@42sergiog it depends on how far you plan on shooting if i was you just 0 it at 50 yards and a nother thing that may help you is MOA Which means Minute Of Angle Look it up on youtube there's plenty of the deals out there Just type what is MOA and how do I use it
nice video! When you were zeroing your iron sight, you said you adjust your windage with rear sight? I assume you have aftermarket rear sight? Since most factory rear sight can't move laterally IIRC. I recently added a red dot onto mine with the UTG side rail mount, but I don't like the height of it, I can no longer cheekweld onto the stock. I noticed you don't have your cheek press against the stock like you did with the ironsight. Does it bother you?
@gunluvS14 It's not an aftermarket rear sight, it's standard on this model. It's different from most AKs but more what I'm used to. As far as cheekwelding onto the stock it didn't bother me but I've removed the red dot and run the iron sights again. I'm looking into a more efficient way of mounting an optic, then I'll invest in an EOTech.
Your groups at 25 yards are about 1 1/4". Factored out to 100 yards would be a group size of 5". That's about what I got with an SKS I had years ago and it left me kinda disappointed. It's one thing to make your gun go "BANG" and quite another to actually hit what you're aiming at.
When I was in the Corps, we zeroed our M14s to 300 yards which we knew as "combat zero". Once dialed in, all one needed to do was aim at the belt buckle at anything from 1 yard to 300 yards and it was hit.
@william11778 as a army sharpshooter we zero our m4 at 25 meters that way you aim center mass at all targets and they hit.. when u begin to shoot and 175 meters rember u need to lower ur aim because the round will begin to reach jts natural arch at about 175 meters.. wen u aim past 175 u shoulb be aiming juss above center mass.. hope that helps
There is no way you can keep a zero with a scope or sight mounted on the gas tube cover of an AK based rifle or the receiver cover. The Ak has a side mount bracket on the receiver and its the only solid part of the gun that won`t move .Every time you clean that gun you`ll have to take that gas tube cover off.
I just sighted in a 9mm Cx4 Carbine. I can use the iron sights and red dot at the same time with the red dot off. Zero the iron sights and then turn the red dot sight on and place the red dot on the pumpkin. Both sights now have the same zero. I found the 100 yard zero also gave me a 25 yard zero.
At 25 meters that is close enough accuracy for an urban combat in a SHTF situation..I do like the milled receiver that thing not only looks strong but THOSE groups were NICE..
man i wish i had that set up. a desert a jeep and ak47 ur livin my dream right now. so how do you adjust for the wind? and would u recommend wolf over brown bear?
@semiautoriflelover I certainly need to, and I have better ammo than the Wolf to do it with. But the only real range I have here is closed for the time being. I can use my GPS to set myself 100m (the rifle is set in meters, not yards), but I'd like a nice bench to rest at. That crate sucked.
@RIPbiker13 This year I tested many different types and brands of AK ammo and found American brass case ammo and the brass case selliot and bellet ammo the most accurate in my Norinco. Wolf military classic and silver bear shot really well, nice circular groups, Brown Bear was nasty dirty and shot horrible, the impact was much lower.
For zeroing you would want to be dead on because then at longer ranges you would be more precise. You did well though considering that rest wasn't very good. Do you like the adjustable rear sight better than using the standard front post for windage?
@semiautoriflelover i will not sight any gun without the use of a gun vise, even a .22lr. i dont have a vise right now, but i borow someone elses. this way i aint wastin ammo, and when i shoot, im absolutly dead on every time, a gun vise might only cost you about 50-80 bucks, nice gun.
Good video, but will the Tasco hold up to the rigors of combat? Im ex-Infantry, 101st ABN, I would only want something that I could trust in real lifet Infantry combat, that means sleeping outside with it for months at a time in all weather conditions, being dropped everyonce in a while, freezing rain, flaming hailstones, acid rain, global warming bla bla bla...is it a tough unit??
@Gloomshadow1 That's a good question and since I haven't so much as bumped it, I can't tell you for sure. I got it as a cheap alternative until I could afford the good stuff. Besides, it's an AK and I like the iron sights on it. Because those are also dialed in (@25m becasue I haven't had time to go farther), I can use those.
I can't say with any certainty it would hold up, but that being said, it doesn't feel like a piece of junk either. It reminds me a lot of the Army's CCO.
@RIPbiker13 I was looking at one yesterday at wallyworld, they are giving that thing away so I was just wondering. Im all into iron sights too so I dont know If I would actually go through with it anyway. Im working with a AMD65 sporter, so its got no upper handgaurd anyway..I would havet to rig up a special gastube bc I dont think a AMD uses a stock leangth tube, its like a big "Krink' in case you dont know the model.
@59theblackmamba That's neat. I've never read it, nor did I know of it's existence. I was a firearms instructor. That's how I knew what to do. I'm glad to know I'm doing it the right way.
@RIPbiker13 have you tried golden bear? i liked brown bear to, but i got a good price for 500rds of golden bear. i had a .500 inch 3 shot group at 80yards not to long ago(i do have 2-7 scope on my wasr) the golden bear is cleaner though, i remember i used to get little flakes of sealer all in my reciever using brown bear, but they are both good ammo
@akshooter762 I haven't tried the Golden Bear, only Wolf and Brown Bear. Both leave the receiver dirty with sealer but it shoots decent. It's just a little more to clean.
If you tried to zero at 100m you'd never hit the target. So you start the zero at 25m so you can get on the paper. The rear sight is set at a lowest setting. It's the notch lower than 100m but it varies between rifles.
Once you get that zero at 25m you move the rear sight to 100m and zero in at that distance.
I used Wolf for the 25m because it doesn't matter, but I'd use better ammo for the 100m zero.
@SEALofthefuture1962 Thank you. I found it harder to zero AND film lol. The military guys probably all look at this and think of the days they spent hours at the range to do what I did in a few minutes. I used to instruct soldiers in this task, among others. You'll get your chance to do it too.

When you zero in your scope/red dot do you have to change it when your shooting from different yards

i have a Airsoft ak47 in the style like your Real life counterpart.
does it weird you out or make you get used to mounting optics on the far front of the gun?
i had a reason to get a M4 style platform because of the area to apply optics.
but having the optics far front seems weird... im asking for opinions, thats all
