in the title bar, you won't need to do anything like that. I am not a professional youtuber but I know how the site works fairly well. If you are interested in more tips as to how you can get these videos more popular then message me back, and I can send you a more detailed email. Until then, best of luck! She sounds great! Take care guys, cheers from chicago.

  • Easily one of the best unaccompanied arrangements for this song I've ever heard. You deserve to be a star.

  • Picked up a ukulele myself :) Would Taimane be willing to post some chords for her cover?

  • Beautiful arrangement, played with such finesse. Nice job! :-)

  • OK, what i dont understand is you only have 12,000 or so views on this and not many on your other ones, but in my opinion you are one of the best on here for ukulele, but the other ukulele players have way more views on theirs. you are so under rated. Love your work

  • @ekimo20

Yes, I don't understand that either. Do you have any ideas why that might be. This is Taimane's mgr and I think she should have hundreds of thousands of views. What's the secret to getting more views?

  • @Napolianboo i really have no idea if you look at jaaaaaaa's she has millions but Taimane is so amazing at Ukulele i bought one just because of her (cant play it either) i wish i would i have known of her when i went to hawaii some years ago

  • @Napolianboo

truly the greatest way to get recognition on the internet for musicians is to make several accounts on different social networks like tumblr, facebook, twitter. social networks for musicians such as reverbnation and sound cloud are a good place too. obviously the best way to get more views it to keep being great at ukulele and recognition will surely come!

  • JEEEEEZZZ...!!! HOPE YOU'RE MAKING SOME MONEY WITH MUSIC... YOU ARE JUST AMAZING, PLAYING, SINGING NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL... REGARDS FROM BRAZIL!!!

  • @Terena32

  • Do you do concerts in Australia? If so, do you have a web page with tour dates(especially if you were to come to Brisbane). Would definitely see you live. I am a guitarist that plays in bands. I love surf music as I play it a lot at gigs. One night I was on youtube and randomly did a search for pipeline as I love the Ventures. You came up busking to pipeline and I did more searches on your name and found the above. LOVE YOUR MUSIC. You are soulful and play from the heart.

  • @ggtorrisi

Boy, I would LOVE to play in Australia. My parents say the kebabs are great!!!!

You bring it to so many people on so many levels. Awsome musician. Singing brings it all together for the World to enjoy. Your musical journey has made a great leap with your singing. God Bless and we are excited for Your Career to continue to grow even stronger. Thank You for sharing it , with us all.

  • @Roydavila

    Thank u very much.

  • Your talent is one that Australia needs, something different like this in our country would open alot of people's hearts, it's completely different to what anyone here is used to, it's quite odd to find such an amazing talent reply to messages on a youtube account of all things. I'll enjoy watching you develop and watch your career blossom, congratulations on your gift.

If only someone like Jake could teach me half of what you have learnt.

  • @angels10s

    Aloha,

I understand Australia sometimes has ukulele festivals or any kind of music festival would be great to play in. If u have any connections to make it happen please let me know. This is Taimane's mgr at this time. Thank you.

  • What a nice and thoughtful thing to say. Mahalo nui loa. I sincerely appreciate that.

  • oh taimane, you are such an inspiration, this is the most beautiful version of this song i've ever heard... the way you mix picking and rhythmic strumming is heartbreaking. if you ever play the east coast i'll be sure to be there!

  • Your comment is the type that feels so good. It helps to keep me motivated.

  • wow girl ... awesome !!! i never heard this song before ... and now is one of my favorites lol .... anyways ... good job :)

  • Thank you very much for taking the time to write.

  • That is good. She is so talented. It makes me miss my guitar!

  • wow

    truely beautiful

    excellent stuff ;)

best cover version of eleanor rigby i ever heard

  • What a wonderful comment. Mahalo so much. I love and respect the Beatles.

  • Sweet! Thanks to HoldinCoffee for featuring your video.

  • Please pass on my thanks to HoldinCoffee. I appreciate all the help I can get.

  • Why Taimane isn't already an international star is beyond me. She continues to amaze me with each new video. Just AWESOME!

  • Thank u so much. I am trying my hardest. What I have found is that there are a lot of wonderfully talented people out there and it is very, very competitive. But I intend to keep working and and keep getting better. Hopefully, my break will come someday.

  • First impression of this arrangement: sounds more like a harp than a uke. Very nice! The vocals are wonderful, though you might consider backing off a bit when you cresendo(rather than pushing the phrases you sing).

I'm a filmworker, but sang for many years. peace, HM

  • Mahalo for your feedback and advice. I appreciate it.

  • i just have to say, i had this video playing on repeat while i was doing some hw... you make time FLY!

but yea, awesome cover! thanks for the hw help too?

    ha

  • Glad I could help!! :O)

    Tai

  • Really like the way you do this song. Voice, playing, interpretation. And you'r e looking lovely as usual.

  • Mahalo rainbowprof. The Beatles are so great anyone can sing one of their songs and sound good. I respect them so much!

  • your playing is so intoxicating. you inspired me to start ukulele and i love it!

    MAHALO NUI LOA!!!!!

  • You're welcome my brother.

    aloha,

  • You've got a great voice. I'm glad you're going to try to sing more often.

  • Mahalo calandarboy. Singing is becoming a bit easier for me lately.

  • Great cover, added to my favorites! I love the ukulele!

  • Thank you. The ukulele is an incredible instrument. It can do so much. It's like my best friend!

    Taimane

  • Great transitions from strumming to picking and back and also cool tempo variations. Add in singing and this is really quite a wonderful piece. I appreciate the quiet setting too. Five stars!

  • Mahalo again for your helpful feedback. Yes, my backyard is very tranquil. We live right next to a hiking trail and it is very quiet out here in the valley.

  • As Simon would say, "Brilliant!" Enjoyed the composition, playing and yeah, you should sing more often.

  • I'd probably be a nervous wreck playing in front of Simon. That's why the American Idol contestants have all my respect. They handle it so well I admire their focus.

  • Simon sucks...he is rude and his effrontery only hides british insecurities (being in the U.S.) that he has masked so well from the very beginning....

  • Really lovely.

  • Ken,

    thank u so much.

  • your fingers mesmerize

  • Thank u. Some people have called me "rubber fingers". I guess it's a compliment. I think it's funny. But thank you.

    aloha pumehana,

    Taimane

  • Great performance as usual, you have a beautiful voice, you should sing more often!

    Larry

    ( )o)===#

  • Thanks Larry,

My dad is always telling me to sing more, too. I guess I'll try.

    mahalo,

    Taimane

  • Hey, I checked your website for the latest album "Life", but it isn't in the store section there nor anywhere else. Didn't get a response to the question I sent via the website 2 weeks ago, so trying it here: Is "Life" for sale? :)

  • Aloha, I just sent you a message. We are so sorry about the website mail. We just changed website hosts and haven't got everything working right yet.

  • You're very beautiful.

  • Thank you very much.

    aloha pumehana

  • Like your dog, stealing the show ;D

  • My dog's name is Boo. We got him from the humane society when he was just a puppy. He's a good guy and the best snuggler.

    mahalo for mentioning Boo.

  • Just beautiful ~ As usual!

  • Mahalo kaburto

  • amazing.....i have a question... Did she ever reach a point where she felt kinda....stuck? like what am i to learn next? kinda of at a loss of where to pull inspiration from and continue growing as a musician?...i sort of feel like im at that stage....what do i do? any feed back would be appreciated...

  • 1.) Sometimes put your instrument down and only play in your head. Take walks. When u regain your urge to play, do so. But never stop playing music inside your head & visualize yourself playing perfectly.

2.) Another approach is just the opposite. Grind it out. Discipline yourself. All pros in every endeavor have times when they have to grind thru it.

Which one? Listen to your heart. The answer will come. Most importantly, visualize yourself playing perfectly inside your head.

  • thanx...i get pretty fustrated at times because its like i hear a tune...or ill think of some things and when i go and try it out it never works...or so i think.....i appreciate your feed back...mahaloz

  • good answer..i always visualize i'm going to make mistake at certain part..i'll try no. 1

  • that has happened to me quite a few times when learning guitar. it was after like 3 years of playing i thought i knew just about everything that i wanted. but after a break i took it back up and i realized that i had a long ways to go and i find so much joy in playing now.

  • yet again, consider my ass kicked. you are an inspiration, Taimane! :) and thank you very much for posting napolianboo :DD

  • You are very very welcome.
