Good Video! The most realistic I've scene. The 2 most amazing thing I remember seeing down there was airsta Mobile a hive of activity; everyone coming together as a team. Also seeing the complete darkness of the sky with the exception of nav lights from all the helos, coming to land, drop off people/refuel and take off again. Made me very proud to wear the uniform that day, even if I'd hauled MRE's and water on j's that week, I did my part.
I was flying missions because of Katrina (I show up at 1:17 & 2:43, and our chopper at 1:31) and have never been more proud to be part of the United States Coast Guard. Semper Paratus!
first off, what reason could anyone have to show disregard for the men and women fighting for us? I am against the war, but I still support the soldiers for going halfway accross the globe and doing what they signed a government contract to do. I have two Marine friends and my exgirlfriend in Iraq currently. I support anything that they do because that is my job as a civilian.
in response to Jtoatoktoe im am currently enlisted in the USCG... and my response to your comment... what else is new... a good coast guard quote many dont hear is "We have to go out, But we dont have to come back"
My father at 76 years old still pulls people out of the water for the USCG Aux. His Flotilla was just donated a speed boat to help their response time in a area that has limited CG resources. Total cost to the tax payers $0

People get off the political soapbox and look at the lives USCG saved those days. Lets work on something together rather than bash each other.
Thank a serviceman or servicewoman of any corp because it might just be your ass they save next.
