Tosca ....

Were Verdi alive today one might wonder how he might stage his monumental

love triangle. Worse yet, given that the general audience lacks appreciation for

a sacred setting, how does one lift the work into the 20th century.

Perhaps Bernstein's "West Side Story" might suggest a more visceral approach to

the one scene that establishes the basis of the opera.

The music stands for itself (as it always will). Interpreting it for future generations will

be a daunting task.

che schifo di messa in scena! Tosca è ambientata ai tempi di Napoleone e della battaglia di Marengo!!!!!!!!! Hanno stuprato un'opera! Tosca non permette di queste scenografie. Si può liberare la fantasia con opere come il Flauto Magico o Turandot, non certo su opere come Tosca che hanno riferimenti precisi!
