  • Can anyone tell me why people think this guy is such a great guitarplayer??

I mean, listen to this.....in my opinion it's terrible.

  • Comment removed

  • @melkiemelkie in my opinion youre terrible this guy is a fucking legend

  • @xokans1 Can be, but his playing is horrible. He didn't develop.

  • @melkiemelkie Your a Dutchie, no one cares about you clog wearing faggots,In a few more years you'll all be praying to Allah and wearing Burkas and Amsterdam will become a bombing test range

  • @darksideka In a few years your...island (just a hill in the sea) doesn't exist anymore, thanks to nature. But...no worries, i love you and i will pray for you.

  • What a story teller. His lyrics are way under rated.

  • turn to 2:11 to see john lennon headbanging.

  • When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.

  • Dam it Carol answer the King!!!!

  • my name is Carol... (:

  • He he is definitely not a great singer. But I can hear clearly whom the Stones covered, LOL. Easy to do.

  • @patriciaobrian whats your idea of a great singer?LOL...

  • I love CHUCK.....but people who think he was the inventor of Rock & Roll are just wrong. I have spent a considerable amount of time researching and you can find examples of black people performing rock and roll back to the 1930s......memphis mini 1930s .....up to Ike turner in 1951 with "rocket 88". Rock existed for many years before the "phrase" Rock & Roll even existed. Just play blues/boogie fast and presto you have invented rock

  • @inkey2 people get mixed up when they say chuck invented rock "n" roll, he didn't you are correct in saying people were performing it in the 30's....But what chuck did was he invented what rock n roll is all about, e.g guitar riffs, singing about girls and fast cars and having a bad ass attitude on stage, being a rebel. Chuck popularized music made specifically for teenagers.

  • @999duhast absolutely right...........laid the ground work for the beach boys type music...girls, cars....you are right on

  • @999duhast by the way....this era of chuck shown here 1970s.....it is my favorite era for him ......the slicked back straightened hair, 70s clothing, the confidence......this was his second surge of popularity...not doubt if chuck stayed young and healthy looking for 500 years he would have surges of main stream popularity that would go on and on and on

  • @inkey2 you are absolute right on, he looked fab in the 70's!!

  • @999duhast READ CHUCK'S BOOK,,There wasn't any R&R radio stations in those days,,Him and his family listened to WSM in Nashville playing country music at night. READ READ READ he says it himself.

  • @inkey2 I love CB also and I love R&R,,but quit kidding yourself. The Blacks in the south adapted the country music they heard on the white radio stations,,to their way of doing it. Those stations were high power in the early days of the late 20's early 30's. Plus the guitar didn't come from Africa. Just listen to JIMMY ROGERS the singing brakeman on those OLD OLD OLD COUNTRY RECORDINGS.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 hmmm you sound like one of these racists (im white by the way) i don't really care where chuck got his inspiration from to be honest, he is the king of rock n roll that's all i know

  • @999duhast You'll have to live 3 lifetimes to know what I know about R&B and R&R. I started in radio in 1958 playing what was referred to as "race music" in those days. Trademarked my radio name in 59. Feel free to check that out. reg.ustm # 2 343 775. I love Chuck's stuff and Bo Diddley,,booked both several times. Got out of radio in 80's. I got tired of getting hit in the butt by the revolving door of Rock Radio. see my webpage themojoman*com

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 check out TRIXIE SMITH...."my daddy rocks me"........she uses the phrase my daddy rocke me with a steady roll. I am pretty sure the song is pre-1940s......check it out and see what you think

  • @999duhast Next time I see Chuck at BLUEBERRY HILL in St.Louis,,I'll have to tell him you think I'm not a fan of his. See BLUEBERRY HILL'S webpage he's there once a month. Chuck's lyrics alone proves he's a genius.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 yeah, but I have never heard any old white music using the phrase rock and roll in the lyrics......but I have discovered it in black music as far back as the 1930s

  • @inkey2 I said they didn't have any stations to listen to that played rock & roll in those days. The term ROCK&ROLL was early NEGRO SLANG FOR SEX. You'll have to live 3 lifetimes to know what I know about R&R. I started in radio in 1958,,playing R&B when it was referred to as "race records". Trademarked my radio name in 59. reg.tm #2 343 775 feel free to check that out. And tell me what song the words R&R was in,,in the 30's. webpage themojoman*com

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 hey was only kidding with you! ofcourse you are a fan of chuck berry, everyone is

  • @inkey2 Chuck's gonna be at BLUEBERRY HILL on Oct 12th,,,only $35. it's usually standing room only unless you get there super early.

  • @inkey2 FIRST ROCK & ROLL song was "Good Rockin Tonight" by Wynonie Harris the goodlooking guy that inspired Elvis,,right down to the performing on stage,,not just standing there with a Mike.

  • ick heb de inne köök krappenpuln sehn

  • why is berry on time with the sound but his drummer not?

  • Elvis is tha king, he is the most popular singer in whole world. Every one knows who the Elvis was. I didnt even hear about chuck berry since yesterday.

  • @MrOrthodoxeast I'm sorry, no one likes realizing deficiencies. But the fact that you hadn't yet heard of the great Chuck Berry reflects badly on you alone. Most everyone who knows their own ears from a hole in the ground knows exactly who Chuck Berry is. And the fact that elvis had tons of money to flush down the toilet on his own marketing doesn't prove too terribly much from a musical quality standpoint. Elvis was a male britney spears from a half century ago.

  • @MrOrthodoxeast LOL>......are you serious.....you never heard of Chuck Berry??????????? LOL....ultra LOL....Thats like saying you never heard of Coca-Cola or the Statue of Liberty.......you are either very young or not an American. Elvis was basically an "entertainer"......like Sinatra, Dean martin. Chuck Berry wrote and performed his songs......just "Roll Over Beethoven" alone has been covered by dozens of famous rock artists including the Beatles....

  • The King!!!!!!!!

  • I saw ozzy osbourne headbanging

  • @ganherngyih nunca me habia reido tanto en mi vida wn]!!!

  • @ganherngyih el mejor comentario hahahahahhaha

  • Good

  • Carol died at 79 and she rocked til the end

  • my mom died march 29 her name was...is Carol

  • cool track ^_^

  • And people wonder why I've never liked Elvis...it's because REAL rock and roll artists are out there...

  • @thvnsaz here is my take on Elvis......he was a bigger than life "entertainer" carefully handled by his manager (Tom Parker). He certainly had a fantastic voice, movie star looks and all the moves on stage. But as far as being a "creative writer and artist" ....catigorically "no". Now this is not mean't to be a "put-down" on Elvis. It's that the average person just "catagorizes" him wrong. Given the era Chuck became famous....had he been white he would have been bigger than Elvis

  • carol??

  • Pure, raw Talent! CB had the whole package!

  • Yes! Ännu en film om fin rock med svensk text! :)

  • I give this 17 Stars on a 1-5 star scale. CB you changed the world you strange butcher of conventional musical wisdom!

  • this video is great but it's too bad there aren't some films from the 50s but I guess we got to be thankful for all the great music Chuck's made

  • 56 people do not have passin for real rock n roll for a legend but likes boring pop music

  • @caulinrocker Looks more like Geddy Lee from Rush

  • Not the best, but it's a lot better than the tedious performance with Keith Richards

  • I think he has to pee :D

  • you poor illiterate racist tool...

    siegfried3011

  • lol he look like monkey

  • There's no one quite like him.

  • I remember kissing Chuck Berry when I was young and his skin was the most beautiiful thing I have ever touched. Even all these years later I still recall it was like silk.

  • @pungooer LIE!

  • @MegaKimbal What a strange comment for you to make. Why would someone lie about something like that. It happened and I remember it with fond memories it. Don't judge others by your moral standards. You may lie but I don't.

  • was 1972 the year this song was originally released?

  • the woman at 2.13 doesn't like it, i however will be queuing up in heaven to meet chuck, maybe Mam can hold my place.

  • @caulinrocker is it really him ? he looks quit famele , buth it are the same glases xD

  • @caulinrocker ese no es ozzy ni siquiera es un hombre ¬¬

  • Chuck Berry played one song, with many different words! Still, it was a good song!

  • little richar a father of Rock N Roll a emperor, Chuck is a King and elvis is just a playboy

  • @befa333 You can loveChuck Berry without insulting Elvis. I love Chuck and Elvis but Elvis was The King.

  • @befa333 shut the fuck up.

  • @befa333

No denying how great Chuck was, a monumental figure, a great American writer. But why do you need to invoke Elvis? I guess it is because he is the colossus that everything in rock music is compared to.

  • @GlenQuagmireful

I think it's got something to do with Elvis being an unoriginal jerk off who ripped off the black artists of the time, Chuck Berry being amongst the most commonly ripped off.

  • @mwarren85 Seriously, what did Elvis "rip off" from Chuck Berry?

  • @befa333 This so called playboy was a damn good singer. The best of all.

  • @melkiemelkie HE WAS JUST WHITE DUDE SORRY LMAO

  • @befa333 chuck berry was the principal influence for little richard so chuck is the emperor, well the god.

  • @befa333 richard, our gay man, was the playboy. he still is.

  • @befa333 how funny & ridiculous - lol

  • great fucking tone. the es-335 i see, what amp did he use? that guitar is fucking awesome.

  • @westprice

    Actually its a ES-355

He often used Fenders - cant see the 1 used in this vid but theres another Fender to his left

  • @lordsong7 i know he's using an es-335, that's why i said i saw it. i was actually wondering what kind of amp he's using. a fender twin reverb maybe?

  • @westprice Ok, I repeat, its NOT a 335 its a 355 - some big differences there like: Gold hardware Stereo output jack Large block inlays Ebony fretboard Gibson's Varitone knob The large double diamond inlay on the head stock If u look at the other videos from the same show it looks like there's 2 Marshall heads lying on the floor behind him but plugged into the Fender cab Not sure - too dark :-)
  • where the fuck is she?!!! CAROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • quick question is there a such thing as a bad chuck berry song?

  • Keith is right. What a treat! Thanks for uploading and sharing this golden treasure!

    Love you CB!!

    Carol

  • I would pay for a sideburns like that...

    Music like this is immortal

  • As Keith Richards said, Chuck Berry is the only person that ever wrote a rock and roll song and everyone's been ripping him off since.

  • si es ozzy??

    :O

  • who knows where i can find some stuff by the piano player ( michael snow ), ive been looking everywhere but this gig is the only footage of him i know

  • No Chuck, no Rock. Simple as that.

Try out Status Quo's version of this classic if you like more power.

  • @jaffax1

    Sorry. Status Quo : Yes

Chuck Barry and rock: Yes, Yes, Yes. Simple like that

    That’s my opinion.

  • The best part about clips of Chuck Berry is that he never has the same band twice.

I've been told that he just hires musicians who know his music in every town he plays in. Well I guess that makes his music universal!

  • @mikeao54 actually he would hire musicians from the town, just assuming they knew his music lol. and they did because he's the king!!!

  • Elvis is a hero to most......he's simple and plain...&^%$#@ him and John Wayne.

  • I have seen tons of videos of Chuck.....his playing can go from loose and sloppy to very tight. This video he is playing pretty tight. I have seen some vids where he is playing so loose and sloppy it's almost embarassing. Could be he was just exausted from touring

  • I always loved this song,my mom is named Carol
