I love the comedic opening of this video: It wasn`t me, I swear & the God of song has just given me an idea that is so pure, I could even sing it to my own mother. Brilliantly humouristic - and the ending, when the mother - or was it "mother" - appeared. Nice touch. But the rest of the video. McFadden worked, but the rest of them lacked charisma and stage presence, I`m afraid. Additional footage desperately needed to bring some life to this otherwise lovely song and performance.
This is the kind of song that works wheter you are at home in your sofa or Stressless chair, as the last dance at the disco - or in your car on a lonely night, when you just floor the pedal and watch the road lights pass by faster and faster. Besides, if you forgot about Valentines Day or an anniversery - it isn`t the worse choice to reqest as a present for your girl friend on the radio either.
But you know what, I think they would have made out a lot of greater songs if Brian McFaden weren't quit his band for the past 7 years because he really has got talent and creativity to write lyrics and songs like now as a single singer. I wish a reunion could bring them back together again as one so that others 'The Westlifes fans can put hopes in them to create more and more greater song in future. For now I love his songs very much and expecting no less from him. :D
@autherpantagen I`m not quite sure I agree with you. There is a huge difference, creatively, between being in a band/group or being a solo artist. Maybe Brian McFadden would have a lot to offer Westlife creatively, but that doesn`t necessarily entail that all his ideas would be welcome within the group. Egos are strange things. Besides, he left Westlife cause he didn`t feel comfortable with the lifestyle: traveling/touring. Maybe Australia is the right place for him?
Wow, I never thought that Brian McFaden could actually create his own songs and quite impressive one even after quit as a member of Westlife. I feel sorry for those westlife members who are still remain as one. Before Brian McFaden quit, almost every songs that they created were so nice until I can't stop listening to each one of them. Although they became old songs but I still like them very much and each one of them never gets boring from listening.
I had lunch with Brian McFadden at the Australian Grand Prix recently (My uncle is head of celebrity security and performance with paddock two, which is where the celebrity's were held before racing) and he is really an asshole. He is obnoxious, and is constantly bragging (in a not-so-nice way) about how much of a big man he is. He reminds me of a school boy who is just trying too hard to be 'cool'.

A normal binch (1.0-1.5 per mill) takes between 10 to 15 hours to get completely out of the system. I don`t know what type of breathalizer that are in use in Australia - but in Europe we have breathelizers that not only register day-after intoxication of alcohol, but also indicates for drugs and some barbituates too. Maybe he simply was sick the night before?

Sometimes I do too, I was only nine and he was my favorite in Westlife, and I cried sooo bad when I heard it on tv. But accually now when I listen to the music he does, I like him better. These songs he makes, is really beautiful, and you can hear he loves what he does and that it comes straight from the heart.

But to call it bragging? From the quote it could just as easily be interpreted as a cry for help - cause not being able to see straight isn`t something people brag about, at least not in my part of the world. For a professional driver this would mean loss of lisence - and no more racing for a while.

What they have in common, however, is great senses of humour, comedic talent and out of this world stage presence.
