I've been practising conjugations, but I'm not sure if they are correct or not.

So in the various forms for "I/he/you etc.. does something" would it be;

romper: Yo rompo (I break)?

agarrar: Yo agarro (I catch)?

convertirse: Yo convertiro (I become)? I'm not sure about the "se" at the end of this one.

romper: Tu rompas (you break)?

agarrar: Tu agarras (you catch)?

convertirse: Tu convertiras (you become)? Again not sure about the "se".

you are good on all but the last verb.

convertirse is called a reflexive verb. it simply means that the action is being carried out on one's self. an example conjugation would be: me converte or te convertes or nos convertimos. literally, convertirse means to convert one's self.

Your conjugation is not correct. Check this out:

Me convierto, te conviertes, se convierte, nos convertimos, se convierten..

Check out the changes...... e -- ie in some persons.

if you want to put "convertiras" you have to add "TE"

En español tenemos tres grupos de verbos terminados en: Group 1 AR, Group 2 ER, Group 3 IR.

No entiendo porque lo mezcla todos en un un gruo 1, en este video.

Cuando tu hablas, no piensas en AR, ER, IR, sino en significado. Esta lista es para que los estudiantes aprendan verbos básicos y está ordenada alfabeticamente en inglés, Por supuesto se pueden subclasificar y no estaría nada mal. Gracias por comentar.

The difference is in the melody of the language, same words said with a different intonation or medoly (technically, the accent).

Of course there are words that that vary a little bit across varieties, but more than 90% of the terms are the same. However, the melody of each variety changes significantly. So exposure to different accents is key to develop a good listening comprehension.

no, en realidad en mexico no hablan "tal y cual como se escribe" porque sesean las C y las Z. El verdadero o al menos el español original es, claramente, el que se habla en España! Aquí se pronuncian todas las letras de una palabra salvo regionalismos como en todo lugar pero si vamos a tal y cual como se escribe, aquí se lee exactamente como se escribe, sin mezclar letras.

Verdadero no existe. Es un término muy relativo y se pronuncia dependiendo de la región. Decir que la Z o la C de modo correcto de un modo u otro depende de la región en la que te encuentres.

de hecho en méxico cambian demasiado el idioma, yo diría que es uno de los países (si no el que más) que más "inventa" palabras o términos. Eso no me gusta. A propósito lo de cuba no es que sea mala pronunciación, es simplemente un acento en donde suelen aspirar las "s" , eso se ve en muchos paìses hasta en el sur de españa.

En México se habla el peor español del mundo, todo lo llenan de anglicismos innecesarios .

No estoy seguro, pero la palabra "to" iría ya en una oración, el verbo en sí no lleva "to".

When you talk about a verb in the infinitive form, it is a convention to use the word TO in front of it, which shows that the verb is not conjugated, just like when it is in Spanish when the verb ends in AR, ER, or IR. Thanks for your comment.

Creo que "atrapar" es un galicismo/francismo = fr. "attraper"=tomar con la mano) y entonces no es corecto en lengua española.

Entonces no es correcto hablar la lengua española, debemos de hablar en latin?... o arabe, porque muchisimas palabras de nuestra "Legua" provienen de estas dos.

Segun la Real Academia de la Lengua Española.

Atrapar: (Del fr. attraper, der. de trappe, trampa).

1. tr. coloq. Coger a quien huye o va de prisa.

2. tr. coloq. Coger algo.

3. tr. coloq. Conseguir algo de provecho. Atrapar un empleo

4. tr. coloq. Engañar, atraer con maña a alguien.

Nadie dice que no es correcto. Todo lo contrario. No sé de dónde has sacado esa idea pero no creo haber dicho eso en ningún momento.

To catch: debería ser "tomar"(agarrar=tomar con garras)en realidad la idea es "tomar" de "cojer" como en el español. Es una forma popular o vulgar decir "agarrar" lo correcto es "tomar", aunque parezca relacionado a la palabra "beber", ej: "tomar una bebida","tomar un taxi", "tomar un trago","tomar un avión",etc

"To catch = agarrar" es correcto y no necesariamente quiere decir tomar con garras. Pero es cierto que también se pueden utilizar los verbos "tomar" y "coger", aunque he preferido no utilizar este último ya que en muchísimas regiones no se utiliza. Muchas gracias por tu comentario.

Creo que la mejor traduccion para ese Verbo es Atrapar.

Sí, es una buena traducción, pero piensa en "to catch a bus", nunca dirías "atrapar el autobús". Creo que todos estamos realmente dando distintas traducciones correctas de la misma palabra, solo que se aplican a diferentes contextos. Solo una idea. Gracias por tu comentario.

Sabemos que en ingles un verbo pueden ser 2 o 3 españoles. Pero en la imagen que vemos en este video lo más correcto es atrapar, aunque si como dices, Atrapar el Bus no suena bien, seria mejor Tomar el bus.

En la imágen que vemos, las palabras..."atrapar", "coger", "tomar" e inclusive "agarrar" la pelota, o el balón son apropiadas. Solamente varía la frecuencia con las que se utilizan en cada país, por lo que creo que esta discusión es apropiada para brindar más alternativas para quienes aprenden nuestro bello idioma. pedir (e>ie) - to ask for, to request, to order (food); disfrutar - to enjoy oneself; cantar - to sing; respirar - to breathe. Hope that helps!
