  • Related to a "Philosophy 101" college course. The Matrix introduces nothing philosophically new; its basic inspiration is Cartesian Skepticism and the Experience Machine. As well as Existentialism.

    It takes those basic philosophies, which a good intellectual knows well already, and plugs them into a beautiful and, let's be honest, badass aesthetic to bring them to a new generation.
