That sounds like a software re flash is required. You'd need to back up all your contents on the phone including pictures, music, contacts, etc.

If you visit our website and then click on LG check out their contact details section as we have a direct link to their support suite whereby you can remotely update your software.

hi! I'm seriously thinking in getting this phone.. As such I have some questions:

1. Does bluetooth work with mobiles from other brands?

2. Is it easy to switch the sim card?

3. does the screen get dirty easily? does it scratch easily?

4. How does Viewty compare to Cookie?

5. I've been using Nokia since the dawn of mobile phones.. is the interface as intuitive and functional? is it fast to roam around in the menus?

1. Yes it will

2. As simple as taking the back cover off, removing the battery and sliding out the sim card.

3. It does get grubby however you can prevent scratches using the screen protector supplied in the box

4. Touch screen technology is better on the Cookie (we also like this phone) however camera technology wise is much better on the Viewty, plus the Divx support on the Viewty is a brilliant addition :)

5. The handset is pretty easy to use .....

.... something things are a little different but not so much that you'll be pulling your hair out (if you have any - lol). Speed of the menu's is slower than some touch screen but its not too bad.

if you want a good phone, buy iPhone, HTC or Nokia 5800

Viewty is nice but it has a lot of disadvantages.

Camera is good but not what u expected at 5MP. nice feature is filming at 120FPS. it is slow in viwing pictures when u try to switch from 1 to another one. you cant do very much things with it.

I mentioned that because we apply different levels of pressure when writing and our positioning is also different resulting in different ways of touching the screen which is why I always recommend calibrating your touch screen handsets.

We have to admit we are LG Viewty fans - we would give it a 9/10 because it was just brilliant when it was first announced and still it does well because of the technology behind it.

Have you seen Renoir or even the Arena yet???

lol, you've guessed it we own quite a few LG's and other manufacturers too!

I managed to play with a Arena the other day - very nice. It's a shame these top handsets are not available yet on PAYG we're sure you are one of many hundreds if not thousands that would love to own one of these handsets ;)

1) How can I stop the shutter sound for the camera, and sounds for the video camera stop/start?

2) My Viewty seems to be a bit more jerky or "laggy" when bringing up certain menus on the phone, such as the movement of the menu icons from the left hand side, why is that?
