Typical "I'm a youngman, like a good time and don't give a shit about anything" type a tune, I would think. Classic rock n' roll, stuff, Opposed to the "I'm a young man, my girfriend hates me, and my parents suck" stuff you get today with the whiners, going on now. "When, will it end?" "When will it end?"
i was made aware of this song by observe and report and think it is amazing. the easy songs are sometimes the best . let's get chris moylls to play this on radio 1 , that would be great.
it's fucking stupid to have an elitist attitude about a song that came out in 1966 just because you were there for it. if you love this music you should be happy that its getting mainstream exposure in a hollywood movie so that younger people can learn to appreciate it too. jesus, do you love yourself or the music more, i can't tell.
Naaah your wrong man!!!!!! Music today is shit and id say about half of the worlds population would agree!!!!!!! But evey one to there opinion........
its pretty pathetic that a movie with seth rogen has to come out for everyone to appreciate this classic song. man...ive been listening to this stuff since the hippies days
I don't think it's pathetic at all that movies introduce people to music. I'm 19, so obviously I wasn't around in the hippie days. Still, I love The Beatles, Dylan, Velvet Underground, etc. And I too didn't hear this song until "Observe and Report". Who the hell cares as long as the music is being played and people appreciate it?
I loved Observe and Report, and the use of this song during the drug and alcohol binge was perfect. It's this kind of upbeat music being set onto some really depraved stuff that really highlights how messed up the characters were at this point.
this songs good its funny in Observe and Report when they were hitting those skateboarders in the head and doing heroin in the bathroom and cocaine lol
I am glad this song is in the Observe and Report preview; it has been my favorite Yardbirds song (and really one of my favorite 60s songs in general) for ages, and it is about time it got recognition anew!
I was a teen in the '80s--but I was only into '60s music at the time (because I listened to the classic rock station exclusively). Now, I rarely even listen to music on the radio--just the NPR news. I don't think I've heard this classic for a decade at least--but I just caught a snippet of it in an ad for a movie that's coming out with Seth Rogen, it's being heavily promoted right now--and I had to hear it again after all these years.
Exactly the same reason I'm here listening to it! Heard the movie trailer and just had to hear this again.....! thanks for the comment. They really did rock though, didn't they? remember 'House of Omagarshid? somthin' like that....
I actually don't remember " House of Omagarashid", because I never owned any Yardbird albums (or Cream, or Rolling Stones or anything). I only knew the 1960s/70s songs that still got heavy airplay on 102.7 WNEW FM (or 92.3 KROCK) in NYC in the mid to late 1980s." House of Omagarashid" wasn't one of them. But I searched for it here on youtube and there is a goofy video of some family wearing Halloween masks and pretending to be making a music video to the tune of it over here. Cute! :-)
Some good music from then sure, but growing up in the seventies, born in `68, I had to sit through a lot of godawful dreck on the radio too. I'll put some of what's going on now, up against some of the shit that was going on then in music.

You're right. These young pups wouldn't know anything unless it's sold to them in a movie, commercial, or through some other corporate medium.

Hey, better that than nothing.
If kids need to learn about the Byrds and Beatles through K-Mart commercials, so be it...
